He Was Glad To Treat Her Special

The evening ended on a good note with Madame Feng and Feng Yan walking out of Kang Mu And Mo Ruyi's home confident that they would soon become in-laws.

Though once the door closed behind the mother-daughter pair, Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi quickly forgot about them due to Qiao Lan.

Looking at the girl wide-eyed Kang Mu said, "You want us to reconsider Rong Yue Wan as Kang Jun's bride?"

Qiao Lan waved her hand innocently. "No father, Yue Wan came to ask me for help. I know I won't be able to affect your decision but she loves Kang Jun. As her friend, I couldn't possibly reject her request."

Hearing this, Kang Mu nodded his head. Her words made sense to him. Though beside him, Mo Ruyi was not as easily fooled.

Mo Ruyi: "You should know, we went through a lot of screenings to find good women for Jun. Rong Yue Wan did not make it into our list."

"Who is on your list right now then?" Qiao Lan asked curiously. Though noticing that she was prying too much, she gave a smile and said, "I'm sure Yue Wan will give up if the candidates are more amazing than she is."

To this, Kang Mu was the one who answered. "We're considering either Feng Yan..."

Feeling as if he was too slow to finish his sentence, Mo Ruyi interrupted. "And Elder Tang's granddaughter."

My Ruyi didn't specify which granddaughter though. Tang Bingyi had been photographed with Kang Jun but the woman had already rejected a possible marriage, but at least the elder had more than one granddaughter of marrying age.

If Mo Ruyi and Kang Mu were able to marry Kang Jun with a Tang, then Mo Ruyi was sure that nothing could stand in Kang Jun's way. He would be free to make his own decisions and despite her being cold to her son, this was the one and only thing she had ever wanted for him.

If Rong Yue Wan married Kang Jun, this would only mean one extra asset in Qiao Lan's pocket. She would be able to take over the family in a matter of months.

Mo Ruyi did not think that the girl was that conniving, but even if she was the innocent girl she portrayed herself as, more power in this girl's hands would be a disadvantage to her son.

Yes, Rong Yue Wan was a good worker and a friend of the family, however, her background lacked refinement and she lacked a strong personality that would befit the Kang Jun Mo Ruyi knew.

Mo Ruyi didn't wish for Kang Jun to marry the girl, she would much prefer a Tang but if it was impossible to get one, Feng Yan would do, even if she knew that Feng Yan was spoiled and rough around the edges.

Qiao Lan: "Mother, father, I know that you've probably made up your minds but please take Yue Wan into your consideration. I'm sure that grandfather would vouch for her also."

Hearing the words grandfather, both Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi reacted.

"I'll talk it over with him... I promise." Kang Mu said. He then walked over to the girl and put his arm around her shoulder, "Now, you should probably go home and get some rest. It's a bit late. Unless you want to stay here?"

Qiao Lan smiled, "Thank you got the offer but I'm fine. I'll be going home now."

Waving goodbye, Qiao Lan was convinced that things would go her way and even if they didn't, due to Feng Yan, she had others ways in which she could go.

She was sure that she would win, sooner rather than later.

That night, as soon as Qiao Lan left, Kang Mu called Elder Kang and recounted to him what had happened that day. Listening to his son, Elder Kang frowned.

Kang Mu: "So father, what should I do?"

Elder Kang furrowed his eyebrows. For the first time, he was glad his son was the indecisive waste of space he was. "Give me a day to think about it, I'll give you an answer tomorrow."

After saying this, the old man hung up the phone. Thinking for a second, the elder tapped his chin with his index finger. After a small while, Elder Kang picked up his phone and began calling Kang Jun.

It took numerous rings before Kang Jun picked up his cellphone, once the boy did, Elder Kang heard the boys hard breathing but she didn't say anything about that. Rather than that, he smiled and internally commended his grandson for working on more grandchildren!

Elder Kang: "Your father has shortened the list of candidates," Elder Kang said, then he began naming them.

Hearing the names, Kang Jun purposely repeated them.

On the end of the line, Elder Kang could hear another voice in the background. Recognizing the familiar sweet voice, Elder Kang felt giddy. "Is AnLing there with you? put her on the line!"

Hearing this, Kang Jun frowned and then he put the phone on speaker.

Since it was so late at night, Kang Jun and Lu AnLing were about to go to bed after their 'exercise', however, just as they were in the middle of their time of pleasure, Elder Kang had called.

Kang Jun had originally planned on ignoring the call, but Lu AnLing, having something important she needed to ask the old man, forced Kang Jun to pick up.

When Lu AnLing heard Elder Kang wanted to speak to her, she smiled.

"Hello grandfather," Lu AnLing said sweetly as she moved to lay herself onto Kang Jun's bare chest.

"Hello my sweet child," Elder Kang greeted just as sweetly. Lu AnLing was like the daughter—or should he say granddaughter— he never had. Unlike with most, Elder Kang found the girl refreshing and he was glad to treat her special compared to the rest.

Lu AnLing: "So what's going on?"

As she said this, Lu AnLing drew a heart on Kang Jun's chest with the tip of her index finger. Feeling this, Kang Jun groaned and then he slipped his hand under the blanket tracing the outline of her spine.

Feeling this, Lu AnLing bit into Kang Jun's shoulder.

This action caused the man to smile brightly. Lu AnLing's heart almost beat out of her chest but she was immediately pulled back to reality once Elder Kang spoke.

Elder Kang: "They chose the candidates, I don't know what to say. That indecisive son of mine made the final decision mine..."

Lu AnLing nodded to this and then said, "Chose Feng Yan."

Hearing this, Elder Kang was confused, and asked,

"Why?"

There was a pause right after this.

The man couldn't quite understand the logic. What they were about to do was going to be utterly soul-crushing to whomever Kang Mu and Mo Ruyi chose. A part of him was glad that they didn't pick one of Elder Tang's granddaughters, after all the man was Elder Kang's friend, and he knew well of how much the old man loved his granddaughters. If anything remotely hurtful happened to them, Elder Kang was sure that the man would stop at nothing to destroy those responsible...

Thinking about this the elder sighed. Though his mind quickly switched subjects.

He continued to think about Lu AnLing's choice.

No matter how much Elder Kang tried to find a reason, he couldn't, but Kang Jun who was by her side touched the tips of Lu AnLing's wavy hair lovingly and smirked.

After their first meeting, Lu AnLing had been offended by Feng Yan. Since the girl couldn't say anything about their marriage, Feng Yan was able to get away with her insults but this didn't mean that Lu AnLing was going to allow her to get away with it forever.

At first, Lu AnLing wanted to destroy Rong Yue Wan's obsession with Kang Jun, which the girl had heard about from both Kang Jun and Elder Kang, however with the fear that the woman would recognize her still looming over her head, Lu AnLing decided that it would be best to keep Rong Yue Wan at arms length.

She would get her turn sooner or later. The woman had been part of her children's kidnapping after all, there was no way she was getting off scratch free.

After a small pause, Lu AnLing smirked and finally answered Elder Kang's question.

Lu AnLing: "Let's just say that Feng Yan and I have a little business to settle."
