"Get the fuck away from me you little shits!" I curse, shooting ice arrows at the zombie monkeys running at me.

if you leave the dungeon and then re-enter it again, everything resets. So when I got in to get a few levels, the zombies returned to their walking state. I was like, okay cool, that means I get to level up nice and easy, without any trouble. But then, I had the amazing idea to see what happens after I kill two special infected and wait for a little while. And guess what happens? Those overly annoying space zombie monkeys from Black Ops started appearing everywhere. You know, the ones that steal your perks?

Thankfully, they can't steal perks from me, but there are so many of them. Like, hundreds!

God, I've never dealt with something so damn annoying.

One of the said little shits leaps at me, screeching its head off. I side-step from it and slice it in half with my Ice Wakizashi.

Oh yeah, I can apparently create whatever kind of sword I want, since the skill didn't specify what I can and can't create. A Wakizashi is fast and deadly, so it was my best choice.

Fortunately, the little fuckers deal really low damage, like 20 per hit, and seem to have finally stopped spawning. I kill off the last of them with a scowl on my face.

A chest appeared in front of me, and I kick it open, taking the things inside it. A silver ring with a light blue gem, two crystals, and a little golden stick with the letter "G".

With that, I shoot up to the air, my grin getting wider by every second I spent soaring through the sky. I spin around, laughing as the wind hits my face.

I stop in the air and stare down, the zombies simply standing there, not knowing how to get to me. I laugh harder, finally not having to worry about them hitting me anymore. I fly away, looking for an empty spot to land.

I find a tall building and not a sign of any undead on top of it, making me land on top of it.

I think this is enough for now. I can return later today and have as much as fun as I can, but I need to go to school soon. I wonder if I can hide them?

And apparently I can because as soon as I had that thought, my wings suddenly just faded away. This is very convenient.

Now I don't have to reveal myself to the devils, even though I'm pretty sure they know about me since I literally spotted Koneko following me yesterday. But, at least I can go to school without scaring the life out of everyone.

But the more she thinks about it, the bitter feeling starts to go away. First, she doesn't have a bishop, and a rook or a knight piece won't have a good effect on a mage. Second, she doesn't believe for a second that eight pawn pieces are enough to reincarnate her. At all. And third, she's doing this for a friend.

She'll do anything in her power to help Rias to get out of that wedding with that wretched man.

"President, are you really not gonna recruit her?" Tomoe asked.

"No." Sona adjusted her glasses. "Rias needs her more than I do." With one last gaze to the mysterious mage, she sighed. "Let's just hope that Rias doesn't do anything reckless."

"That's hoping for the impossible, President." Her queen deadpanned.

I subtly glance away from my phone, spotting Koneko following me from a good distance away. I frown and quicken my pace, somewhat getting annoyed as she matches my pace, trying not to lose me. I glance to the other side, watching Akeno also following me with a smile. She didn't even bother to hide, preferring the "Too Obvious You Won't Believe it" way.

After I reached my home, I simply enter and shut the door behind me. Like hell I'm going to a dungeon with those two following me, that's just stupid and suspicious. It's best to go grinding when they lose interest.

I take out my shoes, noticing the lack of my mother in the house. As I spot a little note on the kitchen counter, I take it and read it.

Hello honey! How was school today? I'm sorry for suddenly disappearing on you like that when we just got here, but your grandma's health is getting worse and I needed to go back to Osaka to see her. I couldn't take you with me because of school but I deposited you more than enough money to your credit card for a ride. If you want to visit on the weekend, then your grandma will be delighted!

I rush to my room and close the door behind me, taking out all of my clothes, only leaving my underwear, and stand in front of the mirror. With a smirk, I unleash my wings, the sudden nice breeze hitting my body.

Just look at them. So majestic.

It's so weird to suddenly have a new organ you can control, but I don't really have any problem with using it. It's instinctual, like I've always known how to use them. With a curious head tilt, I touch them, having a surprisingly organic feeling to them, rather than just pure ice. They are hard, but they feel like actual organic wings than ice ones. And they don't feel as cold.

So what if someone rips them off? Will they just shatter or spill blood everywhere?

Whatever would happen, I'm definitely not testing that.

Now, would you please leave so I could train? I could sense you, you know? These devils are seriously so annoying. Maybe I should try and lose them? I don't like lazing around for no reason, and since I have a lot of opportunities, it makes it even worse.

I could try to confront them? No, that's a bad idea. Even though I'm definitely revealing myself soon, doing that might give them the wrong idea. First impressions are important after all.

I look inside my wardrobe, taking a black shirt and a red tracksuit out and wearing them. I get out of the house, walking away from it as I begin to gather my thoughts.

How am I gonna get Issei to join me? Obviously, the first step is saving him from Raynare, but how do I convince him? I could come up with a half-assed reason and he would easily join me, but I believe that I should take what I say to him seriously.

I'm going through the hero route, but how? Do I join the devils somehow? Azazel and his Grigori? Or should I go with the church?

Or... Make my own faction? The human faction? Not the hero's faction, but something different? But what should I bring to the table? Simply Issei and I won't be enough to make a faction that rivals the three. This needs a bit more thinking through.

I can't jump the gun without making plans, but making my own faction does seem very sweet. Not bound by their rules, and hell, making my very own rules.

But how am I gonna do this?

"Akane!" I stop, resisting the urge to groan when I hear a familiar voice behind me. "Over here!"

I sigh and fake a smile, turning around to see Issei waving his hand. I walk up to him and greet him. "Hey!" I raise an eyebrow at his huge grin. "What's got you so happy?"

"You won't believe it!" He says, grabbing my shoulders and getting close to my face. "But I just got me a girlfriend!"

"I-is that so?" I ask, hiding my shock. "What's the girl's name?"

"Yuuma Amano!" His grin turns dopey as he blushes. "And she's so hot!"

Well, shit. Canon is starting sooner than I expected. I thought I had at least a week, not three days.

"Really now?"

"Yup! And you know what that means?" I shake my head at his question. "I have a date tomorrow! And dates always lead to some Oppai moments!"

I sigh. "So, is there something you want or...?"

I use my ID create] and enter the dungeon, almost immediately flying away as my wings appeared. Alright, level up enough for tomorrow and save Issei from Raynare.

I'm sure I could handle one Fallen Angel, but I doubt I could beat all four of them alone. Even with the new Soldier skill.

Again, one hit from them and I'm dead.

But for now, I should focus on leveling up.

...This is it. This is the answer. This is how I'm gonna make my own faction. Through what humans always thrived in, Technology! Imagine, nanomachines? An army of giant mechs?

Think about it. This is a world that relies on magic. The most powerful beings use magic, study magic, and live with magic! But what if something they don't understand suddenly appears? Something that rivals magic? They have no idea how to combat machines, at least until I get the good things.

An invisible enemy? Thermal Vision. Want to spy on the Satans or any other faction leader? Make small, none-seeable machines, since they can't sense it. They can deflect bullets? Shoot them with plasma, and see how they fare against that.

There are so many possibilities with this class! Not to mention, this will most likely score me a spot as a faction leader once I'm relevant enough.

I couldn't help but laugh loudly. Why the hell should I bind myself by this world's rules when I could do so much more?

Technology vs Magic. A question that no doubt crossed everyone's mind once.

Giggling like a child, I escape the dungeon and rush to my home.

I spent most of the night disassembling all kinds of technology in the house. Phones, Microwaves, Fridges, TVs, etc, etc. I'm already halfway through in the quest. And thankfully, I do gain the knowledge of how to make whatever I disassembled. Then, of course, I used my card pack and this is what I got.

The Destroyer?! Are you serious? Do you even know how big this thing is? A gigantic metal worm with 82 segments, including the head and tail, or in a simpler term, 478 meters long, and every segment shoots literal lasers. And when said segments are damaged, probes will fly out and start shooting lasers too. Though, I know that it's gonna cost a lot of materials to make.

And apparently, I could only make 1-star machines at level 1. I unlock the next rank every time the Engineer class reaches five levels. Five means 2-star, ten means 3-star, and so on.

I know this because I'm already at level 12 from disassembling stuff.

It's morning now, and I only managed to make one Robotic Maid, 10 Robotic Spiders(So tiny!) and one Energy pistol with what I have. But with all of my excitement, I used all the materials and now I can't remake the Fridge.

Oh well, my mother will return in two months, I have time to fix this.

Now, I need to go to school, stalk Issei on his date, save him from Raynare, and he will owe me, getting me Affection Points in the process. Then, meet up with him, explain to him about the supernatural, then tell him my dream of "Protecting The Weak" and that's one easy but eventually powerful pawn.

Her best friend sighed in frustration. "Rias, I can't be the only one that is concerned about the unrealistic growth of Akane. This is getting out of your control, and you can't afford to provoke her." Sona paused then continued. "If you send one of your Peerage members to stalk her again, we will lose the chance of even having a positive relationship with her."

Rias winced. "B-but there's no way she knows what-"

"I'm 99% sure she already knows we are watching her." Sona cut her off, adjusting her glasses. "And I'm also sure she knows what we are."

"O-one more! One more time and-"

"Rias!" Sona stopped her. "I've read her files, and she has anger issues. She already went to a therapist once and it didn't work." The council president sighed again. "Look, how about you go tomorrow directly to her house, and confront her about it?"

Sona's features softened. "I understand that you don't like this, Rias, but sometimes, the direct way is the best. You keep doing what you're doing, and you might offend her. And you don't want that, right?"

Rias shook her head slightly.

Her friend smiled softly. "Then wait. Tell Koneko and Akeno to stand down and wait for tomorrow. I'll come with you if you want."

Rias whipped her head to her friend, looking almost offended. "I can do it myself. I don't need you holding my hand." Then she sighed deeply. "But you're right. I should wait. I'm just..."

"Desperate, I know." Sona nodded with a grimace. "But there's still time. Don't rush anything and everything will be alright."

Sona smiled. "Good." She takes out a chessboard from under the table. "Now, how about a game to calm the nerves?"

She smirked sinisterly as she brought her spear down on him. "Die!"

He closed his eyes as he brought both his arms up in an attempt to defend himself. In his heart though, he knew it was useless. And so, he waited for his inevitable end.

He slowly opened his eyes, seeing a wall of pure Ice made in front of him, protecting him from the blow.

"Now now," A familiar voice echoed throughout the park. "I'm afraid I can't let you do that."

"W-who are you?" Yuuma demanded.

"Me?" Issei looked behind him, seeing Akane, hands in the pockets of her white hoodie while wearing a cocky smirk, wings made of ice coming out of her back. "No one special. Just your average magician."

"A-Akane?"

She glanced at him. "You good?"

"A-ah..." He nodded slowly. "Yes..."

"Then go." She told him. "I'll explain everything. Just run away to your home. I'll meet you there once I'm done."

"But-"

"Go!" She yelled, turning her gaze back to Yuuma, causing him to quickly get up. "It's dangerous here. I promise I'll answer all your questions, but now's not the time."

He gazed between the two then nodded. "B-be careful." Was the last thing he said before he ran away.

He doesn't know what the fuck is happening, but he hopes that Akane will be fine.

"You..." Raynare growls. "What are you? You... are not human are you? A Yokai? You know you're in Devil territory, right?"

Really? "Wow, says the Fallen Angel." I mock. "And really, trying to kill a potential recruit? I can't tell if you're that much of a dumbass or you just hate your superiors."

"What?"

"He has a fucking Sacred Gear. Why the fuck would you try to kill him?" I question incredulously. "Are you stupid? You could've easily seduced the dumbass to your side."

Her hands twitch. "He's a threat."

"But could've been an ally." I correct her. "Honestly, I've never seen someone so stupid."

She growls, her grip on her spear tightening. "You're testing my patience."

That did it. She screamed and charged at me, and I cast three Ice Walls in between us. I make 8 Ice Knights and two Ice Soldiers, ordering them to attack telepathically.

As my creations attack her, I fly up with my wings, shooting Sleet Storm from above. She tries to get to my level but one of the knights slashes her wings, making her yelp. I chuckle slightly, casting two Frozen Orbs and they start shooting shards everywhere, covering the whole place in Ice. She deflects some of them but is shocked when the orbs explode on her, sending her flying back to the fountain and breaking it in the process.

I cast Sleet Storm again with two hands, raining hell on her as her HP rapidly depletes. She tries to throw a light spear but I create an Ice Wall right under her, hitting her chin and flipping her backward. I launch four lances, all of them hitting her in none-vital areas to not kill her, and one last Orb lands multiple hits with its shards then it explodes on her, almost emptying her HP.

"I thought it would be a little harder than that..." I mutter, amazed at the effectiveness of my spells. "But I think I should go easy on her... I don't wanna kill her..."

"Well, that was disappointing." I mock. "Hope you learned something from that."

"Me? Nothing. Them, on the other hand..." I tilt my head to the right, gesturing to Devils looking absolutely shocked at the place.

"Akane? What''s going on..." Rias calls out then notices Raynare and glares at her. "A Fallen."

"Yup," I confirm. "Wanted to kill poor Issei too."

"I see..." She walks up to her, extending her hand as the Power of Destruction swirls.

Tch, you don't deserve that power...

"I wouldn't do that if I were you," I warn her, curbing my anger and annoyance at her.

She looks at me in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Dumbass... "I mean that killing her could ignite the war between the three factions."

I nod. "I know. But there is something I want to do really quick." I flap my wings and start hovering. "Meet me at the school. We can talk inside your club. See ya."

I hear her telling me to wait but I fly away, not wanting to hear her voice any longer. I keep flying over Kuoh, not really caring if people saw me or not until I reach Issei's house.

My wings fade away and I knock on the door. A minute later, Issei opens the door, looking a bit wary of me.

I smile gently. "Up for a walk?"

They arrived at the park they spoke to each other the first time. He sat down on a bench while she kept standing.

"Soo..." Akane started. "You're gonna start asking questions or...?"

"...Where did your wings go?"

"That's your first question?" She laughed. "I dismissed them. I certainly won't need them for a talk."

"Right..." He sighed. "...What are you anyway?"

"A normal human." She paused. "That knows magic."

"I..." He took a breath through his nose. "What happened to Yuuma."

"Taken care of." She answered swiftly.

His eyes widened. "Did... Did you kill her?"

She shook her head, grinning in amusement. "Nope. She's still alive. The devils got her."

"D-Devils?!"

She giggled sweetly. "Right, you don't know about things. Let me give you an explanation."

And so, she explained about a side of the world he never knew about. The existence of Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels, Yokai, mythologies was actually true, and that not a few Humans know about it. Apparently, the Occult Research Club and the Student Council are all Devils, and Yuuma/Raynare is a Fallen Angel. So many things were revealed, like how the peace between the three biblical factions are in a cold war, and if it escalates, they might destroy a huge part of humanity with them.

He still couldn't understand why the Fallen targeted him, though. Was it because he's a pervert?

"I-I don't understand..." He uttered. "Why kill me? I-I don't have anything special. I'm just a normal human."

"That's where you're wrong."

"Huh?"

"You do have something special." She pointed at his chest. "You have something called a 'Sacred Gear'"

"A.. Sacred Gear?"

She nodded. "You see, there is a chance that when a human is born, they are granted one of these Sacred Gears." She informed him. "They have varying degrees of power, but only thirteen called the Longinus, are really worth mentioning. They can kill God after all."

Kill God... Can something like that really exist?

"And you, Issei, have one of the thirteen." She revealed, making him stare at her in shock. "The Boosted Gear, capable of doubling one's power every ten seconds, only limited by the user's Stamina." She grinned at him. "Lucky you, huh?"

He... has a Sacred Gear? And one of the strongest too?

"Raynare attacked you because one of her superiors thought you could be a threat." She shrugged. "I noticed them snooping around Kuoh and I started investigating. I knew that Raynare was a Fallen Angel, and when I saw her with you, I instantly knew that you were her goal."

And when she tried to kill you, I stepped in and helped you out." She smiled. "That's it in a nutshell."

He stopped, slowly digesting everything his friend had said while clutching his chest. One thing he couldn't understand though...

"Why?"

"Hmm? What do you mean why?"

"I mean, why couldn't they just leave me alone?" He questioned. "If they didn't do anything, then there's no way I could have known about this 'Sacred Gear' Right?"

She sighed sorrowly. "We're nothing to them, Issei. They either kill us or force us to join them."

"W-what? Why?!"

"Because they don't care." She laughs bitterly. "We're just worthless humans in their eyes. Who's gonna stop them from killing us?" Her laughter stopped as she scowled deeply. "And do you know what some devils do? They enslave females just to rape them or torture them."

He gasped. "What?!"

"And the leaders of both factions don't give a shit!" She shouts. "Because we're not important, we're not worth justice and are just second-class citizens in their eyes!"

She whipped her head to him, frustration written on her face. "Yet they forget that humans are the most evolved species." Akane sighed, looking a bit saddened. "But you know, I don't hate the Devils or The Fallen. They too have their own problems, and I'm not trying to bash them or anything. There's good and bad in every race after all.

"But I'm tired of being pushed around." She declared. "I don't want to be the weakest anymore and I'm tired of being stuck in their clutches. I'm sure others who are suffering feel the same."

"But... What're you gonna do?"

She smiled. "I want to make a new faction. A faction that will protect Humanity and Sacred Gear users and will not discriminate against anyone." She closed her eyes. "I'm not blind to the strife of other races. The weak always suffers under the strong, it doesn't matter what you are.

"And I want to make a safe haven for those people. A place where they don't have to worry anymore. A place where they can be happy." Her smile turned mirthless. "And, if a war breaks out, then I'll turn it to a safe bunker of sorts."

That struck a chord in the young man's heart. He wondered if other people with Sacred Gears like him were also attacked. For no good reason, only because they are "Threat" to others. Issei got lucky that someone saved him, but he couldn't say the same to others. Not everyone has a friend who has magic willing to protect them.

But a place where this does not happen anymore? Where weak and innocent people get to live and not be worried about getting attacked by a Fallen Angel pretending to be their girlfriend? What kind of person doesn't want that?

He glanced at the girl in front of him. Does she really think she could do it? Can one person really change the world like this?

...No, she couldn't do it alone.

He turned his gaze to his hand and clenched.

Because he will help her.

"Akane." He broke the silence, getting her attention. "You said this Boosted Gear is something powerful, right?'

She nods.

"Then..." He stood up from his seat. "Let me help you!"

Her eyes widened. "W-what?!"

"You saved my life, Akane, and after everything you said..." His eyes shone in determination. "What kind of man would I be if I don't help you when you need it?"

She looked at him a bit flustered. "I-I didn't do it for a favor..."

"I know." He ginned. "But I want to help. If you really think a world where people don't have to fight exist... Then I want to see it- no, I want to make it happen."

She looked at him with wide eyes, a bit touched at his declaration. "You would really help me?"

He nodded resolutely. "I will."

Akane smiled gently and beautifully, making his heart skip a beat. "Thanks, Issei. I don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything." He said then paused, scratching his head awkwardly. "Actually, I still don't know how to use the Boosted Gear thing, so..."

She giggled in amusement. "We'll work on that tomorrow." Her wings appeared again from her back. "For now, I need to speak to Rias and Sona about what happened today. Meet me here after school tomorrow, okay?"

"You got it."

"Right." She nodded, slightly hovering above the ground. "Goodbye!"

He waved as she soared away. "See you!"
