Chapter 50: Bradley

I was losing my d*mn mind without her. Morgan was doing just as bad as I was, but he wouldn't say it. Aaren was still parading around like he was unbothered but I could see his heart freezing over once more.

How could she do this to us? How could she abandon us?

We raced through downtown Knightvale heading for the last ping I got off of my bike. It was at a junkyard that we were sure belonged to Arthur.

When we pulled up to the spot, we immediately noticed a man coming out of a beat up trailer with a shotgun trained on us. We each got out of the SUV and put our hands up, luckily for him we were only here to talk. Aaren had let me bring the flamethrower, just in case.

I think he was just worried about trying to take it from me.

"Who the f*ck are you," the man said in a thick southern accent. Definitely not a local.

Aaren stepped up and took the lead. "We're looking for Selene Leigh."

"She ain't here." He refused to lower the gun.
