Look At You Longer

Jefri left me alone and for some reason I just stared at him away without asking again. Today's class is Math class which is on the third floor. I was sitting at the back near the window suddenly when I looked out the window I saw Jefri riding a motorbike with some of his friends who I never knew before and they finally left. Suddenly the classroom door opened and I then turned around, the math teacher was entering and starting to greet the friends in the class.

"Someone didn't come today." The bespectacled teacher examined one by one the benches in the class and then stared longer at Jefri's bench and turned to me while asking "Fania, where is Jefri?".

I just kept silent and started to get confused about answering, suddenly a guy in the class replied "Fania, you're Jefri's girlfriend, let's answer." greeted by loud cheers from other friends.

I was confused between answering the teacher's question and confused with the words of my classmates and the cheers of joy.

"I don't know ma'am." I said.

"I thought you were his girlfriend, you would know." The teacher said as she opened her book.

"That's not true, ma'am, it's just a gossip hoax from friends." I said.

I don't know why when I said that I regretted it and wished I could take those words back. Seen the figure of Michael who was in the middle of the bench turned to me and smiled happy to see me.

"I don't know why Jefri always skips class every lesson instead of being present, Alright, let's continue yesterday's lesson." The teacher started to explain one by one from today's class lesson. Suddenly I turned to Jefri's empty seat which was right beside me. I can only take a deep breath, it turns out that what happened in the past is still the same. Jefri still likes to play truant. I smiled and said to myself " If only you knew I wanted to stare at you a little longer."

The lesson was over and finally it was time to go home, because there was a class cleaning activity after school, my schedule changed to going home late. I don't know why this past incident happened again when I crossed the music extracurricular room I heard someone playing the piano of Yiruma's song "River Flow In You" I thought. In the past, in the past I went straight away without paying attention to the tone of the voice but somehow today my heart was moved to peek through the window and I saw "Jefri" I said I hastily pushed open the classroom door and made him turn around.

"What are you doing still here?" he stopped playing the piano.

"I heard the sound of people playing the piano, so I came here and it was you." I smiled at him.

He then continued to play the piano and I then sat next to him. For some reason staring at him this longer up close made me even more stunned.

"Wanna play?" he turned to me.

"I can't." I said.

Then he took my hand and started to teach me from behind. Dag Dig Dug my heart is really beating faster. It turned out that the other side of Jefri that I never knew before he was musically smart and gentle when teaching me like never before which was annoying. After an hour playing the piano in the music room.

"Let's go home, I'll deliver you." Jefri said to me. I just nodded in agreement and walked behind him leaving the classroom.

"I thought you were skipping, why did you come back?" I said.

"I often play in the music room." he said

I wanted to ask why he was absent and ready for friends to go with him but my mouth was silent.
