Ethan Pearce smirked to himself as he approached the building before him.
"Well these idiots went to the prometheus school of 'Evil Villains'. That or whoever ran them out of Eidra made them leave in a rush." He chuckled to himself as he eyed the seedy warehouse in front of him.
Thanks to the afternoon sun bearing down his job was made easier. Vampires typically didn't come up in the morning, well not unless they had an enchanted item. Even then their time was limited to a few hours at best.
With a heavy but annoyed sigh Ethan moved forward as if told to be in unseen force. As he got closer his chartreuse yellow eyes practically glowed with untamed energy as he arrived at the large metal doors of the building. He quickly looked over his shoulder and to his sides making sure no one was in sight. Once he was sure he focused his magic casting two spells on himself. If this plan was going to work then he'd need to be ready for anything. With a deep and long breath Ethan knocked on the door loudly.at first there was no response so Ethan knocked loudly this time causing noise to be heard on the other side of the door.
The door cracked open revealing the pale face of a dark haired man that had crimson eyes.
"Who the Blagdan are you?" He asked in a low raspy voice. Yet the moment he asked this his eyes froze on Ethan. "Green jacket, black jeans, dressed…dressed like a biker." A thin creepy smile danced onto his lips. "So Havoc himself is looking for work?"
He opened the door further stepping back so the light wouldn't reach him.
"Come in, I'm sure the boss will be happy to see you of all people."
Ethan entered and the man shut the door behind him.
"Well, it seems your boss is snoozing?" The man turned to see Ethan pointing at the numerous coffins laying before them.
"I hope you don't take offense to this but why coffins? I mean isn't it a little cliche?" He asked as he kept his hands in his jacket pockets. He looked around the warehouse noticing the windows had been painted over.
"Name one other item that can keep us safe from the sun? One that's comfortable for people like us." The man added with a stern but calm tone. "The boss is up there," He continued while pointing up at what looked like a makeshift office.
"Damned silver princess and her pure night goons." The man spat off to the side at the mention of the one responsible for running them all out. "Doesn't matter, with you helping us we'll be able to get back at that bitch and…"
"You heard him," Ethan mused as he grinned insanely.
"Let's get this over with now so we can get paid." The male vampire turned sniffing the air. He wrinkled his nose as he let out a loud hiss.
The coffins nearby shot open as multiple angry and tired vampires sat up to see what had sacred their comrade.
"Subtlety was never your best quality was it?" A girl asked in an annoyed tone.
As if born from the darkness of the building she came to lift. She stepped forward standing next to Ethan, her piercing blue eyes eyeing the vampires before her. They all sniffed the air and hissed in rage at the woman, ready to attack in a moment's notice.
"Shape up," A male voice ordered as another individual appeared, seemingly from the shadows.
He, like the woman, was clad in a black uniform but visible on their belts were badges.
He locked his purple eyes on the vampires then said, "You all are hereby under arrest. If you want to avoid worse charges I suggest you surrender now."
None of the vampires moved to surrender causing the man to sigh.
"Ethan, they're all yours and Morgan's. Remember to shoot to wound and not kill." He added with a strict tone.
Ethan smirked as he flexed his fingers and grinned madly.
"Worry about catching Vicky Miles." He then looked to his left at the woman and smirked. "Morgan and I got this."
The man dubbed Miles only nodded then disappeared again. The vampires went to surge forward but Ethan was ready for them. He quickly drew two twin Colt Model 1862 police revolvers and shot at the paint covered windows. Those who didn't have enchanted items hissed in pain then dove back into their caskets.
"Vae, you're actually using your head," Morgan teased as she dashed forward.
With inhuman speed she quickly drew then sheathed a crimson bladed katana. The vampire her blade touched cried out in pain. The wound wasn't fatal but it was bleeding profoundly.
"Oi," Ethan shouted as he gracefully spun dodging an oncoming vampire.
As he did so he ran the revolver in his right hand, across his right thigh. He quickly used his thumb to reload the weapon then cock back its hammer. He fired at the vampire's left knee subduing it, then turned his attention back to his older sister.
"Try not to kill them with that enchanted blade!"
"Relax, it'll only keep their wounds from healing," Morgan snapped as she dodged an oncoming swing.
She smirked under her mask, as slashed out yet again. Just as she sheathed her blade she saw a flicker of movement out of the corner of her left eye. With the sun beaming in from the shattered window she could make out a shining glint. Instinctually she went to draw her blade again.
Yet just as her hand tightened around her hilt, two shots ranging out. The vampire who had taken aim at her dropped their weapon and began to shout in pain.
"They're trying to surround us." Ethan mused as twisted smirk curled on his lips.
Morgan and him stepped into the middle of the room. Here they were safe from most of the vampires, thanks to the sun. Yet those who could reach them believed they had the siblings cornered.
"I got all of those who use guns," Ethan remarked as his smirk seemed to broaden. "Do you want to magic them or," His smirk turned into a mad grin that would make any sane person feel chills.
"Or we can finish this with our blades?"
Morgan noticed the change in his tone and pretended to think for a moment. She didn't have to face her brother to see the twisted smile dancing on his lips. She knew it all too well, no she knew better.
"I've only used two spells today," Morgan began as she finally stopped circling the room. "Let me show them what happens when they go against their creator's champion." She mused as she let her sheathed blade sink into her shadow.
She removed both her long gloves from her hands placing them together, then in her back pocket. The moment the vampires nearby saw the tattoo-like symbol on her left hand it was too late. She knelt down placing her left hand on the ground, focusing her magic, activating her spell. Numerous chains of darkness sprang from the surrounding shadows and wrapped around the surrounding vampires; subduing them. Ethan looked around finding all the vampire's hands bound alongside their legs.
"Well, now all we need is for Miles to drag Vicky down here." Ethan remarked as he spun his revolvers like a wild west gunfighter. With a slight sigh and begrudging glance he holstered his prized possessions.
While the two siblings easily had dealt with the vampires below, Miles had moved to head to the upper office. Unlike Morgan and Ethan he wasn't just a hired mercenary or veteran trying to do good. He was an officer of the law, yet he knew he'd also be the best person to help keep Ethan and Morgan on track. With a deep breath and sharp exhale Miles bursted through the office door with his sword drawn.
"Freeze!" He shouted as he found himself staring at his target.
Vicky William leader of the Crimson Hand and source of numerous criminal activities. All in which are tied to Eidra but now that she was in Genopia Miles had full authority to act and arrest her. Yet from the way the woman stood she wouldn't be going peacefully. She stood next to her gray coffin dressed clad in black except her signature crimson leather coat; that stopped just at her hips. Her dark hair was tied back into a tight bun and her rightpale hand gripped the hilt to her saber tightly. The guard was a steel gray while the hilt was black, yet what grabbed Miles's attention was the blade's color. It, like Morgan's blade, was a deep crimson meaning it must be an enchanted blade. This only raised more questions Miles wanted to ask her but knew first he had to do his job.
"Vicky Williams, you are under arrest for operating a gang, several charges of first and second degree murder, possession and trafficking illegal weapons, grand larceny." Miles recited as he reached behind him to grab a pair of handcuffs, "If you come willingly, it'll make this easier on yourself."
Vicky laughed at his words.
"Little daemon, do you believe I'll come with you so easily?" Her tone was mocking as were her red eyes.
Vicky raised her sword then rushed at Miles with blinding speed. Miles barely had time to raise his blade to parry the attack, yet he managed.
He grabbed her sleeve and threw her to the ground, still keeping her arm held as he grabbed his cuffs. He put his knee down onto her back and grabbed her right arm, trying to restrain her. However she reached behind her and clawed at his lower leg, making him yell in pain as he stood up to back away from her. She quickly stood up and looked down at her arm for a moment to see one of the strands locked in around her wrist. She glared up at him as she charged forward with a slash for his chest. He stepped back but felt the sting on his leg from the pain as he had to take a split second to steady himself only for Vicky to switch into a reverse grip on her sword and follow up with another slice. This time for his neck for a quick and easy kill.
He ducked under the swing and tried to sweep out her leg. The pain slowed him down from building momentum as Vicky stepped back to easily avoid the swing. She swung down toward him as he rolled away, quickly drawing his revolver and firing a round into her arm.
Vicky screamed as she dropped her sword in the process, holding her arm in pain. Miles took aim at her leg as a means to cripple her for an easier arrest when she noticed this. She dove towards her coffin for cover, rolling across the ground as Miles tried to fire another shot just missing her. He stood up as he kept his gun trained on the desk and limped toward her sword. He grabbed it and looked around for a means of removing Vicky's leverage. He fired a round towards the coffin to keep Vicky pinned and avoid any sudden attacks from her. He had an idea as he was hoping to draw her out and end this quickly.
"Vicky, give yourself up. Were both wounded and at this point one of us may die." He began keeping his tone neutral but grave. "This is your last chance to give up peacefully."
"Rot in Blagdan," Vicky hissed as she sped towards him once again, this time using all her vampiric speed and landing a devastating punch on his torso.
Miles grinded his teeth as he focused his own power creating a shadow of himself. It appeared behind him keeping him from being sent flying out of the office windows. Yet it didn't stop Vicky from reclaiming her lost sword.
Miles growled angrily as he locked his dark eyes on Vicky.
"This ends now," He snarled as he focused his power yet again.
Vicky snorted in contempt and dashed forward, ready to deliver a vicious slash. Yet as she moved a shadowy path spreaded from miles towards Vicky. Once it reached her feet she was locked in place. Yet it didn't stop there, like with Morgan multiple chains of darkness sprang from the shadows. Miles's head was beading with sweat as he kept his focus on the trapped draculina. She thrashed and tried with all her might to break free but to no avail.
"Vicky William," Miles began as he slowly rose to his feet.
"You are under arrest." He declared in a tired but firm tone. Yet he couldn't help but smile a bit as he then said, "Welcome to Genopia, Ms. Williams."
