Everything is a lie
Ava's resolve wavered for just a moment, but she quickly masked it with a glare. "You think you know everything, don't you? You think just because you say you're sorry, everything will be fixed?"
"I don't expect everything to be fixed overnight," Cameron replied, his tone softening slightly. "But I'm willing to fight for you, for our child, and for the life we were supposed to have together. I'm not giving up, Ava. I love you too much to let you go."
As soon as Ava heard Cameron say "our child," a painful memory surged through her mind—Amelia carrying his baby. The reminder of that betrayal reignited the anger she'd been trying so hard to keep at bay
"Leave me and my child alone," she snapped, her voice laced with bitterness. "You already have a fiancée who's pregnant with your baby. What more do you want from me?"
