The Advantages of a Vault

Sorry for the lack of chaps. I stay in a third world country where power is gone from 5 am to 11 pm and I ddint have much internet access so bear with me. The situation has improved so I can now post regularly!

.....

Hestia watched on as the runes on Artillian's body sunk into the boy. The descending stars came down and started to revolve around Artillian while the boy's body underwent a metamorphosis. This was not his true body, but a spirit body to represent him in the vault. Whatever happened in the vault affected Artillian in real life as well.

If one were to observe his body in the outside world, one would notice the runes dancing about his body while his body sucked in energy like it was a black hole. The bookshelves around the boy started to shake as his body greedily sucked the area of World Energy.

As the stars revolved around Artillian's Metaphysical body, they got closer and closer to his body, like celestial bodies falling into their sun.

Eventually, all the stars crashed into Artillian, creating a small explosion of energy, the shockwave did not spread out and dissipate, and instead the explosion changed into an implosion. The island became the eye of a hurricane of energy forming around the cottage.

A giant Medici Matrix appeared in the night sky above the duo, lighting up the area with a beautiful ambiance. The Medici Matrix above moved with greater ferocity with time as the shapes within rotated and vibrated in their respecting directions.

The circle and square rotated in different directions while the triangle simply vibrated in place.

Hestia was already a part of Artillian's Vault so she could also, to a certain degree, take autonomous action. A privilege she greatly wanted to use.

As she was a deity she had divine energy. Although it was only a small portion of her original soul, it was still a behemoth of supernatural essence that most mortals could not quantify. Those that could were already pushing the boundaries of mortality and were infinitely close to becoming higher being. These types of beings made up a tiny fraction of mortals. Hence her power was still considered immeasurable by normal standards.

She infused her divinity directly into the Matrix, causing its components to become even more fierce in their movements.

Artillian could feel this through the Vault and took advantage of it by reprocessing the knowledge he had and processing the new knowledge he possessed.

Most humans easily forget what they see, but the knowledge is never truly lost. It is stored in the brain but cannot be accessed by most. Humans only used a small percentage of their brain in the first place because limiters had to be placed. If those limiters were broken, the brain and body would suffer.

Most complex machinery had limiters to prevent incidents like over heating or poor energy efficiency. Making a car faster also meant making it use up more fuel. That was just a law of nature.

Hence all humans had countless pieces of knowledge that were inaccessible due to the limitations of our physiology. The Medici Matrix and Hestia changed that.

Artillian was performing parallel processing of the highest level, because he was not only absorbing knowledge from the library, he was also reaching into his subconscious and analyzing everything he had ever heard or seen.

Hestia took this opportunity to also give Artillian a lot of knowledge in regards to the basics of cultivating. From spells, to theory, to practical information to knowledge of the human body.

Hestia was a scholar by nature and had many divinities under her banner. Among the Olympic Pantheon she was one of the more diverse and worshipped Gods. Although she wasn't spoken of often in Earth's modern culture , she was the goddess of family, politics, architecture and more. Culture and knowledge were her staples.

There was a reason she had so many elemental attributes. Alas, following the law of deity power distribution, her overall power was lowered.

Thanks to Hestia's efforts, it would not be lie to say that Artillian's knowledge of the world at large had far surpassed Eden's. Especially in regards to the supernatural. Eden still knew more  in regards to how the laws of cultivating worked on Phios, but it was only a matter of time before Artillian completely surpassed him. All he had to do was take in knowledge from literature and absorb it. With Hestia helping him, even he doesn't reach the peak of strength; he was still destined to reach the peak of knowledge attainable by a mortal. That is if he lived long enough.

Artillian's issue did not lie in lack of talent or resources, but in time and death. Artillian was not interested in living, but he had come to the conclusion that he wanted to reincarnate and forget his past life. If a deity killed him, thanks to anti divinity, his soul would be obliterated. No deity would allow a god slayer to reincarnate. Kindness to one's enemy was cruelty to one's self. This was a law of the universe that could not be changed by anyone and deities were especially vicious.

The anti-divinity within Artillian would soon explode because of his connection to Hestia's divine power. He had two opposing powers that were intricately linked with his soul and they were destined to explode from within him. This future was not one he could avoid and was almost inevitable unless he became strong enough to completely subdue and tame these higher powers.

Hestia had taken a risk by informing Artillian with information above his station because his survival was going to be at risk and she needed him to understand the dangers of the world. But she only told him what she thought he could handle. He was after all a 16 year old child. Although he had the experience of having lived two lives, none of those lives reached adulthood and had matured.

'His suicidal tendencies are also childish.' She thought. Hestia was considered emotionless by her peers for a reason. She prided herself in her objectivity and reasoning. She was also arrogant but hid it well.

'Those who know more should speak less. Even a fool will seem wise if they kept quiet.'

Zeus had tried to woe her into his bed many a time and had failed superbly with each attempt. Hestia was the goddess of society, and that included the art of war.

While she was not as knowledgeable as Athena or Ares on the subject, she could come up with many psychological strategies. Unorthodox and orthodox. Zeus and many other powerful beings had failed to touch her.
