As they brainstormed, Paige's phone buzzed on the desk, shrill and insistent. She glanced at the screen and raised an eyebrow as she saw her sister's name flashing on the caller ID. Snatching the phone, she moved away from the rest.
"What do you want, Itzel?" she asked, her voice firm but with a hint of annoyance.
"Ah, Paige. I just wanted to call and gloat," Itzel said, her voice dripping with smugness. Paige could almost hear her sister's smirk over the phone. "I hear your little product launch is in trouble. What a shame."
Paige rolled her eyes and leaned back in her chair, her fingers drumming a staccato beat on the armrest. "I can see you're trying so hard Itzy." she said, her voice laced with sarcasm. "But let me tell you, I'm not impressed. You're just mad things aren't going your way."
Itzel laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "Oh, Paige. You have no idea what I'm capable of. I'm the one who's been pulling the strings all along."
