Spoiled Surprise

Coming out of Mt. Moon, Altro and Celeste entered Route 4. Altro and Celeste were too focused on training these days. All of Altro's Pokemon had impressive growth. Haunter (31), Pikachu (28), and Gyarados (27), but the highest growth among all was Mew, reaching level 29 and surpassing Pikachu and Gyarados.

Altro also fought a lot of trainers along the way. He has collected a good amount of money.

Most of the credit goes to Celeste. Because if it was a normal challenge, the bet between trainers is pretty low. But Altro always asked for a high bet and to not lose face in front of Celeste. Those trainers accepted and lost with bitterly. Of course, that was only the case for male trainers.

Anyway, after days of camping and adventures. Altro and Celeste finally arrived at Cerulean City.

A beautiful city, so to say. At first, they went to the Pokemon Center for a regular check-up. Finding no faults with their Pokemon, they first went to the Pokemart. Altro received 5 moonstones from Clefable. Out of those he took the two top-grade Moonstones for himself and sold the middle-grade Moonstones in the Pokemart.

"For these three Moonstones, I can give you 60,000P$." The shopkeeper said. But Altro wasn't moved. As he tried to take away Moonstones while muttering.

"I risked my life to get such good quality moonstones. Might as well sell to some rich trainers."

"Stop, stop. How about 70,000P$?" The shopkeeper stopped Altro. But Altro stared at him, unmoved. The shopkeeper hesitated and said, "80,000P$" Altro immediately smiled and shook hands with the shopkeeper. "Deal."

In a fast-moving manner, the deal was made, and the amount was transferred to Altro. Even when Altro left his shop. The shopkeeper was still in a daze.

Celeste looked at Altro with a surprised expression. "I don't understand why he sold you at 80,000 P$ when 60,000P$ was a reasonable price."

Altro smiled slightly and said, "Because these days Moonstones' supply in the market is less. Also, finding these good quality Moonstones is difficult even if the supply is good."

He has already searched for all this information before he came to sell them.

Altro then went to Cerulean city pokemon gym. There, he scheduled a match for tomorrow.

After that, they went back to the Pokemon Center. Altro rented a room for himself and took a shower to freshen himself.

Coming out of the bathroom, he found Pikachu, Haunter, and Mew talking amongst themselves and doing something.

"What are you guys talking about so secretly?" Hearing this, they hurriedly separated, acting as if nothing had happened.

*Mii~* (Nothing Papa~)

*Pika~Pii* (We are not doing anything bad.)

Haunter shook his head, thinking, 'These fools. You look even more suspicious now.'

*Haunt~ Haunt* (There's a surprise for you.)

Hearing this, Altro raised his brow. 'A surprise for me?'

Altro smiled and said, "I'm excited to see."

All of them smiled upon hearing Altro's words.

'Yeah, I am excited. I don't know how long has it been since anyone prepared surprises for me. After coming to this world or in my previous life.' Altro shook his head to remove those depressing thoughts out from his head. It doesn't matter. Whatever happened in the past. He is here now with his Pokemon, to whom he is close with.

*Mii~Mii* (We will show you tomorrow.)

Mew smiled mischievously. Altro also smiled at her actions. "Okay, good night guys."

Before going back to sleep, Altro decided to give one last look at their data.

'Oh, Damn.'

And what he saw left him surprised but also made him feel guilty.

'I'm sorry guys, I spoiled the surprise you all prepared for me. Maybe I'll just act along with them tomorrow.'

'But really, this surprise made me happy. Thank you, guys.'

The next morning Altro was woken up early by his Pokemon. Then he went to rent a training room for half an hour.

*Pika~Pi* (Come, Come follow me, Master.)

Pikachu seemed very excited.

*Haunt~* (Master watch this.)

Saying that, Haunter looked at the dummy in the training room and a moment later, the dummy was lifted from the ground and slammed into the ceiling. Haunter has learned Psychic.

After that, electric sparks formed around Haunter and then hit the dummy. It was Thunderbolt.

These are two moves he had learned from Pikachu and Mew.

"Wow, Haunter. You are great." Altro said happily while clapping his hands.

Although Haunter was happy being praised by Altro. But he noticed something in Altro's tone, which made him realize something, and he started laughing.

*Jejeje*

*Mii~Mi* (My turn.)

Mew came over excitedly and used Thunderbolt, followed by Brick Break and Energy Ball.

"Wow, Mew, you are so great. As expected of you." Altro happily cheered for her.

Mew smugly looked at Altro and asked.

*Mii~Mi* (Are you surprised? Papa~)

Altro pulled Mew towards him and said dotingly. "Yeah, I am very surprised."

Mew giggled even more cheerfully.

*Haunt~Haunt* (Master already knew about the surprise.)

(What?) Mew and Pikachu were shocked, then they immediately looked at Altro.

Altro smiled a little awkwardly. 'I tried my best to hide it. But who let me have such sharp Haunter?'

*Sigh*

"Yeah, well. Last night, I looked at your status and found out."

Mew immediately jumped from Altro's hands and pouted.

*Mii~Mi* (Papa~ Tricked me. Bad Papa~)

"Hey, I'm sorry, okay? But really. I am very happy that you guys worked so hard to prepare such a surprise for me." Altro's sincere words reached their hearts, and they all smiled happily.

"By the way, Pikachu."

*Pika~Pi* (What is it, Master?) Pikachu asked while smiling.

"Didn't you learn anything from them?" Altro said teasingly, but Pikachu panicked.

*Pika~Pi* (That's not it. I-I...)

He wanted to explain himself.

Altro laughed and patted his head.

"Haha, don't worry. I know how hard you worked to teach them."

Pikachu immediately smiled upon hearing Altro's words.

"Okay, guys. Let's go, we have a Gym match scheduled for us."

With that, Altro came out of the training room. As he met up with Celeste in the cafeteria. Had breakfast and then they went to the Cerulean Gym.
