Bakit ka single?

Fourth time.

This will be the fourth time na lilipat ako ng school. I wasted money, effort and time. I was a dropped out thrice. No wonder my family think I'm a jinx. Not that I really care.

"Che, bakit 'di ka umattend ng orientation? You missed the fun!"

I just rolled my eyes at Nina.

"Fun? Attending orientation are for suckers and flirts like you. Now, tell me, did you find another prospect?" I asked her while still flipping the pages of the book I was reading.

"Hell yeah! Unlike you, I'll get a boylet in no time. Magpakamanang ka all you want".

Don't get us wrong. Nina and I are buddies like sworn sisters. If I'm a jinx, then she's a hoe. A pretty hoe. Hmm? May pangit bang hoe? She'll probably kill me once she knew how I described her. But people really think she's a whore. A high-class whore at that. Haha, if only they knew she's still a virgin. I think they'd never believe they're still on earth.

"Why are you smiling? You're really creepy! Remind me again why did we became friends?"

"You really want me to? Well, nakatagos ka lang naman sa school and you freaked out! You suddenly grabbed and made me buy you a tampon because you think people will think na nakunan ka".

Yep, this girl's imagination is weird. She's not even buntis to begin with.

"Fuck! Why do you have to remind me that day? I could still imagine yung mukha mo that time when you suddenly cried rape."

"Bullsht!" sino bang hindi kakabahan? She grabbed me sa cr! It was so sudden!

"By the way, Jed called me last time. Kinakamusta ka."

"Tell him to fuck off!"

I put down the book and took a sip of milk. I like milk, buzz off!

"He's really cute, ayaw mo sa kanya?" Nina probe.

Jed is this hot guy we met on a trip. He's cute, yeah, but not my type.

"If he could recite the preamble, wear thick glasses and could teach me in stat, I could probably consider him" I said as a matter of fact.

Going straight na ako, ok?

You might think I became a dropped out due to failed grades. Nah uh! I got bored. I'm a lazy bum what can I do? But I'm not dumb, ok?

"Btch, why don't you just tell me to get you a tutor instead of a guy?" she rolled her eyes again then took my cup and drank it all.

"What's the matter? I like the nerdy types." they're virgins.

I wanted to add but this girl might get me wrong again. Virgin means safe, ok? Malabong magka-STD, no experience, no pressure, no problem just benefits.

If things don't work, I could still have a study partner at least.

"Mamamatay kang virgin! Magpakasingle ka habang buhay"

"I like being single. I could have a time for myself." I retorted.

"You're really hopeless." pailing na sabi nito.

The next week.

If there was something I could use to describe my current state with? I'M.SUPER.BANGAG.

Speak of the devil and she shall appear.

"Cheriza! Hintayin mo ako!" hearing her made me want to strangle her really bad.

She went out last night and got wasted. She called me at around 1 am to fetch her and guess what time kaming nakauwi--- It's fcking 4 am! We have a class at 7 sharp! Ang gaga wala palang perang dala hindi nagsabi! I didn't take my wallet with me! Sabi niya lang she's drunk and couldn't drive anymore. Saktong pang 1 time cab lang dala ko.

And guess what I'm wearing. I won't tell. Damn her again!

I hate parties, clubs and the likes. I don't usually enter those forsaken places but I'm not new to them. I would always get Nina out from bars and clubs so I wouldn't call myself innocent about things like this.

"Che, sorry na. I forgot my money kaya nga pala kita tinawagan but when we're already talking nalimutan ko namang sabihin."

Hindi ko siya pinansin. I just went inside her car and sat on the backseat. I'm so dang sleepy! It's already 6 am I feel like I can't even blink anymore. Baka kapag ginawa ko, diretsong REM sleep ako.

Napa-face-palm nalang ako when Nina also entered the backseat. Jusmeyo marimar!

"Who will drive if you sit here?" bulalas ko. Bobita talaga nito minsan, maganda lang.

"Oh"

She hurriedly went to the driver's seat and started the engine.

"Drive slowly. I'll take a nap, gisingin mo ako when we're there."

"Aye, Ms. Madrigal" she playfully answered. Siraulo talaga 'to. She can only be obliged dahil may atraso siya. I just grin before closing my eyes.

Tuta ko 'to today. I'll rip her off. Well what are friends are for, right?
