S3E5: Sleepover

So after his victory at the Saffron City Gym Foxx and James went straight to the hotel to get two rooms. One for him and James and a connected one for Jessie and Dawn to sleep in. Once the rooms were paid for the duo headed up to their room to get ready for bed.

Now he waited for the girls to get there before calling it a night and even took this time to work on a special gift for Dawn but first he needed to make a call. So heading over to the phone Foxx first called Professor Oak to get the number of Professor Rowan in the Sinnoh. After getting Professor Rowan's number he called him to get some information on Dawn to which he was able to apply to his special gift for Dawn.

Now while he worked James had gone for some food and was just now arriving with a small meal for him but more importantly a few questions for his son. So once he set the food down Foxx yawned and decided to take a break to eat and joined his father at the little table in their room.

"Hay son why do you call Professor Oak Pa, but you call me dad or father?" sighed James as he started to dish out the food.

"Well dad I guess its only because Professor Oak raised me from a baby, and it would only be confusing to call you pa as well. Unless you want me to?" replied Foxx as he started to eat his meal.

"No I was just wondering is all" sighed James as he poked at his food with his fork.

"If you're worried I don't love or care about you as much as Professor Oak you're wrong dad. I'm glade we finally got to meet and well I'm also glade you're not good criminals because I don't think we would've met let alone would I've gotten you to leave Team Rocket to join me." explained Foxx with a smile before slightly blushing as he added, "Actually I was also hoping to ask you something very personal about mom."

"Ummm well I'm not sure I'd be the best to ask such a question son." confessed James as he started to panic as to what exactly Foxx might ask.

"Why? Don't you love mom?" asked a confused Foxx before taking another bit to give his father some time to respond.

"Well yes but that doesn't mean I know everything about her personal life past when we met." confessed James, "I just wish I could help you but most of what I know you would've gotten from the Team Rocket records."

"Not how you knew you loved mom? What was it that told you she was the one for you?" asked Foxx with a smile.

"Oh that well I guess that wouldn't have been in the record now would it have been." replied James stalling before catching the impatient glance Foxx was giving him which really reminded him of Jessie. He then cleared his throat before adding, "Well I guess it was just that I felt happy with her and no matter how much we screwed up I always felt like everything would be just fine as long as she was with me."

"Hay what about me!" snapped Meowlth jumping on the table between Foxx and James.

"Well that would come later if you don't remember me and Jessie meet some time before you came along and even had little Foxx here before you came along." replied James before pushing Meowlth off the table before adding, "Why you thinking asking that little girl from the train on a date?"

"I'm not sure. Dawn is a nice girl and she is cute but I really haven't had much interaction with others my age. In fact she's really the first." replied Foxx.

"Who's the first? And for what?" asked Dawn as she entered the room which made Fox and James freeze.

"Umm, the first to have some cake!" replied James as he pulled a cake out from next to him and held it up.

"Okay but who's first?" asked Dawn even more confused now then she was before.

"Oh nothing really me and my dad where just talking about Christmas and how this would be mom's first time since being a little girl. He just didn't want to hurt her feeling hence the cake comment." replied Foxx looking at his mother with a sorry look that also told her what they might have realty been talking about.

"Okay well here are all the the gifts we had them gift wrapped and tagged to make it easier for when we get to Pallet town." replied Dawn as she set down the gifts she had been carrying in the corner of the room. "Which reminds me what route do you plan on taking to get there?"

"I was thinking about heading south to Vermilion City and challenging that gym before either cutting back through Diglett's Cave to north of Viridian City and then south to Pallet Town or after Vermilion City, take routes 11, 12, 13 ,14 and 15 to Fuchsia City before sailing back to Pallet Town from there. The second route gives me a chance at getting both missing gym badges for this region before Christmas." explained Foxx as he went to take another bite of food before remembering his manners and asking, "Are you two hungry or have you eaten?"

"Oh we ate before leaving the mall son." replied Jessie as she added her arm full of presents to the pile.

"Well, if we leave first thing in the morning and don't stop except to sleep and eat we should be able to take the second option and get you both of those badges before relaxing as we sail to Pallet Town." replied Dawn with a smile.

"You mean you wish to continue traveling with us? I though you had to get t Pallet Town to help get things ready?" asked Foxx a bit confused.

"That was the original plan but well one someone will have to help you carry all of those gifts to Pallet Town and second I haven't gotten to really see you in a battle and wouldn't mind getting to do so before Ash challenge you during Christmas Dinner." replied Dawn with a smile.

"I guess you really know Ash because that sounds just like him." sighed Foxx as he continued to eat and Jessie then took Dawn by the arm effort leading her to their room which was connected to Foxx and Jame's room.

"Yah Sleepover!" softly squeaked Jessie as she opened the door to her room and pulled Dawn in.

Yah this would be one night to remember for as they slept for some odd reason Dawn and Foxx both dreamt of each other and thus really couldn't get any sleep and only ended up laying in their beds staring at the ceiling.
