Chapter 23 ~ The successful plan... or maybe not so successful.

•Y/N POV•

"How often do you feel like this? Like you don't know where you fit in the world? Like you feel you can't help those who you hold dear to you? How often do you feel...

Like...

You just...

don't know who you are anymore?"

That question, right there, had been stuck on my mind ever since I had visited the psychiatrist. She has been helping, but without Kai it just hasn't been the same. The heroes had caught him 15 days ago, and had sent him and the rest of the Yakuza to a prison. Specifically in the same prison that All for One had been sent to.

Word has it, that he lost his hands. His arms. But I just don't know if I believe it. I mean, how could someone lose their hands, arms and quirk overall; out of nowhere?

I sat there while aimlessly writing the essay that was due for this Friday. Christmas.

I had been asked to develop a Christmas movie, but I really didn't know how much Christmas spirit I could have while Overhaul was in prison. A cold, dark, damp prison. Alone. Without his Yakuza. Without me. Though, I'm sure I wasn't a big concern to him anymore. Not since we had kissed on the sofa at his former base.

Oh right, they had raided that, too.

Anything and everything was taken without a trace, in fact.. they wiped Kai Chisaki completely off the system, along with his whole gang. They had vanished. Wiped from the face of the Earth.

I grabbed my purse and rummaged through it, grabbing about 300 yen to take to a vending machine down the hall from the university apartment I was situated in.

As I walked down the hall, the lights flickered. The usual beam was gone, dimmed, like my mood nowadays. My heels clicked, echoing around, miserably.

I was lonely. Alone. Cold. Just like I'm sure Kai was and no matter how evil his intentions truly were, my care for him wouldn't ever change.

I slid the yen into the machine and punched a code in, waiting for my drink to fall. That was when my tears dripped down my face, slowly falling to my knees, I leaned on the machine and sobbed.

Firstly, Shiguraki is shot and killed; then our asses are saved.

Secondly, I lose my quirk to Kai.

And now? Now he was gone and it had only just hit me, sunk in, even.

I continued to cry for God knows how long before I heard a pitter patter on the polished concrete floor behind me.

I swivell around quickly, wiping my eyes which were bound to be red and puffy with make-up smeared down my cheeks. Damn, I just didn't care at this point.

There was a subtle hiss before something hit me on my shoulder.

I quickly looked over and noticed a dark silhouette down the hall, crouched and subtly edging away from me while facing me, watching me the entire time.

I didn't want to know.

I had no means of defending myself except a plastic can filled with cold coffee, which I imagined wouldn't do much to threaten the being.

I edged away as well, before bolting back to my room and slamming the front door shut. Exhaling deeply, I went to my room and stopped dead in my tracks, before I screamed.
