Confidence of a God Part 2

After walking for a couple of minutes, they arrived in a small corridor with many rooms, "You can pick your rooms, mine is the master room at the end of the corridor. If you seek anything, don't be afraid to let me know." Pontus turned and was about to leave, when he paused, "Xenia, follow me."

Xenia, while confused, followed Pontus, pondering how he knew her name.

The other women stood there watching the receding back of Pontus and Xenia; did he just leave them alone in such a massive maze? They couldn't even remember all the twists and turns they made along the way.

Signing, the females decide to check the rooms out together, becoming even more shocked than before.

The room was massive, with a giant bed with clouds for bed. All of them could sleep on the bed together and still have space leftover. There were large wardrobes, filled with clothing, for both men or women.

The clothes were the kind they had never seen before, but they look very tasteful.

Windows made of glass, which showed the scene outside, seeing the many sea creatures casually swimming by, avoiding the massive beast which was the palace.

Walking a distance away from the others, Pontus stopped and looked at Xenia, bluntly asking, "What did you do before serving Zoe? I notice you are not as pure as the other females, I want to know why."

Indeed, he didn't care, however now that she was to be his, he didn't want any unnecessary drama. If she had a problem, he would simply quell her, and toss her body to the fishes.

As a former slave, he knew it was wrong to waste food and since he was going to rule the oceans, it was his duty to feed his subjects.

Xenia didn't remember showing too much knowledge, so how could he know she wasn't pure? Maybe it was a skill of the gods. If he was talking about her chastity, she was no virgin, she had her fair share of men, but that doesn't mean she was a loose woman.

All the men she had an intimate relationship with were single, she made sure to check. Sometimes she became stressed at the mission she must accomplish, which she could only forget in battle and sex, "Could you be more specific?"

"You are more intelligent than you let on. How can you be serving such a naïve and simple-minded girl? Not only that, from your fate, I observe that you are tainted, you are not completely good." Pontus wanted to see the limitation of his power. He was given a lot of power but he didn't know how much or the limits to it. Does his power even have a limit, to begin with?

Xenia frowned slightly, there are many things she did in her lifetime that she wasn't proud of, but to say she wasn't pure doesn't seem right. If protecting oneself from the whim of men, and seeking a path in this world wasn't pure, then what is? If it was men that did the same thing, would he say the same thing?

Biting her lips, her head lowered with her blonde covered blue eyes. While she was a woman, she was a warrior first and foremost. She didn't want to be seen as a weakling, especially not in front of her future husband. Not that she chooses to marry him on her own, "I killed my previous master."

Pontus's face change for the first time when he heard that. Was she a slave like him? Or was she a war slave? "Why did you kill your master?"

"I'm the illegitimate daughter of one of the oligarchs of Athens. My mother had been a slave in the market, seeing my mother's beauty, that man, my father found her attractive and bought her. One thing led to another, and my mother became pregnant with me. You see I was an accident, I was not supposed to be born, this was something my father was adamant about. He sought to kill my mother, so I wouldn't be born. Fortunately, fate seems to be on our side, and we fled. I was born on the plains between Thebes and Athens when these cities were at war with one another. My mother, without a wet nurse there to help, died. I was then picked up by a wounded warrior on the battlefield who raised me as his own, he became my father. He soon died in one of the clashes between Sparta and Athens, and I became a slave. Since I gained my mother's beauty, I was being groomed to become a plaything of one of the oligarchs. Ironically, the person who bought me turned out to be my birth father, who lusts after his own daughter. I don't deny it, I killed my father, a man who is worse than a beast. How could he try to kill his child because of the fear of exposure? He probably didn't want his assets to fall in my hand, someone of low birth. I guess if killing one's father could make one impure, then I am. Sadly, I don't care about being impure, nor do I regret my actions."

'Her past is worse than I thought, even worse than mine. I don't pity her, because it's all those trials and tribulations that made her the woman I see her today. If she was accepted by her father, it's perhaps unlikely for her to be here, and is probably unlikely for her to gain the skills she possesses. Although to me they are nothing but childish skills.'

"Xenia, what you said is correct, no one can judge you and decide if your actions were just or not. If you have power, you can decide the rules and no one could speak against you. It's a fact that you are impure, but I never said that was a bad thing, I only seek to know the truth. You five will be living with me for many years, perhaps, if you are lucky forever."

Pontus walked towards one of the walls and touched it, causing a window to appear showing the blue ocean, "I don't need a beautiful woman that is useless, I need people who can aid me in my duties. The oceans are unorganized, the territories lack protection and powerful servants. Your duties as my wives don't just end at giving me children, it is to rule alongside me. I cannot promise you that I will be loyal to just you five, I can however promise you that your current status will not be harmed or taken without reason. As my wife, if you wish to avenge yourself by destroying Athens I will gladly summon the waves and flood everything." However, I hope you don't choose this. If I flood Athens, my fellow Primordial Gods might get angry and talk to Ainz.

Xenia's eyes became watery below her long hair, her shoulder trembled a little, as she restrained herself.

She didn't think that's all he had to say, he was so understanding; if she had told someone else, they would have killed her for killing a noble. It didn't matter if she was in the right or not, everyone knew that the nobles exist above the laws. The only thing that could harm a noble was another noble. It was probably because he was a god, he didn't have the same morals or understanding as mortals. This side of him made her feel warm inside, she didn't mind staying if it meant she could be true to herself after 25 years of life. No one understands how fake her smiles and intimate moments had been, she only did those in other to accomplish her mission and to relieve stress that could impede her in battle.

"My...Pontus, there is no need to destroy Athens, there is no point in making enemies out of Athena. Plus none of the people are guilty of what happened to me." Looking up at Pontus, her smile was beautiful, capable of warming the sun.

Pontus's eyes narrowed as this was the purest smile he had seen since becoming a god. Was she pure or impure? Activating again, showed that her karma had changed to Good. Was it because she spoke to him? Could he change people's fate? Pontus knew that if Ainz truly plans on creating the Greek and Roman Pantheons, that would mean people with evil or similar karma(fate) would be sent to Tartarus, either upon death or during life.

As for her mention of Athena? Pontus didn't plan to tell her that the gods hadn't been born yet and she was going to be the mother of many of them.

A thought hit him, wouldn't it be fun to have a pantheon of just water base gods?

While the thought was interesting, Pontus thought he should wait. He would need support to do that, but which of the Primordial Gods would help him?

Unless there was profit, he didn't see that happening.

"Truly beautiful, I believed I was staring at the sun looking at your smile. Our children will surely be beautiful." Pontus knelt before her, being as gently as he could, hugging her. "As I said, I don't plan to harm any of you. I doubt anyone in this world could give you. If you give yourself completely to me, I shall make you the happiest woman in the world."

Xenia, closed her eyes, and returned the gesture. She felt safe and warm in his embrace. She never felt this with the men she slept with before, all they wanted was to satisfy their lust, Pontus, however, could do so if he wanted but chose not to. She wasn't in love with him, but she wasn't against giving birth to his children as she secretly did before. She had trauma from things such as child birth after all her father tried to kill, her unborn self.

Feeling Xenia hugging him back, Pontus knew he had conquered one of the five women. As long as he conquered all of them and prevented them from seeking ways to escape when he finally gave them freedom they would remain with him. He knew his method was dirty as he was playing with her feelings, but anything goes when accomplishing the mission.

Xenia's eyes flashed with a cold look, as she senses Pontus' scheme a mile away. If not because she couldn't kill him, Pontus would be dead. She was a warrior but before that, she was a smart woman. The story she told was true, it just wasn't hers. The reason her fate was impure was probably because of the amount of people she had killed. She is guessing if she continued from the tone Pontus used, the gods might interfere.

She wasn't against having his children, she loves strong men, after all, the weak ones became bones for the dogs. She will become his wife, protecting Zoe as long as possible. She was the only one to treat her like family in such a long time, and to some extent, Xenia saw Zoe as her daughter, otherwise, she wouldn't speak out to a god for her.

Two people with two different agendas, yet compromising with one another without knowing that they are the same kind of animal.
