It was Brad's day home with Selene, so Aaren and I had ridden into work together. We had a big presentation for a couple of big time clients and then we had lunch with one of the owners of one of our subsidiary companies.
On our way home, we finally had a moment's peace to discuss our other work.
"Any sign of Myles coming after our next shipment?"
Aaren groaned and gripped his phone tighter. "No, not that I can see. Maybe he was being honest about leaving us alone. He seems serious about being a part of Selene's life at least. Though, I couldn't tell you if that was good or not."
"It seems good for her," I gripped the steering wheel tighter. "So long as he doesn't hurt her."
"If he does, he's a dead man. And he knows it."
"Speaking of Selene," I said as we pulled into the driveway of our home. "Do you think she's ready? I mean, do you think she's healed enough?"
