The Transfer

THE SCHOOL BELL RANG SO I didn't waste any time and ran out of the classroom. "Mr. Maveric! I need to talk to you about your grades-" Mr. Fintan didn't continue his sentence since I was already out of his sight "That boy is the most mischievous one I have seen" The old man muttered that I wasn't able to hear because of all the other students talking, laughing and yelling at each other. I didn't have time to do the exact thing because--

"NOAH MAVERIC!!!" Almost two or three voices screamed my name. This was what I meant so I quickly squished through the crowd of students before the three angry professors catch me but unfortunately, when I finally got out of the pile of people, my parents and the principal were standing right in front of the exit. "Damn it" I growled as I brushed my fingers through my hazel-brown hair. My blue eyes saw a pair of bluer and brown ones, their eyes showed disappointment and exhaustion. They were either exhausted because of work or my hard-headed behavior.

I WAS SITTING BETWEEN MY well-dressed parents. If we were in public, I'd look like a kid following them than their son because of my messy way of putting on my uniform. Mrs. Howard was in front of us, holding papers that probably has something to do with me. "Mr. and Mrs. Maveric, I guess you know the reason I asked for your presence in the school" Mrs. Howard started as she glances at the three teachers that had smudges of slime on their clothing. I fought the urge of laughing that ended up letting out a snicker.

My mom elbowed my shoulder, meaning that she wants me to shut up so I listened and kept a straight face. "So back to what I was saying...this was the third trouble young Mr. Maveric did after the one when he left the sinks of each bathroom on the ground floor open and the one when he covered the whole hallway with toilet paper at dismissals" Mrs. Howard explained and I swore I saw my dad hiding a smirk "Please remember that this is a school, not a carnival where your son can do such despicable things" Mrs. Howard added.

"On behalf of my son, I would like to apologies for all the trouble he caused for the past school years and I swear it won't happen again" Mom calmly said. "Mrs. Maveric, you kept saying that he won't do it again since he was in kindergarten, how can you be so sure that he won't do it again?" One of the teachers covered with slime: Ms. Mandalay commented on mom's statement. My mom inhaled deeply and exhaled before replying, "I'm sure that he won't do any trouble in this campus starting today because he'll be transferring to another school" Mom spat so all of us nodded. So I will be transferring to another school-- Wait--

"WHAT?!" I and all the other teachers questioned, some relieved and happy while I was confused like my five-year-old self who can't figure out why my shadow always follows me. "Y-You're not joking right?" One of the teachers I victimized with my slime attack asked and my mom nodded. "So if you will excuse us, we need to organize our son's papers for his new school" Dad politely spoke as he wraps his arm around my shoulder before leaving the stunned teachers and principal inside the office.

"WHY WASN'T I INFORMED ABOUT this?" I questioned my parents as soon as we entered the car. "It's because it was supposed to be a surprise when you arrived back home but I guess it was revealed early than expected because you pulled another prank before you could even get home," My hazel haired mother sarcastically said. I trailed my fingers through my hair again, It's a habit for me to do it whenever I get frustrated. "Okay, now that I processed the new information. Where am I exactly transferring to?" I asked with my eyes shut.

"You're transferring to Phoenix Academy. I and your mom studied there so I'm sure you'll love it there," Dad answered and I laughed at the name of the school. Phoenix Academy? Who in the world names their school that? "By the way, the school representative will be taking you to the academy tonight. Your things are already packed so all you have to do is add some things to your luggage if you want" Dad added that made me open my eyes wide. What?! Tonight?! Are they that excited to get rid of me?

THE FIRST SECOND WE ARRIVED back at the house, I stormed my way to my room. I flopped my body on my bed while muttering swears to release some negative emotions but I stopped when I heard a knock on my door. "Stop muttering nonsense and get ready, the representative- or should I say representatives are here to get you," Mom said from the other side of the door and all I answered was a groan so she has a clue that I heard her "Hurry up if you don't want them to leave you," She spoke once again when she didn't hear any footsteps so I grumpily got up and stomped towards my closet to get change out of my uniform.

I changed to a pair of ripped jeans, a plain white shirt, and a blue jacket just in case the school is near the north pole. I took all the things I needed (Game console, phone, iPod, pocket WiFi, Air pods, and laptop) and dragged my suitcase and backpack down the stairs. When I arrived in the living room, there was a girl but had her back facing me, "Noah, you finally finished packing whoever-knows-what" Dad said and approached me.

The black-haired girl that had her back in front of me turned around, she had yellow-gold eyes that were mesmerizing. I was star-struck and unknowingly staring at her, not until she spoke, bringing me back down to earth. "Are you okay?" The girl asked and I can't find any words to say. It's like someone tied my tongue so I just nodded slowly while starring at her eyes "You can stop starring now" She dangerously said with a stoic face that made me look away with rose-colored cheeks.

"So, you're Noah?" She asked and I nodded again "Well, nice to meet you, I'm Loe Connor, Phoenix Academy's representative," She introduced herself. I repeated her name, again and again, to remember it so when I have to ask a question I'll mention her name. I was deep in my thoughts that I completely forgot about the "whole leaving-for-school" thing. We all did.

"S-So, let's get going now, the headmistress is probably waiting for you now" Loe removed the strange atmosphere and pulled out a bag of...glitter? She took a handful of it and blew it from her hand. I was debating if I was dreaming when the glitter formed a portal in front of her, I even had to blink plenty of things to be sure I was awake.

Loe turned to me and gestured towards the shiny-glitter-hole inside the living room. "Are you coming or not?" She asked then I felt a hand squeeze my shoulder. "Go now, Noah. It's a hundred percent real so no need to think if it's real or you're dreaming" Mom chuckled when she saw my face. My dad gave a reassuring smile before bopping his head towards the portal so I glance at Loe then to the glitter hole, I carried my bag and pulled my luggage while walking towards the portal.

"Just walk through, easy" Loe said so I did what she said. I walked through the portal and felt a half hot and cold sensation. My eyes widen by the surroundings...It was...
