Chapter Three

"Hey, you know that lotus belongs to the Jiang family!" A boy dressed in purple with a very angry look to him.

"Do all Lotus in this large river belong to Sect leader Jaing?" Wei Wuxian asks.

"Well… no…" the teenager admits.

"So how would you know that these are from the ones of the Jiang Sect's Leaders patch?"

"I… I… I JUST DO SO STOP EATING THEM!!!" the boy yells.

Laughing Wei Wuxian pops another in his mouth before pushing the others away, and getting up to meet this angry teen, "May I ask your name young man?"

"YOUNG?!? WE ARE THE SAME AGE IDIOT OR AT LEAST CLOSE!!!!" he rages on. "And it's Jiang Cheng courtesy name Wanyin, so show some respect!"

"I apologize, Young Master Jiang, my name is Wei Ying, courtesy name Wuxian." Wei Wuxian introduces himself.

"Wei? That's the same family name as an old friend of my fathers." Jiang Cheng thoughts for a moment, but quickly shakes that thought from his head as he remembers the rumors that his father fell in love with his friend's wife, which caused the rift between them. Could this boy be their son?

Wei Wuxian shakes his head, "Impossible, my father isn't… with me anymore, none the less we were never from here before."

"I am positive that the man's name is Wei!" Jiang hates being called a liar. "I've met him too, even his wife!"

"You've met… my mother?..." Wei Wuxian still does not believe this boy, but when he stops and thinks about it, it's been hundreds of years since he'd last seen them, considering he lost his wings a long time ago, so would it be a stretch if they tried to find him? "Where is your father? Sect leader Jiang? I would like to ask him myself about these people who are supposedly my parents."

Hesitant Jiang Cheng wasn't sure if that was a good idea when the rumors are still fresh and how he knows his mother Madam Yu hated Wei Changze and Cangse Sanren when they were with them for a few years when he was just a child, but something about the yearning look in this mysterious teen before him, he couldn't take away for this boy to learn about his parents. "Okay I'll take you back to Lotus Pier but only this one time. If my parents want you gone then there isn't anything I could do to stop them."

Nodding in understanding he follows Jiang Cheng farther into the forests to see other Lotus Pier disciples holding kites in one hand and a bow in the other, and Wei Wuxian smiles at the fond memory of this game he taught his children to help them improve their aim for hunts. He is glad one of his many children kept this practice alive.

After helping gather all of the kites and arrows Wei Wuxian helped (mostly the younger disciples) back to Lotus Pier. Once arrived inside the swords hall hundreds of top-class disciples were practicing their swordsmanship skills under the watchful eye of a woman who sits on a throne made out of fine wood in the shape of a Lotus. Her gaze was intense, it reminded Wei Wuxian of his Aunt's stare, the Goddess of War and prosperity.

The woman must be the Sect Leader's wife, also Jiang Cheng's Mother. Jiang confirmed this thought as he walked over to the throne and bow respectfully, saying "Mother, I brought back a guest from the forest."

Copping Jiang Cheng's movements Wei Wuxian also bows, "Greetings Madam Jiang, my name is Wei Ying, courtesy name Wuxian."

Her gaze sharpens at the name Wei. "So you're their son." she hisses like a venomous snake.

"I am not sure what you could possibly mean Madam Jiang, my parents are… gone. We weren't even here but far off land." Wei Wuxian explains.

Her gaze softens a bit at this news, "I am sorry to learn about your parent's passing, Wei Ying, but there is no mistaking that you're their child, you have your mother's looks and your father's structure. Not to even mention that the name Wei is a secure name I never heard of before until I met your father."

Looking down at the ground by his feet, just going with the idea that his parents are dead though they are far from it. "I apologize for my intrusion, but I wanted to learn if my parents were really here, and now I have learned it was true, I won't be a bother much longer, please excuse me."

Madam Jiang shoots from her chair yelling, "Wait!" and he stops to look at her waiting for what she wanted to say, "Your parents, they were looking for their lost son when they came to us. That was around when you and A-Cheng were five, did you ever find them before their passing?"

"Sadly no, I was never able to return home to them. It's… complicated…"

"I won't ask you about the reasons as I see now as I did before it must be hard to tell the full story, but do you have a place to go?"

"No Madam Jaing, I was just...freed as of a week ago." he didn't completely lie. "Just learned about my parents who I also dearly wanted to see again."

"Then I can't just kick you out in the streets, you will stay here and be treated as a disciple for the sake of my husbands… relationship with your parents."

Wei Wuxian bows, "Thank you, Madam Jiang."

She didn't stop there though, "But for one if you bring trouble to my sect, I won't hesitate to throw you out, and for another matter, stop with the Madam Jiang, It's Madam Yu. Just because I am married to Jiang Fengmain doesn't mean I have to sell everything that I am to that man."

"I understand Madam Yu, and I will do anything that the Sect Leaders ask of me."

Madam Yu thought about it for a moment because speaking up again, "All I ask of you is to follow our sect rules and stay clear of my husband, I don't want any more rumors to cause my husband to lose even more face."

"I will do my best, Madam Yu."
