Frog In A Well?; Dance Of The Sword God

'This idiot ruining my fun.' Yin thought to himself with an annoyed expression. "Fine! Do as you please."

"Alright, first duel! Kang Alakas versus..." Everyone eagerly awaited what Zoan was going to say next.

"Yin Yixian!" Zoan shouted as a devious smirk appeared on his face. 'This Yin is far too stupid and overconfident. Even if he can train forever, that doesn't mean his strength will increase at the same rate!' He thought to himself as everyone cheered for Kang.

"Hah! He will learn his lesson now!"

"Teach him how it tastes to eat dirt!"

Kang rubbed his fist into his palm. "Don't worry, I will make sure he never touches the handle of a sword again!" He yelled, moving to the middle of the crowd. Yin also made his way to the middle as the two of them faced each other.

"Fight!"

"Listen! I know you think you will win this fight, but you are like a frog in a well! You don't know the true power of those around you! Your delusional!" Kang shouted as the fight started.

"Huh?" Yin said in an annoyed tone as he leaped forward towards Kang. His expression immediately changed as his face became expressionless and shadowed. Kang also advanced forward, running at Yin. "Don't get cocky!" He yelled as the two decreased their distance with swords in hand.

After reaching the three-meter mark, Kang straightened his sword and thrust forward with immense force. "Die!"

A loud boom could be heard as the impact of the blow sent small shockwaves through the air. Yin had disappeared from Kang's sight. "How the hell did he dodge that!?"

"Pay attention to the opponent when you fight, frog." A low and cold voice could be heard from Kang's behind, as Yin swung his sword towards Kang's neck at extreme speed.

The sword cut into the first layer of Kang's skin as blood started to slowly pour down his neck. Sheering shivers immediately crawled up and down his body as he was completely stunned with fear. His heart was beating out of his chest. Yin quickly lowered his blade and put it back in his sheath as Kang fell to the floor, pale as a ghost.

'I.. I almost died.' He thought to himself as cold sweat started to run down his back. His eyes were as open as two large globes, he couldn't shut them. Although he had fought many battles before, this was the first time where he had tasted the true presence of death at the tip of his tongue. It was traumatizing.

Everyone in the crowd was silenced like lamb, no one knew what to say, they were all shocked.

'Holy shit. I didn't think I was this strong just yet.' Yin thought to himself. It was very exciting.

"Be thankful I spared your life. I would kill you but, it would be too much of a hassle to deal with." He said as he walked back to the middle of the training ground. "You were second place, right? Doesn't that make me first now?"

...

"N-no! You still have to defeat the person in first place in order to become first." Zoan managed to blurt out.

"Who is he?" Yin said, moving his gaze towards the crowd.

"I'm in the first place as of now." A voice came from the crowd. A boy with white hair and silver eyes could be seen calmly walking out of the crowd of noble kids.

"Leon!" Kang shouted, reviving from his frozen state. "That guy! He cheated right!? He had to have cheated! Right!?" He yelled desperately. "We must punish him! Yes, We must punish him for his actions!" No one said a word.

"Don't be so disgusting Kang. At least be humble in the loss." Leon said coldly.

"Leon is your name? Fine then, Leon! I challenge you to a sword fight!" Yin said, pointing his sword towards Leon. 'This is... so exhilarating!' He thought to himself. His body had started to shake slightly from the excitement, the thrill of a fight.

"Then, to defend my title, I shall accept your challenge." Leon immediately replied.

"He will win..." A single voice came from the crowd of nobles. "He will defeat that Yin monster!"

"Yea! He has to!"

More and more voices could be heard growing from the crowd.

"He has to win!"

"Go, Leon!"

Almost all of the nobles had started to cheer for Leon. After what they had just seen, they were forced to cheer for Leon if they wanted to keep their pride, no matter if they thought he would actually win or not.

"Begin!" Zoan shouted.

'I can tell that he is much stronger than that Kang kid. He was a joke, but this Leon, he may actually pose a challenge for me.' Yin thought to himself with burning excitement in his heart.

"What are you thinking of Yin? How about we begin!" Leon yelled, noticing that Yin had not made the first move like earlier.

"Sure!" Yin said as he smiled. Immediately, dark red mana started to emanate from his sword, and eventually covered his entire body. This was a new skill created by Yin called "Sword Mana." Although he had created it on his own, the Sword Mana skill was already a very commonly used spell among skilled swordsmen. 'I was not going to use this until I found a worthy opponent, but it seems that I might have to use it right now if I want a 100% chance of victory.' Yin said in his head.

'Yin... he is another type of monster.' Leon thought to himself. 'No wonder Kang lost so easily, he can already use Sword Mana when he was nothing but an amateur just four months ago. '

"Go, Leon! Destroy that bastard! If anyone can do it, it's you!" Voices could be heard from the crowd.

"Get revenge for us!"

Leon suddenly spoke. "I give up!" He abruptly yelled, disrupting the cheer.

"Huh?" Yin's mana retreated back to his sword. "What are you talking about?"

"I give up! You win! There's simply no way I can defeat you, Yin. One must know when they reach their limits." Leon said, sheathing his sword.

'Really? That easily?' Yin thought to himself. "Then, are there any others who want to fight!" He yelled, looking back into the crowd.

No voices could be heard. Now that their only hope had given up, there was no way they were going to be humiliated any longer.

'That's disappointing.' Yin said in his head. 'That means I will have to go back to training! How boring.'

"You bastard!" A voice could suddenly be heard. "How dare you cheat against me! I am the noble young master of the Alakas family! The Alakas family do you hear! Humiliating me like this will lead to big troubles for your family!" Kang suddenly yelled at the top of his lungs. His voice broke from time to time but his desperation could clearly be seen by everyone. At this point, he had truly started to believe that Yin had cheated.

"Bow down on your knees and beg for forgiveness if you don't want your entire family to be killed one by one!!" He screamed, throwing spit everywhere.

Some kids started to talk amongst themselves.

"I had no idea that Kang was such a disgrace."

"I even admired him at some point, can you believe that?"

'Everyone's now acting like they were on my side from the start. How stupid. This Kang brat, he sure is annoying. He may even cause problems for me in the future... should I just kill him now?' An intense aura of malicious bloodlust suddenly erupted out of Yin like a volcano.

Everyone noticed at once and was immediately put on guard. Cold sweat instantly appeared on their bodies as they looked to see what Yin's next move would be.

'This is... Yin! How is his bloodlust so fearsome, it's almost as if he's a supreme magus!' Leon thought to himself as he quickly turned to look at Yin. Everyone was frozen on the spot.

'Nahhh... It's too much of a hassle. Plus, I don't know how many people I could tick off by killing him. I'm still weak, his murder may lead to a domino effect of obstacles for me. If I was strong enough, I would solve this problem without a thought.' Yin said in his head as he walked away from the crowd.

'I might as well train now. Surely no one will want to fight me after I just released that insane amount of bloodlust. I will need to be able to control it.'

After moving away from the stunned crowd of nobles, he started to train again. After Kang left in a rage, everyone stared at Yin. What in the world was he doing? training?

'Now that I think about it, I never really saw him train after the first day. I didn't want to be discouraged, but it seems that due to that decision, I missed how much he has truly progressed. I'm sure everyone else feels the same way.' Leon thought to himself as he looked at Yin in awe.

Everyone looked at Yin train. They were all in awe. Before, they were discouraged, but for some reason, seeing him now was like seeing a picture of motivation. They were all inspired by him.

His blows were infinite, never slowing down for even a second. They were thunderous, fast, and precise, like a true sword-master. He moved quickly around the training ground, jumping and flipping as he struck with the sword. It looked glorious, like the dance of a sword god.

YO! I know the story is going quite fast right now but don't worry, I just want to set the foundations before I start with the main meat of the story! Thanks!
