"A gift? " Jackal exclaimed in excitement, and after a brief moment, they all trailed behind the deacon.

Even the group from the Korvyn family.

Opposite to the main building of the Sanctum and some distance away from the attendants' quarters, stood a beautiful white building.

Inside, there were several large tables, each elegantly set with expensive and high-quality tableware.

This was the exclusive dining area for the special guests or the high-ranking members of the Sanctum, and even the food prepared here was quite special.

Soon, the group of teenagers found themselves sitting around one of the tables.

All kinds of dishes that they had never even heard about were placed in front of them, just the smell was mouth-watering.

" What are you all waiting for? This is your gift, go ahead and eat as much as you want. " The deacon flashed his two sharp-pointy rat-like teeth, while glancing towards the table present just beside it.

Just after the deacon had finished speaking, the attendants began to wolf down all the food like hungry wolves, they had never eaten anything like that, there was even a lot of juicy meat.

Vritra sighed rubbing his forehead, the Korvyn family group was seated on the table next to them and was eating exactly the same food as them.

They were just the slaves of the Sanctum.

' If they keep angering the rune masters like this then we would all be killed even before reaching the inheritance. ' Vritra thought while looking at their expressions.

Whatever, might as well enjoy a nice breakfast before we head towards our deaths.

Forgetting about the lingering danger, Vritra also began to wolf down the food. There were many dishes that didn't exist on Earth, though some were similar.

They ate enough for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the same time, until they couldn't fit anything in their bellies they all kept stuffing food into their bodies.

" Haa I think I used up a lifetime of luck, I have never eaten anything like that. " Azhar spoke, as he wiped his face.

They weren't the least bit worried about how they looked or if their clothes got dirty, food was all they could see.

" BURP! Uwah, I don't think I can walk for some time. I wish I could eat meat as tasty as that every day. " Another boy commented.

" Alright, it's time to leave. " Dax and the group also finished eating. They didn't want to stay here for a moment longer.

" Yes, yes, we have prepared carriages for you all. " Bonnie spoke.

The deacon had already left.

They weren't leaving any chance to humiliate this group.

Vritra also felt as if his belly was about to burst. He ended up eating a little too much since this food reminded him of his lavish lifestyle on Earth.

He gazed at the rune masters of the Korvyn family and decided to use Omen Weaver on someone among them.

This was the perfect chance as it would be more dangerous to do it while being in the forest, but he needed to choose his target carefully.

' I can't choose anyone stronger. Otherwise, such a small inheritance might not be a big point in their life, and I won't get any useful info.

Instead, it would be better to choose someone weaker who has a high chance of dying or having their lives changed inside. Then I will be able to see a useful vision. '

Vritra had been observing the group for some time, and by now, he was clear on his target. It was the youngest member of the group, a man who seemed to have joined the group not too long ago.

[ Activating Omen Weaver, target selected. ]

After a few seconds, Vritra felt pain in his head and felt a little weaker, but he had already gotten used to it.

No one had noticed when his eyes had turned completely black and his breathing had fastened.

' Perfect!! ' he exclaimed in his head. He got to see exactly what he wanted: the scene where the rune masters were fighting against the beasts inside the inheritance.

******

After a couple of hours, the carriages brought the rune masters and the attendants near the boundary of the city.

" Carry all this luggage and follow behind us. If you are left behind, then we won't be responsible for any of you. " One of the female rune masters spoke, while pointing towards more than a dozen bags.

Without any complaints, all the boys picked two bags while the girls picked one bag each. This was decided by Azhar.

Though Vritra was behind the group so he and one more boy only picked one bag.

Finally, their long journey began.

The Zhorian inheritance was pretty far away from the city, and it would take them around five or six days of walking to arrive there under normal circumstances.

Unlike Vritra's expectations, they weren't killed off after moving some distance away. Still, it was obvious that the other group was being quite harsh to them.

...

They travelled on foot for five days while taking rests a few times every day.

There weren't many beasts close to the city, so their speed was decent on the first day, though the ten attendants didn't have it easy.

All ten of them were extremely tired but kept dragging themselves to follow the group of rune masters.

After the first day passed, they had travelled far enough that beasts had started to appear.

But, the beasts were quite weak in this section of the forest, so only a few of the rune masters ventured ahead of the group to clear the path.

On the third day, however, the rune masters were being more careful. They probably used some kind of scouting Rune to look around the area and avoid any confrontation with the beasts.

Because of which, the group had to constantly change their route, which slowed them down slightly.

Vritra was very curious about the runes but unfortunately he didn't get to see them in use.

He would often help Sana out by carrying her bag, though he didn't speak to her at all and continued with his push and pull tactic.

Finally, they had arrived close to the Zhorian inheritance.

In this area, the beasts were scarce but were much stronger, so the rune masters were on edge all the time. They were treading forward very carefully.

It was the night of the fifth day.

They set camps and decided to rest for the night. The inheritance was only at half a day's walk distance now.

Few tents were placed, though the attendants were only given two tents, one for boys and the other for girls.

The seven boys had a hard time sleeping in such a cramped place, though it was quite cold at night so they somehow managed.

Vritra stared at the fire that Azhar had just lit up. Several stones were lying around that place.

This was the exact place he had seen several times in those visions. His gaze unconsciously drifted off towards the frail boy who was the first guinea pig for Omen Weaver.

He was Harris.

His body was thin compared to even the girls. Despite being nearly fifteen, he looked younger and undernourished.

Then Vritra turned his gaze towards the girl who was also going to have a life-changing moment right at this place, just like Harris.

Her name was Linda. Vritra had only seen a vision where they were taking their seats around the fire.

This didn't give him any information.

She was probably the youngest of the group and the most energetic. She was like the cute and innocent younger sister, so everyone was helping her carry her luggage.

She smiled joyfully as it was finally the time for them to rest and have a nice meal. The two dimples on her cheek made her look especially cute.

Then he looked at Azhar, the tallest and oldest member of the group and the most handsome boy among them.

After preparing the fire, he began to prepare food for everyone. He had been taking care of everyone for the past few days, like an actual older brother for them all.

Azhar was also going to have a life-changing moment here.

In one vision, Vritra had seen himself shaking hands with Azhar while thanking him. They were still in the same part of the forest, but it was darker, probably since the fire had gone out.

Finally, Vritra's gaze landed on Sana.

He wasn't surprised as he saw her staring back at him, so he just averted his gaze.

' I wonder if the things I saw in those visions could actually be changed, ' he wondered.

Then he glanced back at the group of rune masters who were preparing food of their own, some distance away from them.

Then he walked to one of the stones and sat down, but he sat on the stone opposite to where he was seated in that vision to check if anything would change.
