[If you enjoy MMORPG then you might enjoy this one. It won't jump into action immediately since I like to build my characters. However, if you want to actually enjoy a full story from every side then be my guest :).] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yooo, the author here. Finally, I am starting my second book. Chapter 14- Paradise Online (Part 1)

Chapter 14- Paradise Online (Part 1)

Reo cracked his fingers before he made a light stretch for all of his limbs. It wasn't really that necessary, but the reason for this nonchalant attitude was the faint glow in his eyes. While not being as strong as the time he used it against Oliver and his friends, the glow was still present there.

Cassia didn't seem to be aware of the small change in his eyes as she immediately opened her arm and lightning started crackling inside them. Then she rushed toward the hordes of monsters fearlessly.

Seeing how their target was coming straight toward them, the monsters screeched and focused on Cassia. Tens and tens of Uruvs were now solely targeting Cassia.

"Oi," Reo called for her.

He knew that fighting that many monsters directly was very stupid with her low level. However, Cassia didn't wait or turn around.

*Crackle*

The lightning intensified, and soon, a small ball of electricity started floating inside Cassia's hand. Then, the moment the first Uruv was very close to her. She extended her arm to its face and grabbed it.

*Bang*

The monster's head exploded like a balloon, and blood splattered everywhere. Then Cassia pulled up the monster's corpse before it fell down and then threw it at the other monsters.

The moment the corpse touched the other monsters.

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

A series of explosions erupted across the army of Uruvs. Screeches of pain filled the whole world as they got electrocuted, one after the other. The lightning fried their organs and brains, so the pain must've been unimaginable.

Cassia wasn't over as she immediately dashed toward a monster close by and sent a punch to its stomach. The monster wasn't able to react on time.

The monster spat out saliva as the punch distorted its insides.

Then she grabbed the monster and bent its body to a very weird angle.

*Snap*

The Uruv was snapped in half like a piece of paper and then thrown to the side like a piece of garbage. Then Cassia simply wiped the blood from her face and glared coldly at the monsters.

Reo watched this brutal scene with a stupefied look.

'I never thought her methods were this brutal.' He thought to himself.

She wasn't disgusted by blood, nor was she hesitant when she snapped their bones or destroyed their heads like a nut.

As he was standing there watching her, a group of Uruvs took the opportunity and tried to sneak up on him from behind. The grass was slightly tall, so that made it easier for these monsters to hide with their small sizes.

"RAAAAA!!!" five of them jumped at him at the same time.

Reo didn't look back and simply bent to the side, letting the pass before he extended his legs and kicked two of them down.

"Too slow." He muttered.

Then, he pulled out a stack of claws he got from these monsters before. He had many of them in his inventory that were basically unusable, so he wanted to at least get rid of them.

The Uruvs that fell down stood up again and tried to attack him again. However, what welcomed them midway was a sharp claw that pierced their stomach easily and escaped from the other side.

The monster's eyes rolled back, and they fell dead.

Reo glanced at the result with a satisfied look before he looked at the rest of the Uruvs.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[Ding!]
[You have killed 2 level 1 Uruv!]
[You have gained 2 experience points.]
[You have gained no new items.]
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The rest of them felt fear creep into their hearts as they looked into the young man's eyes. Even though these monsters weren't intelligent at all, their instincts told them that fighting him meant certain gruesome death.

So, they turned around and started running away.

"Hunt time," Reo muttered with a smile.

He aimed one of the claws at a random monster before he threw it with all of his strength.

*Swish*

The claw flew swiftly and plunged into the monster's back, killing it on the spot. Then, another one was thrown after it, and another one after that. Reo kept throwing claws and hitting Uruvs as if they were ducks in the air. He didn't miss one single shot.

In less than a minute, he emptied the claws he had, leaving some of the Uruvs to run away. He didn't want to bother chasing after them since they ran away of their own accord.

He then eyed Cassia, who also seemed to have killed a few more before they ran away.

'How did she struggle with that Uruv before if she was able to butcher them in masses like that?' He thought to himself with a confused look.

He was about to check the many notifications he got after killing that many Uruvs but stopped when he heard a cry for help from a survivor… Or to be more precise, survivors.

There were many injured people that were still laying down there. He was about to ask why they didn't just log out, but Cassia seemed to have read his mind.

"They need to at least stay out of battle for 60 seconds before they can log out."

He nodded his head before asking another question.

"Why did the game turn out like that? This is very brutal. I don't think any normal person will play the game after hearing about this stuff."

Cassia merely looked down before she said in a low tone.

"You underestimate human greed way too much." She said,

"Huh?"

He didn't understand what she meant, but she didn't bother to explain at all. The girl just walked to the survivors and told them to wait until they could log out. The air of coldness around here was still there, but Reo could feel the kindness in her voice. This only proved to him that she was not a bad person at all… Just very mysterious.

"Goddamit! How did it turn out like this?!" A voice whispered not too far away from Reo.

The owner of the voice was the boy who suggested that everyone should just work together to clear the tutorial. He seemed to be the leader of this group.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Ah… Yes, yes… I am… Fine." He tried to smile slightly, but Reo could still see the anger and sadness in his face not going anywhere.

"Don't blame yourself. It was out of your control."

"But… But… They relied on me for this and they ended up with a traumatizing experience they will never forget for the rest of their lives. How can I not blame myself?!"

Reo sighed and didn't reply. He had nothing to say at all. He also wanted an explanation from the game developers. The boy had entered this world with the intention of playing and having some fun. But, the way they programmed the fighting in this game is nothing short of evil. Basically, every creature could do anything to the player. Even skinning them alive, burning them, cutting them to pieces, and even eating them alive bit by bit. This twisted realism was not something that normal people should experience at all. No one should experience that, for that matter. The backlash would be simply unimaginable.

He didn't know why, but he was sure that if things continued like that, he would quit the game. As much as he didn't care about blood and gore that didn't apply to Rena, who just the mere thought of seeing her suffering would make him lose his mind. He would never want to see her suffer from pain because of a mere game.
