Violet City Gym Part 1

Ash, Brock, Misty, and Finn head to a local restaurant to get dinner. When they step into the restaurant the waitress leads them to their table but Finn stops them when he looks to the back right corner. In the corner he sees two familiar faces and starts walking towards them. "Hey Zubat, why don't you go say hi." Zubat nods his head and floats over to the two people in the corner. Zubat lands in the lap of Emelia which makes her jump out of her seat startled. Before she falls on the floor Finn catches her.

Finn "Looks like I caught dinner..." Finn smiles at her before getting slapped. "Don't scare me again Finn!" Finn lets her go causing her to fall on her butt. "I don't believe that I deserve that but it's ok because I brought guests." Finn extends a hand to Emelia helping her up. By that time Ash, Brock, and Misty arrive at Emelia and Michael's table.

Finn "Emelia, Michael. This is Brock, the Pewter City gym leader. This is Misty, the Cerulean City gym leader. Finally, this is Ash and Pikachu." Brock is the first to say anything. "It's nice to meet you." Misty says the same but Ash says something that catches Emelia off guard. "Lets have a battle!" Finn steps in front of Ash. "Do you ever use your brain? Think for a second. You just had a tough battle against Falkner and your team hasn't rested. Emelia would beat you without losing one Pokémon."

As Finn finishes his sentence Ash turns his hat around. "How about we find out right now?" Misty on cue grabs Ash's hat and turns it back around. "We are guests, don't be rude. Plus Emelia is battling Falkner tomorrow and if one of her team gets injured from battling you then she might not beat him." Ash starts sulking. "Fine but in between the gym battles how about I battle Finn. Since you aren't battling tomorrow that should be fine right?" Pikachu stares intently at Finn which prompts Eevee to jump out of Finn's hood for defense. Emelia walks in front of Eevee and picks her up to calm her down.

Brock "Ash cut it out. Stop trying to battle people you just met." Ash puts his hands up. "Fine I'll stop asking." Finn stops Brock. "I'm in a good mood today, so you know what. I accept your challenge, but you better be ready tomorrow because you only get one shot." Finn proceeds to sit down and order food for himself and his Pokémon. For the rest of the night there is no more talk about battling each other. Everyone was talking about their own personal growth since setting out on their journeys except Michael. Usually Michael is the first to brag about his training and how he improved but tonight he is silent.

Everyone leaves the restaurant and heads back to where they will be staying for the night and Finn walks next to Emelia as Michael is leading the way by a few feet.

Finn "Hey Emelia, what's up with Michael? He seems distant." Emelia says with a smile on her face. "He is just focused on his battle tomorrow, and there is something that he wants to show you during his battle." Finn raises an eyebrow and then they make it to their camp site and get some rest for the battle the next day.

----- Tomorrow Morning -----

Finn, Emelia, and Michael make their way to the gym and waiting for them is Falkner in the lobby. Falkner and Finn lock eyes and after a minute of staring Falkner breaks the silence. "So which one is first?" Emelia steps forward to say that she wants to go first. Falkner looks at her and is about to say something but Finn abruptly cuts him off. "Michael is going first!" Finn then points to Michael. Falkner visibly looks upset but carries on toward the elevator.

Emelia, Michael, Falkner and his personal referee walk into the elevator. Finn stayed in the lobby waiting for a certain kid with a Pikachu. He waited for five minutes before heading into the elevator alone. Right before the doors closed he saw Ash run into the lobby, so naturally Finn did the right thing to do. He pressed the button for the doors to close faster.

The elevator was about to reach the top where the arena was when a loud bang went off shaking the whole building. "They must be having a close battle. What do you think buddy?" Zubat nods his head joyfully and gets a head rub for his response. The elevator doors start to open then another explosion goes off causing smoke to fill the whole battlefield. Finn casually walks out of the elevator and looks for Emelia through the smoke and debris. Before Finn can find Emelia he hears three voices laughing from the middle of the smoke.

Finn stops and doesn't move an inch as he does not know those voices. After a minute of listening to them laugh, the elevator door opens. Out of the elevator comes Ash, Brock, and Misty. Ash looks at Finn and is about to say something when Finn puts his finger to his mouth to shush him. He points to the center of the battlefield and uses his hands to tell Brock (Ash definitely wouldn't understand hand signals) and them to go around to the other side.

The smoke starts to clear and three people are visible in the center. All three of them are wearing similar outfits with two of them wearing white and one wearing black, and all three have a R on their chest. Standing next to them are an Electrode and a Magmar. The three Team Rocket members are facing away from Finn and towards Ash, Brock, and Misty. Seeing that he hasn't been noticed yet, Finn looks around for Michael and Emelia but can't find them. Then he looks past Team Rocket and sees Falkner injured and conscious, Michael on the ground near Falkner unconscious, and Emelia nowhere to be found.

Girl "Prepare for trouble!"

Guy "Make it double!"

Finn notices that the guy singing is holding Emelia by the throat. He gets infuriated and runs over as fast as he can to help her.

Girl "To protect the world from devastation!"

Guy "To unite all peo..."

As the guy holding Emelia is mid line, Finn flies in with a dropkick to his lower spine and launches him forward ten feet by the time he stops rolling. Confused by what just happened the girl yells out "Where did you come from? James are you ok?" Finn looks her in the eyes. "Were you the one that hurt my friends?" She steps back a few feet before the blue haired guy speaks. "Nah, Jessie didn't hurt them. I did!" As he gets in Finn's face Eevee and Zubat get in front of Finn and his Electrode and Magmar step in front of him. Finn and the blue haired guy have a stare off and without breaking eye contact Finn yells aloud. "Ash, you and Misty deal with the other two. Brock you tend to the injured, this guy is mine."
