Chapter Six

Time passed as the Greeting ceremony was about to begin. Taking their seats in the main hall for classes. Wei Wuxian sat with the Jiang disciples sitting right behind Jiang Cheng. Grand Master Lan Qiren comes in with another beautiful young man that looks to be Lan Wangji but Wei Wuxian knows it wasn't him, for the Lan Wangji didn't smile, he looked like an immovable glacier so this must be his older brother Lan Xichen the heir to Gusu Lan sect.

The Lanling Jin Clan was first and the heir, Jin Zixuan, as they presented a present to Grand Master Lan Qiren. Not long ago Wei Wuxian learned that this Young Master of Lanling is Jiang Yanli, finance, who Jiang Cheng hates. Always calling him a peacock strutting around, which Wei Wuxian always brushed off thinking it was silly childish acts of a protective brother, but now Wei Wuxian can see what he meant. This man was indeed a greedy no good Peacock. He never even gave a glance to his fiance, who was looking at him longingly.

The Qinghe Nie clan was next and Nie Huaisang along with Meng Yao gave their gift to Lan Qiren. Though poor Meng Yao was being talked about by other disciples, It almost pissed Wei Wuxian off that Nie Huaisang didn't speak up for this man who cares about him. Wei Wuxian was about to get up and do it for Nie Huaisang but was stopped by Lan Xichen who personally took the gift from Meng Yao and thanked him.

Yunmeng Jiang was next and Wei Wuxian went up with Jiang Cheng to present the gift to Lan Qiren but was stopped by a loud bang from behind. A bunch of men came inside dressed in red robes, marching in, and a very smug-looking man led them inside. Already Wei Wuxian didn't like this man and was ready to rip the head off of his ignorance shoulders and send him back to Wen Ruohan in pieces.

"Excuse me but you just interrupted Young Master Jiang in the middle of greeting Grandmaster Lan." Wei Wuxian seeth.

The man turns to him and mocks him with a scuff of a laugh, and oh this God was ready to burn this man where he stood. "I just came to drop off my cousins who will be tending the teaching by order of the Great Wen Ruohan, my father."

"May I ask your name young Master Wen?" Wei Wuxian holds his anger back.

"Wen Chao, what is it to you scum?" Wen Chao spits in Wei Wuxian's face.

Wei Wuxian just had about enough of the generation of the Wen's to where he was about ready to kill the main family and pass it down to the next in line hoping they are nowhere as bad as these idiots. "I guess your father forgot to warn you about me then?" Wei Wuxian's eyes turn red causing Wen Chao to back away in fear.

"Y-Y-You're…" he stutters.

"I warned him to NOT take another step over the line before you all pay the ultimate price!" Wei Wuxian growls, "Must I make an example out of you first Master Wen?"

Wen Chao was shaking so bad he almost fell over his robes and the other Wen Disciples started to pull their swords out against Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji already on his feet along with everyone else. Jiang Cheng pulls out his sword causing the other Jiang disciples to do the same.

Lan Qiren shares a look with Lan Xichen who nods and started to pull out his blow end flute, named Liebing and as about to play from it, but Wei WWuxian was faster and swiped his hand into the air causing every single sword that was drawn upwards into the ceiling shocking everyone. Lan Xichen was astounded looking down at Liebing, knowing he wasn't the one to disarm everyone.

Wei Wuxian bows graciously to Lan Qiren for a split second, "I apologize for the scene I've caused Grandmaster Lan, for fighting is against Cloud Recesses rules." he turns back to Wen Chao that was now visibly quivering, "But doesn't mean I can't settle things once I'm on the outside of these walls, Master Wen."

A woman came out from behind her cousin falling to her knees in front of Wei Wuxian kneeling to him. "Please forgive my cousin Young master, he needs to be taught more manners," she begs him which breaks Wei Wuxian's heart knowing this girl has been dragged by her family shenanigans against her will. "Young Master Wen was only supposed to escort my brother and me to Cloud Recesses."

"Madam Wen," It was Lan Xichen who now spoke up, "If this is to be true then you could have waited until after the Greeting ceremony to present yourselves."

The young lady motions for her brother to come forward and bow next to her. Her brother quickly stumbles to her side and bows lifting a box in his hands to give to Lan Qiren. "My name is Wen Qing of Qishan Wen, and this is my little brother Wen Ning. We would be honored to study under Grandmaster Lan, for the year semester."

Lan Xichen takes the box and gives it to Lan Qiren who opens it and seems pleased with the gift or at least has enough face to accept it before consenting to Wen Qing and Wen Ning. "You may retire for the day in the guest houses, Madam Wen, and Young Master Wen Ning, whoever for breaking several of our rules Young Master Wen Chao must leave before sunset."

Bowing once more to La Qiren, Wen Qing and Wen Nig with the rest of the other Wen disciples took their leave dragging Wen Chao in from behind them. Once they were gone, Wei Wuxian kneels in front of both Lan Xichen and Lan Qiren.

"I will also take my punishment for disturbing the peace as I was a guest under your roof." Wei Wuxian says sorrowfully.

"Wei Wuxian!" Jaing Cheng hisses.

Lan Xichen smiles kindly down over Wei Wuxian before saying, "You did cause quite a scene Young Master Wei but not only did you disarm everyone before a fight broke out, but you also stood up for your brother and what was right."

Lan Qiren strokes his beard and nods in agreement, "For your punishment, you will write the rules down over once, and my Nephew, Second Master of Gusu, Lan Wangji will oversee this punishment."

"I will send a message to the Jiang Sect leader to let him and Madam Jiang of your overstay, as I expect it will take you a few days to accomplish."

Bowing once more Wei Wuxian also took his leave and Lan Wangji followed him out of the Grand Hall. Without even realizing it Wei Wuxian was leading the way to the Library Pavilion for his punishment. Lan Wangji was both confused and bewildered to find that Wei Wuxian, a man he is certain has never been to Cloud Recesses before, acknowledging he has never seen this beautiful stranger before.
