CHAPTER 114 – SEMIFINAL, ASH VS GARY (PART TWO)

In the previous chapter we see how Ash qualifies for the semifinals like Nancy, Leaf and Gary, his opponent for the semifinals was Gary and they are currently battle against each other, Ash managed to weaken his Aegislash after an impressive strategy but was defeated by Cradily making both 1 to 1.

With Ash.

Cradily had received virtually no damage.

"Since we can't harm you by conventional methods then we will use other methods, Manaphy use Tail Glow!"

A glow enveloped Manaphy and when he left I could tell that Manaphy had become stronger.

"We won't let you beat us, Cradily use Stone Edge, let's see how you dodge it!"

Numerous sharp rocks came out of the ground with the intention of hitting Manaphy.

"We have already seen that attack hundreds of times, Manaphy use Hydro Pump and destroys the rocks!"

Thanks to the Tail Glow, Manaphy's attack became several times more powerful and she managed to destroy the rocks easily.

"Now, take advantage that she is busy and use Energy Ball!"

Unfortunately that attack hit Manaphy which was busy destroying the rocks and was sent to fly.

"Are you okay?" – I asked worriedly.

"Phy!" - she nodded.

"Well, let's end this once and for all, run forward Manaphy!"

Manaphy began to run forward.

"Thank you for making it so easy to me, Cradily use Stone Edge!"

Numerous rocks came out of the ground again, however...

"Hydro Pump against the ground!"

Manaphy used her attack against the ground and soared into the air using the rocks as a foothold.

"Goodbye Cradily, Manaphy use Ice Beam!"

In the game this would be an x4 and although there is no such thing in the anime, this attack would be much more effective than normal and should weaken it in one hit thanks to the Tail Glow.

"Dod... oh no!" – exclaimed Gary.

That's right, he can't dodge it, he sentenced himself.

A powerful Ice Beam hit Cradily head-on, causing him to fall to the ground completely weakened.

"IMPRESSIVE STRATEGY BY PARTICIPANT ASH WHO HAS MADE IT CLEAR THAT THE STONE EDGE WILL NOT WORK AGAINST HIM BY TIPPING THE SCOREBOARD IN HIS FAVOR 2 TO 1!"

"You've done well Ash but now the real fight begins, go ahead Electivire!" – said Gary.

And his Electivire went out into the battlefield.

I remember Gary did have one in the anime but that's when he saw him again in Sinnoh, probably having all the regions available from the beginning changed everything and he was able to get it sooner.

Anyway, I'll let Manaphy battle to take advantage of the Tail Glow.

"It won't take long to make you fall, Manaphy use Hydro Pump!"

A powerful gust of water shot out towards Electivire.

"Do you think that will work against my Electivire?, Electivire dodge it and use Thunder Punch!"

Electivire dodged the attack with ease and quickly headed towards Manaphy with his fist wrapped in lightning.

"Damn we won't be able to dodge it in time, Manaphy use Ice Beam and get him away from you!"

Manaphy tried to launch his attack on Electivire, however, this was much faster and impacted his attack on Manaphy sending her flying, the only good thing is that he managed to damage Electivire a little.

But in return, she fell weakened.

"AWESOME LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, PARTICIPANT GARY OAK'S ELECTIVIRE JUST WEAKENED PARTICIPANT ASH'S MANAPHY IN ONE HIT, IT SEEMS THAT HIS POWER IS NOT SOMETHING WE SHOULD UNDERESTIMATE!"

"Manaphy you've done amazing, you deserve a break" – I said returning her to her Pokéball.

"THANKS TO THIS, PARTICIPANT GARY HAS EVENED THE SCOREBOARD AGAIN!"

Then I took out another Pokéball.

"Meloetta I choose you!" – I said.

That's right, now it's Meloetta's turn, I trust her deeply and I know she will give me the victory.

"PARTICIPANT ASH'S NEXT POKÉMON IS HIS MELOETTA THAT TAKES TO THE FIELD AFTER THE BATTLE HE HAD WITH PARTICIPANT WENDY!"

"Another Mythical Pokémon won't save you from your defeat Ash, Electivire use Thunder Punch!"

"That's what you think, Meloetta stops him from approaching using Relic Song!"

Meloetta opened her mouth and thanks to the sound waves managed to prevent Electivire from approaching.

"PARTICIPANT ASH HAS MANAGED TO PROTECT HIMSELF FROM ELECTIVIRE'S ATTACK BY USING THE SOUND WAVES AND SHAPESHIFTING IN THE PROCESS!"

"Use Close Combat!"

Meloetta quickly headed towards Electivire.

"Electivire use Brick Break continuously!"

An incredible amount of punches resounded in the place, both were tied in power and neither seemed to want to give in, but the wear of energy was beginning to be present.

"Meloetta retreat!"

"Take advantage of that and use Thunderbolt!"

"None of that, Meloetta use Relic Song again!"

Both attacks collided causing an explosion leaving both Pokémon very tired.

"Meloetta use Shadow Ball!"

"Electivire weakens her using Thunderbolt!"

Once again both attacks collided and at first seemed tied but in the end Electivire began to gain the advantage.

"Use Psychic to boost the Shadow Ball!"

Meloetta nodded and used her Psychic to push the Shadow Ball causing it to gain ground and Electivire's attack to retreat.

"You can Electivire, finish it off!"

Both attacks were again tied until the inevitable happened, due to the clash of powers, both attacks exploded sending both Pokémon to fly and weakening them on the spot.

"INCREDIBLE BATTLE THAT ENDED UP WEAKENING BOTH POKÉMON, I MUST ADMIT THAT, ALTHOUGH IT WAS A SHORT BATTLE I COULD NOT ARTICULATE A WORD WHILE IT WAS TAKING PLACE, I DO NOT KNOW IF IT HAPPENED TO YOU BUT I WAS SO FOCUSED ON WATCHING THE FIGHT THAT I EVEN FORGOT TO COMMENT FOR A FEW MINUTES!"

"You did well Meloetta, but now it's time to rest" – I said returning her to her Pokéball.

"Haa... it seems that we are tied but this ends here, it's time to get serious, Armarouge I choose you!" – said Gary.

And a powerful Armarouge took to the battlefield.

"This is an amazing Pokémon that I catch in one of my trips to Paldea, it's an incredibly powerful Pokémon, so no matter what Pokémon you use, your defeat is guaranteed" - said Gary.

"What do you think that? We'll see" – I said pulling out my Pokéball.

The time has come, I cannot use Charizard because it would be silly and Latias still do not want her to battle the time has come, I thought it would never come, but I have no choice.

"We won't hide anymore, from now on we will battle whenever we want, Mew I choose you!" – I said.

And so Mew went out onto the battlefield creating a commotion and a deathly silence throughout the stadium that was only broken when the commentator spoke.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, I THINK I MUST BE DREAMING BECAUSE I JUST SAW PARTICIPANT ASH TAKE OUT A MEW TO THE BATTÑE, MEW IS A MYTHICAL POKÉMON THAT HAS BARELY BEEN SEEN AND ONLY HAS A FEW IMAGES OF HIM, IT IS NOT LIKE OTHER MYTHICAÑ POKÉMON, MEW CAN TAKE THE FORM OF ANY POKÉMON, SO IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AND IMPOSSIBLE TO CATCH! CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF I'M DREAMING?!"

I already knew that this would cause a commotion but not at such a level, should I have reconsidered taking Mew out to battñe?

"Ash, tell me quickly where you captured this Mew!" - said Gary stunned.

"I'm sorry but I can't say it, I can only say that a lot of things happened and he wanted to accompany me" - I replied.

I can't tell anyone about Mewtwo after all.

"I understand, but after this fight, whatever happens I have to talk to you!" – nodded Gary.

I was going to reject him but I could tell from his expression that he wanted to talk to me at all costs, he had a serious expression on his face, for the first time since I knew him I saw that expression on his face... I'll have to talk to him.

Location: Team Rocket's Secret Base under the floors of Celadon City.

Under the ground of Celadon City, one of the largest Cities in all of Kanto, was the base of Team Rocket, however, its appearance was completely different from that of video games, the base completely looked like an ordinary company, only that this did not belong to an ordinary company but to Team Rocket, who had no choice but to hide after being framed by Team Rainbow Rocket.

There, sitting in one of the armchairs of an extremely luxurious room was a man in a black suit with a red "R" on the left side, next to him lay a Persian who was watching attentively the television in front of him just like the man, that man was Giovanni.

"The time has come... even so I must say that it has surprised me, at first I thought it was only going to cause commotion for his Latias or Meloetta, but I see that I was wrong" – said Giovanni.

He then pulled a smartphone out of one of his suit pockets and dialed a number.

"Good afternoon Lord, do you want anything?" - asked the voice behind the phone.

"Yes, I want you to come immediately to my personal room, it's urgent" – nodded Giovanni.

"Immediately, Lord!" - said the voice.

Then Giovanni hung up and after a few minutes a man knocked on the door.

"You can pass Archer" – said Giovanni.

"Of course" - Archer said.

Archer was a tall man about 180 cm tall, had green hair, short and wore a Team Rocket uniform only this was white unlike the rest of the recruits.

"Tell me what you want, sir" - Archer said.

"I want you to look at the Indigo League battle that is being broadcast right now" - said Giovanni.

Archer was surprised, but he watched TV, but what he saw shocked him.

"A Mew, sir is a Mew, the rarest and hardest to see Mythical Pokémon of all!" – exclaimed Archer in surprise.

"That's right, it's a Mew" – nodded Giovanni.

"Wait a minute, as I'm watching the Mew is in front of that trainer, does that mean that trainer has catched a Mew?!" – exclaimed Archer in surprise.

"That's right, that Mew was catched by that trainer" - Giovanni nodded.

"But sir... this will attract the attention of Team Rainbow Rocket, now that they know that trainer has a Mew they will go after him" - Archer said.

"That's why I've called you, I want you to send 6 of our best agents to keep an eye on him, I want Team Rainbow Rocket to understand that he is our "TARGET" and that they should not intervene in our affairs" – said Giovanni.

"With all the respect in the world sir, but does he really deserve it? I mean we don't know about anything about him and we have enough problems" - Archer said.

"It is not a problem for two things, the first is that he is one of our collaborators and the second is that we cannot allow a Mew to fall into his hands, we do not know what they will do with him, they could even create an army of Mewtwo and even create something even worse, do you understand the gravity of this situation?" – asked Giovanni seriously.

Imagining that Team Rainbow Rocket might have an army of Mewtwo or worse, Archer became nervous.

"I will immediately send 6 of our best men to protect him!" – Archer nodded still nervously.

"And remember that he can't know that we're protecting him" - Giovanni said.

"Yes, sir" - he nodded.

Archer then left the scene leaving Giovanni and his Pokémon alone.

"It looks like things will get interesting from now on..." – Giovanni said with a serious expression.

Then he went back to watching TV where the fight with Mew was taking place.

"This is all I can do for you for the time being Ash, become stronger, so strong that defeating Team Rainbow Rocket is not difficult for you..." - he said.
