angels are overrated

'Their intel is better than I thought. Otherwise they would have never made such a plan.'

Akabaru could see Gazef stop shooting as he put away his bow after realising his arrows couldn't do anything to the mages without having any special enchantments to breach the magic shields of the mages.

Magic spells began to be shot at them with some blasting beside Akabaru himself as he ran forward, not everyone was as skilled as he was though and some even died in the first folly of spells.

Gazef took on a blocking stance in order to resist their magic, while Akabaru dodged taking advantage of his higher mobility.

Just then, the horse between gazefs legs whinnied loudly and reared up, its front legs kicking the air.

"Go! Go! Go!"

Akabaru watched a flustered and panting Gazef lashed his mount's flanks, but the horse remained still, as though someone more important than its rider were giving it orders.

He leapt off his horse, and his galloping subordinates guided their mounts around him, flowing past him on both sides.

One of the angels decided that the ones on the ground were the best to attack. And so it swooped down faster than they could get support.

Gazef drew his sword and swung at the angel. Cutting the angels torso.

"I will manage without help, just get to the mages!" Gazef ordered Akabaru forward

He had stopped after witnessing the warrior captain being halted.

"Are you sure, warrior captain?"

Gazef nodded giving Akabaru the cue to move ahead.

….

As Akabaru left continued forward, Gazef activate a spell. [Focus Battle Aura], making his blade glow crimson.

Gazef looked around, saw the enemies advancing on him in an endless tide — and smiled watching a single person charge to the group of mages.

As he cursed the magic casters who could easily do what warriors could not, Gazef calmly took stock of the enemies surrounding him, and confirmed that this was everyone who was surrounding the village.

That would mean that the encirclement of the village was lifted.

Looking at his subordinates

"I told you to scatter once the blockade went down… truly, you're a bunch of fools… and truly, I'm proud of you." With that he spirited forward

Charging forward into the midst of battle

A reckless approach to end this conflict quickly. Akabaru was jumping of and stomping the angels that tried to stops him from reaching their leader.

He moved with reckless abandonment dodging the swings of his enemies while moving forward.

As he moved a group of thirty angels put themselves in his way blocking Akabaru from advancing any step further.

He had gotten to close to the mages to be left alone.

"Out of my way—"

Akabaru activates [fighters will] freezing the angels for a moment before crushing the two closest to him and using their mangled but still alive bodies to strike at the others that were in the way, opening a gap he could charge through.

Akabaru smiled seeing the fearful faces of the mages as most of them were freaking out. He couldn't blame them as watching a 7 feet tall man run through your defences would scare anyone not expecting it.

As he got closer, angels reappeared as some had time to resummon their angels. Eventually making it a one verse's ten mages and five angles and one soon to be dead leader.

"Who are you?" The leader of the mage troop spoke.

"I am a wanderer there is no need to introduce myself as you will die the moment you begin to comprehend who I am." Akabaru stopped to taunt, he didn't feel any risk from them, not to mention their arrogance which he felt the need to squash.

"Preposterous, you might be fast but can you defeat four angels and one higher angel all on your own, angels attack."

The five angels move Akabaru's way, encircling him. The angles that were still behind him moved on to the warrior troop of the kingdom leaving Akabaru to be dealt with by their leader.

Deciding that he should take them out with one punch to increase the fear in their eyes, Akabaru use [way of the fist – steel wind strike] unleashing blades of wind as hard as steel, killing al the angels in one go.

"Hahahaha. Is that al you got."

Akabaru laughed while loosening his arms, casually moving forward as he did so.

"Im-Im-Impossible!!!!!" the leader shouted amidst his confusion.

His subordinates shouted in turn voicing their fears.

"It can't be! It's impossible!! Nobody can defeat a high tier angel with just one spell!!! What kind of man are you!!!? It's impossible that nobody's heard of you before!!!!! What is your name!!!!!!?" The leader went on a rant as he grasped his head in confusion.

"Cap-Captain, what, what should we do...?" His subordinates weren't much better of than him.

"Figure it out yourself! I'm not your mother!" calming down the leader ordered "Protect me! Protect me if you want to live!" he shouted while taking out a crystal.

"[Charm Person], [Iron Hammer of Righteousness], [Hold], [Fire Rain], [Emerald Sarcophagus], [Holy Ray], [Shockwave], [Confusion], [Charge of Stalagmite], [Open Wounds], [Poison], [Fear], [Word of Curse], [Blindness]..."

All kids of spells started to rain down on Akabaru.

Yet, even as the storm of magic lashed against him, Akabaru was unmoved. Focusing on the cristal instead

"Not even one spell of a high tier, pathetic." Akabaru stood there tanking the hits without damage.

The rain of spells reside and Akabaru was left in a drawn up dust cloud. When it cleared up he was met by a descending angel that he had let them summon hoping for a better fight.

The angel descended upon the earth, and Nigun exclaimed.

"Behold! The glorious visage of the highest angel! Dominion Authority!"

"Really…. Why do I keep getting disappointed."

Nigun, who had been extremely uneasy, wanted to breathed a sigh of relief. But all his dreams were crushed before they started.

"Huh! This is an angel of the highest order.!"

"How stupid, even this is not really worthy of my time. I overestimated you."

Akabaru moved faster than they could notice arriving right before the leaders face while gearing hmself up to punch him into the air with a mighty uppercut.

He could see the leaders face change with the realization of what situation he was in, wanting to shout at the angel and command it to protect him… but it was too late, Akabaru's fist connected to his chin before his first words could come out, breaking it with an audioble crunch.

While the are still shocked he charge them and pummel their faces in. killing most of them instantly. The leader was badly alife trying to desperately say something, to command to beg, but the only thing that came out of his mouth was blood.

Blocking his throat causing him to start chocking while crying ugly tears.

He seemed to pray as he put his hands togheter te same way he did at the start of the conflict, only to be crushed under Akabaru's boot.

Some blood spatters hit Akabaru's face, while wiping them of he noticed that he had a small smile on it that had formed subconsciously.

Picking up the cristal Akabaru desummoned the angel that was now just standing by waiting for an order.

-

With the leader dead, An his task finished Akabaru watch how only four soldiers were left with Gazef striking the last mage down near them, without much resistance. Some of the mages got away from the battlefield but not from the eight edged assassins.

Akabaru walked up to Gazef to check on him.

"You good?" He had stopped smiling, realizing that it might come of wrong.

"Thanks to you and Gown-dono, yes." Gazef seemed to be tired after the battle. Catching his breath while leaning on his sword.

"Did the amulet help that much?" While he did seem tired it was nothing compared to the others who lay on the ground only alive because of Gazaf saving them.

"Yes, he gave me this amulet as a gift. I don't know it specific enchantment but it did help me a great deal." He says showing the pendant that Akabaru had seen before

'the pendant of love, didn't think he swinged that way.'

Akabaru tried to get a closer look at the pendant

"Do you know what it Is Fear-dono?" Gazef asked confused by Akabaru's interest.

"It protects a warrior from decease, poison and is said to give a small boost to dexterity."

"Such a great item…was just gifted to me?" Gazef looked shocked, probably never expecting two immunity effects.

"I think he likes and respect you, so it isn't strange to give this to you. You should just keep it with you at all times." Gazef couldn't die before repaying the dept of gratitude he had given Akabaru. Otherwise where would've get paid.

"Of course Faer-dono." Gazef nodded, seemingly revitalize after a short while rest.

"I just got one last question, you don't happen to have a girlfriend or something right?"

"Where did that question come from?"

Gazef looked a little flustered

"Just asking for a friend?"
