Customers Resentment!

The next day rolled around, now, it was time for Galen to head toward the market. Hopefully, the word had spread about him selling some rare stones.

By this point, it was already 8 a.m, in the morning. Galen did an inventory check to determine how many stones he would sell.

"I'll keep five of each evolutionary item to myself and sell the rest."

Similarly, he went back to the market using the same pathway. Once again, he met the owner whose expression seemed strange today.

"Hehe, how long will you be staying today?" The owner rubbed his hands together and asked.

"Uh, from Nine to One O'clock today. I'm leaving at the same time I left yesterday." Galen wondered why the owner seemed so distraught.

"Okay, that's perfect! You have a nice day in your sales." The owner handed Galen the golden manager token and left with a smile.

'What was that about?' Galen shook his head and began to set up shop.

This time, he was going to use a marker board. This was to let everyone know the quantity of each item he was selling.

Three Thunderstones, Three Firestones, Four Waterstones, Three Leafstones, and Three Linking Cables.

He placed this board next to his item display counter. Afterward, he went outside and put the same advertisement board up as yesterday.

This time, Galen put all of the items on display so he could just take them out rather than pretending to go to the back room.

As for the prices, a flash of greed appeared in his eyes and he jacked up the prices a bit. He didn't care if the prices were boosted, he knew these rich kids would still buy it.

He increased everything by two thousand Pokédollars!

'Now, I just sit and wait, again.' Funnily enough, someone walked in as soon as this thought crossed him.

It was a group of five people who walked in at the same time. They were teens, in fact, most of Galen's customers seem to be a part of that age group.

"I wish to buy a Fire and Waterstone!" Said the sturdy youth in front. However, when they saw the prices they were stunned.

"I heard he was selling these stones for 5,000 Pokédollars, did they lie?" The green-haired boy behind the sturdy youth was in disbelief.

"Those were yesterday's prices. They were on sale yesterday, so it's unfortunate for those that couldn't be there. I was open for 6 hours yesterday, so there was plenty of time to come and buy."

Galen shrugged and stood firm on his prices.

"Damn! I can't afford that!" The green-haired youth sighed and left the shop.

However, the other four teens stayed, signaling that they could afford it. The sturdy youth was secretly surprised about the prices as well, but he still paid.

Needless to say, he wasn't happy paying out so much but he had heard about the attitude of the sales boy. Colton had offended him yesterday and he doubled the price on him and called it 'inflation'.

The sturdy youth didn't say anything before taking his stones and leaving. Galen had earned 14,000 Pokédollars just like that.

"One Moonstone, please." The teen girl pointed to the Moonstone and said.

"That'll be 9,500 Pokédollars." Galen shamelessly said with a smile and wide eyes. This price was simply too much, but he didn't care if they hated him.

Galen could see the rage in their eyes but he continued to feign ignorance. They didn't dare complain for fear that he would increase the price.

Galen smiled and accepted their money before passing them their stones.

'Damn bastard, you know damn well what you're doing!'

"Don't smile at me, you human piece of crap!'

'I really wish I could slap that smile off that face of yours!'

They cursed Galen to the very core in their thoughts, they simply couldn't stand this guy.

"Hmph!" The last girl bought her Leafstone and left with rage burning in her eyes.

"Have a nice day!" Galen waved and said with a smile.

"You!" The girl almost tripped when she heard Galen. She turned back and glared at him before quickly exiting the place.

Afterward, Galen made a few modifications to the board. If this kept up, he may end up going home sooner than 1 O'clock.

Now, he was selling one Moonstone, one Waterstone, two Firestones, and two Leafstones.

Time passed and there were no customers, but it was okay. Galen sat to himself and thought about what location he should Sign into.

"Good locations would be the South Sea, the Pokémon Alliance Building, and of course, Professor Oak's Lab."

These were the only places Galen found special in Pallet Town.

"Hey, we've brought the berries you asked for." Galen heard a friendly and familiar voice before looking up.

It was Nathan and Natalie!

However, they were with a man, who was helping them carry the bags of berries.

"You can check the inventory to see if everything is available." Nathan placed two bags on the counter for Galen to check.

Galen inspected them and confirmed that these were the berries he wanted. He paid the siblings 550 Pokédollars for these berries.

This wasn't a bad price considering the type of berries he received.

Galen bought twenty-five Pecha Berries, twenty-five Sitrus Berries, twenty-five Oran Berries, Fifty Razz Berries, Fifty Lum Berries, twenty-five Cheri Berries, twenty-five Chesto Berries, twenty-five Rawst Berries, twenty-five Leppa Berries, and twenty-five Silver Nanab Berries.

"Thank you for this—you're much appreciated for your services." After counting them, Galen placed them on a table near the backroom.

"No problem, you've helped us a lot as well with the Moonstone transaction yesterday. It's like you said before, it's only business."

Nathan thought that what he did for Galen was nothing compared to that Moonstone.

Right then, Natalie looked down at the display glass, and her expression changed drastically.

'What happened with the prices?!'

Natalie looked at Galen, who seemed to have discovered her concerns. However, he feigned ignorance and nodded her way with a smile.

'Don't act like you don't know why I'm looking at you!' Natalie's lips involuntarily twitched.

She knew upon first contact with Galen, that he gave off con-artist and greedy vibes. He would either pretend like nothing was going on. And if you spoke out about it, then the prices would 'inflate because of an economic shift'.

"I hope with all the money you've made, that you'll get a Pokémon for a journey around the world. Someone your age shouldn't waste his life living in Pallet Town for the rest of his life."

Nathan felt like it would be a waste if Galen stayed here. With the money he's made, it could be considered an opportunity to change his fate.

"I'm working on it." Galen nodded. Of course, he would stay in Pallet, that would be dumb for any transmigrator to do in a Pokémon world!

"Alright. We'll meet you again if fate allows it." Nathan turned to leave, while Natalie scoffed at Galen before following.

"Haha, I just made 44,500 Pokédollars in just over three hours!" However, minus the 550 Pokédollars he had just paid out, it left him with ₽43,950.

Galen stored all of the berries and money he received before waiting for customers.

A few more customers walked in the purchase stones, but most didn't have enough. They could only leave in disappointment. The prices weren't accurate to what they had heard from the rumors.

Eventually, all that was left was One Firestone up for sale. Galen quickly adjusted the quantity board—and found that he hadn't sold one Link Cable.

"It makes sense; not everyone can acquire an Abra and Gastly. As for Machop and Geodude, they weren't something you could encounter at this time."

Turning toward the clock, it showed ten minutes before one. Time passed and no one came, and right as the time expired; the owner showed up.

"I'll handle everything for you, you can go on about your day." Galen was stunned, but he nodded in return before leaving.

'I guess I'll hold onto the extra Firestone, it doesn't matter to me either way.' Galen put on his raincoat before going to the entrance and pulling out his umbrella.

Walking down the way, he could see people getting wet from the rainfall. This was the downside of this season—if you wanted to sell your product outside.

No one was willing to spend 50-100 Pokédollars to rent an indoor stall for a day.

Right as Galen was walking toward the exit of the market, he heard running. Those loud splashing footsteps trailed behind him and turned back.

"Wait!" This man called out to Galen, yes, this appeared to be a grown man. A young man around the age of eighteen to nineteen.

"Huh? What do you want?" Galen was alarmed and alert.

"I came as fast as I could but I saw the owner was taking down your sign. He told me that you just left; and that you were wearing a black raincoat with a Pokémon on it."

"... ..." Galen remained silent.

"I know you're wrapping it up for today, I was wondering if you're willing to sell me a Firestone?" The man saw the warriness in Galen's eyes and quickly stated what he wanted.

"Oh, is that it? I just so happen to have this one item left. After I sell this item, my stock will be completely exhausted." Galen did not plan to come back to this market, this was his final day.

Galen reached into his shirt, but he was actually reaching into his inventory. Afterward, he pulled out the last Firestone he was willing to sell.

"It's really a Firestone!" Just looking at it; the man knew it was the real deal.

The man didn't question Galen's means, after all, Firestones gave off heat.

"The price is 7,500 Pokédollars. Take it or leave it." He decided to charge an extra Five hundred.

The man was a little taken aback, but he really needed this stone. Most people searched around Mt. Ember, but still couldn't find one.

"Alright, I'll..."

"I'll buy it! I'll pay 8,000 Pokédollars for it!" Before the man could finish speaking—a feminine voice called out hurriedly.

Galen looked behind the man and saw a woman. She appeared to be around the same age as the man.

She wore a flaming red Vulpix raincoat while carrying a matching umbrella and purse. She had long blue hair and almond-shaped blue eyes. Despite the large raincoat covering her body, one could still see how curvacious she was.

"Valerie, scram! I've arrived first! First come first serve!" The man turned to the woman and roared viciously.

This caused Galen to jump in surprise, it had happened out of nowhere. The woman didn't even look at the man as her eyes remained on Galen.

"I arrived first, so it's mine, right?" The man turned to Galen and spoke urgently.

"Naturally, it would be yours." Galen smiled and so did the man. However, what he heard next almost made his ears bleed.

"This was only so when I was at the shop. You guys had four hours to come to the shop and buy the stone, now you're on my time. The highest bidder gets the stone and that's final."

Galen grinned and stroked his chin before nodding. This was the best course of action as this would allow him to sell it for more.

"What? But this is..."

"Eight thousand going once..." Before the man could finish, Galen spoke and interrupted him.

The man's eyes widened and he gritted his teeth. He gritted them so hard that they caused his gums to bleed!

"Eight thousand going twice..." Galen's tone turned lazy and carefree.

"Nine thousand Pokédollars!" The man had no choice but to start bidding.

"Nine thousand-five hundred Pokédollars!"

"Ten thousand!"

The bidding war continued among the two as people watched in shock. They were having a bidding war in the middle of the market!

Eventually, the price reached a staggering twenty-eight thousand! The man was at his limit, and he eventually lost the bidding war.

Galen had gained an extra ₽28,000!

Many spectators gazed at Galen with jealousy, greed, and admiration.

"Damn it!" The man's expression was darker than the nightly sky.

Galen's expression changed, he could see an ominous aura outlining this guy's figure. Was this the legendary killing intent, or in this case, kill aura?!

Don't worry about him. He better act right or else!" The woman turned to the man and said with a chilly tone.

'What's up with these people?' Selling treasures comes with its troubles—you may end up meeting some dangerous people trying to get rich in life.

'I'm done with this market, forget this! I should sell my treasures in secret from now on, these people are too much.' Of course, this was unless he was strong enough to walk around nonchalantly.

The man challenged the woman to a Pokémon battle. If she lost, she would hand over the Firestone, but if she won he would hand her something of equal value.

Valerie sneered and agreed to his request.

Galen wasn't sticking around to watch, so he quickly left the market.
