Otome Game: Hidden Capture Target

After a whole afternoon of failed playthroughs of various games, a semi-famous indie streamer known for his harsh criticisms finds himself diving headfirst into a new genre of Otome-Styled games. Finding himself quickly hooked, he rated one of such to be superior to the others when it came to his own personal tastes, a game centered around the capture of multiple male leads and gaining power like in typical rpg fashion. His ability to quickly familiarize himself with the mechanics, and even point out various writing flaws within the game garnered him quite a lot of attention. Enough so that the creator themselves reached out to get into contact with him. After a few back and forth talks with them they revealed that as a thank you, they would include him as a character in the sequel of the game. Exited he immediately decided to celebrate with a nice cold beer, unbeknownst to him that it would be his last. Later finding himself in a foreign body with nothing but a series of random notifications ringing in his head, his life having changed forever. (PS: This is my second work so please bear with me if my storytelling is off. I hope you enjoy what I've written)

Chapter 2: Lucifer Astéri

'Where am I..'

Basking in the endless silence of the fancy adorned room i feel my body-No, it would be more accurate to say 'this' body, feels sluggish to no end.

The unfamiliar surroundings only serve to give me a sense of unease, even the emptiness of this room pales in comparison to the endless void I spent an eternity in.

I remember it very clearly, I was trapped in that..abyss, for gods know how long.

Every second in that space felt like an eternity, the searing loneliness threatening to devour my mind scape like a hungry beast was excruciating.

I nearly lost my mind, or rather I already had, my sense of clarity within dwindled to an unfathomable degree, enough so to where I doubt I was even alive through that whole experience.

Which begs the question I've been pondering ever since I opened my eyes.

'How..did I escape?'

Though I've often fantasized of what life, or existence would be like away from an endless stream of nothingness, never in my wildest imaginations did I ever consider the idea that it would eventually happen.

Small tears stream down my cheeks as I raise my hand to the ceiling fan hanging from my bedroom, seemingly grasping at the endless possibilities that lie within the dusty and crude carving with its wings.

'I-Is this real..am I really..alive..'

Tears continue flowing as I lay in the soft embrace of the aristocratic cushions of the bed, it's gentle and

warm embrace bringing a sense of comfort and ease.

However, even that small and comforting peace was broken by the sound of a small and melodious ding, it's rings sent forth a wave of uncertainty.

[Ding!]

It's gentle hymns akin to the sound of the devils whisper as it's familiar sound brings a sense of dread and worry. Cold shivers spread through my body as an unclear memory of the same sound resurfaces.

The hazy view of the buzzing light of a blue screen monitor dominates my mind, as a text similar in comparison to that dim light reflects within my iris.

A blue text box floating within the air, untethered by any constraints within this mortal realm, it read a message delivered by a once again familiar yet unknown name:

[Ding!]

[New message from: YourDaddy777

"Hey buddy! How've ya been! I know you might h confused and all but I just wanted to apologize! Because of me I accidentally sent you into 'that' place! As compensation for my mistake I decided to give you an additional gift! I'm sure you'll love it. Cya bud!"]

A sense of confusion and unbridled rage encompassed my mind as I read the absurd message, however before I could even muster a vowel or two in complaint, a sharp and powerful pain smashed into my head.

"GAHH!"

Squirming within the aristocratic cushions I gripped the sides of my temple as a feeling despair washed over me, like several hammers clobbering into my brain in attempt to destroy my rational mind once more I persisted, enduring the unfathomable degree of anguish now being seared into my mind.

————————————

Time seemed to flow unconstrained as my sense of awareness faded, buried under the waves of agony rendering my mind null.

Sweat dripped from my body as the pristine white covers were now drenched in a fowl and wet smell, dazed and confused after what felt like hours of undiluted torture, I manage to crawl my way out of bed.

Searching the room form any washroom so that I may throw up the vomit threatening to stain the floors.

Stumbling my way into an arched doorway to the left of the bed I unloaded all the built up nausea as the Snow White sink was stained with a new coating of yellow and green.

"Haah..haahh.. what.. the hell.."

With heavy breaths I wash my face and mouth with the running water opens from the tap of the sink, enjoying the cool sensation it has in my skin as I look up towards the mirror hanging above.

"Huh..who's that.."

A handsome, almost ethereal figure of unmatched beauty reflected towards me, his ink black hair waved naturally on his head, the crimson red irises brought a sense of malicious intent while emitting a cold and unattached feeling.

His skin was a healthy pale tone and his physical features were soft yet angled as if sculpted carefully from an ancient stone marble.

The only thing wrong with the appearance of such a person was their gaze resting on my own.

Confused I waved my hand as the man followed, his actions managing to perfectly mimic my own.

Gradually, at the sight of this figure an unopened door in my brain clicked open, as a stream of memories came pouring in my mind, each and every single scent, voice, sight contained within was absorbed at a frantic pace, reclaiming it as its rightful property.

And within these memories a name came with, it was the name of the man reflected within the mirror, a name synonymous with many's idea of chaos and despair.

A name no one should utter under any pretense should they value their lives.

"Lucifer Astéri.."

And this very person..was me.

"B-But..how, isn't this name.."

[Ding!]

As if to answer my doubts a familiar ding rang as a new message popped up. The blue screen akin to the sight of one's incoming draft letter.

[You have a new message from: YourDaddy777

Hello again! By now you should've already understood the situation from the memory implant I did for you. And yes you are correct! This isn't your world anymore, not that you'd remember it! It's the world of Medieval Erotic Adventure!]

"I knew it..then the person in the mirror, or the new..'me', Is.."

Awaiting for the barrage of messages to end I make my way back to the bed after exiting the bathroom.

Feeling loopy I take a seat on the damp mattress, organizing my thoughts and memories I summarize the basic societal structure and history behind the world, at-least from Lucifer's point of view.

Before that though I can't help but feel a faint sense of worry from the so called creator of this world.

'Please entertain me..what exactly did they mean by that.. was whatever happened to me not a coincidence? What about the abyss I spent so long in, was that planned too or was it really a mistake.'

Doubts and questions surge my mind as a growing sense of dread, the fear of the unknown creeps up on me. Feasting on any small fragment of doubt and anxiety.

'Let's just forget about that.. how do I access this "status", do I just call it out?'

In blind faith I remember the deep blue screen that appeared seemingly- no from literally out of nowhere, it's dim shine echoes in my memories as I mutter within my subconscious.

'Status..'
