The Battle ends

Axel was right, if Renee had known that she would also be fighting against Shedinja after Beedrill she would have not wasted her time using 'Vine whip' and 'Razor leaf' on Beedrill. She could have used moves like 'Grassy Terrain' and 'Growth'. Now the effect of 'Sunny day' was also almost over.

'Even if it's a Pokemon like Shedinja, I won't…. no, I am no longer going to underestimate this Pokemon from now on. Venusaur is still on full health with a bit of stamina consumed. I can still do this' thought Renee.

But somehow, Renee was worried about this fight. She heard Axel calling Shedinja by a nickname called 'Marcus'. A trainer would rarely nickname his/her Pokemon and it is only done to those Pokemon who were close to their trainer. And those type of Pokemon were normally the ace of the team. So, Renee had a hunch that this Shedinja was the most powerful Pokemon in Axel's team and she was right.

"Let the battle Begin!!", shouted Teena.

"Marcus, use 'Agility', 'Substitute' and 'Gravity'"

"Venusaur, use 'Solar Beam'"

Shedinja first dodged the attack and proceeded to use those 3 moves. Everyone was surprised that Shedinja could use a move like 'Gravity'.

Shedinja was fast. Venusaur was slow and with String shot it was super slow. So, Shedinja could dodge the attack fluently.

The effect of 'Sunny day' was almost over so Renee wanted to use 'Solar beam' as a chance to hit Shedinja. What she didn't knew was, Shedinja was the fastest in Axel's team.

The effect of 'Sunny day' was now over.

Others may not know, but Axel had already won this battle. As far as Axel could guess, Venusaur didn't have any attacks that could affect Shedinja except for 'Sleep powder', 'Poison powder' or 'Confusion'.

Renee tried to use 'Sunny day', 'Grassy Terrain' and 'Growth' but Shedinja with the help of 'Agility' was fast and would spam 'Hypnosis' and 'Tackle' to disrupt Venusaur.

At the end, Renee had had it all, so she told Venusaur to use 'Vine Whip' and 'Razor leaf' to scare Shedinja away. Shedinja also backed off and now, Venusaur was finally able to use 'Sunny day' and 'Grassy Terrain'.

'Razor Leaf' and 'Vine Whip' would not have done anything to Shedinja but Axel didn't want to reveal this secret. Venusaur then started with 'Sludge Bomb' but Shedinja was quick to dodge it and replied with 'Shadow ball' which connected pretty well.

Venusaur was big and slow and with String shot its speed had decreased. At first Renee didn't care about it, as she didn't know about Shedinja but now it was turning out to be a huge problem.

Shedinja was usually fast and now with 'Agility' plus 'Gravity' pressure to Venusaur, Shedinja was just toying with Venusaur.

No one could believe the sight they were seeing. A weak Pokemon like Shedinja toying with Venusaur.

The effect of 'Hypnosis' was taking effect and 'Shadow ball' and 'Bug buzz' had done great damage.

At last Venusaur was able to fire a 'Solar beam' to Shedinja. The move hit Shedinja but Shedinja was fast enough to let its substitute to take the hit.

The Beam had created a shadow of its own so, Shedinja used Shadow sneak to travel from the beam's shadow to Venusaur's shadow and again used 'Shadow ball'.

After 10 minutes of battle and taking multiple 'Shadow ball', 'Bug buzz' and 'Gust', Venusaur finally gave up and fainted.

The crowd went silent and then started to murmur softly.

"Venusaur is unable to battle, Shedinja wins!!!!

Challenger Axel has won his 2nd gym badge, the Rainbow Badge. Let's give him a round of applause" said Teena in a sad tone. She was also a part of the gym so she knew what it meant. She also didn't want to be a part of another family that she barely knew.

Angela and Adam stood up and started to clap and wave towards Axel. A nurse joy came to the stadium to look after the injured Pokemon. None of them were critically injured but the nurse didn't want to take any chances. The Pokemons of Axel and Renee were then transferred to the Pokemon center that was inside the gym.

"Congrats. You have finally won your 2nd gym badge, the rainbow badge. You will also be winning a certain sum of money." said Renee giving the badge to Axel. She was obviously very sad. She never wanted to be a part of Venu family in the first place. She liked her Independence. However, league supported the 3 starter families a lot.

Renee straighten up her head and said "It was a great fight. As a gym leader it is very hard for me to give it my all. And in this fight I gave my all so I do not have any regrets. You are an amazing trainer Axel. Keep it up"

Whatever may be the reason, it was not the boy's fault. He was also just dragged into it. As a gym leader she would not sound petty. She gave her best so she should not have any regrets.

"Don't worry so much. Venu family is not as bad as you think. It is not like Zard or Toise family. It values family bonding a lot. As an outsider I can tell." Said Axel receiving the badge. Renee just nodded her head.

In the stadium,

"The kid has done a fantastic job. I think we should provide him with a reward" said Angela

"I think that is not a good idea" replied Adam

"How so?" asked Angela

"If we give him reward, he would just treat us like an organization from which he would trade benefit for us. I think we should give him something that would make him feel like he is the part of the family." Said Adam.

"Do you have any idea? He is not ready for Ransei."
