Escape the school

I was now running in the hallway in full speed. After realizing zombie was attacking the school, I started running. I ran very fast but not as fast as the speaker. As soon as I realized the situation, the speaker have already spoken the situation. To make it worse, the voice in speaker was mostly a scream about killing thing. It did a very good job at spreading the despair to all students in school.

The hallway was filled with students and zombie. I could see someone was dying and someone was eaten alive. Even some people was shivered in the corner waiting for zombie to come and some are courage enough to make a run. The worst one was trampled to death. From my point of view, this was the worst situation. Although I saw how terrible this situation, I couldn't do anything. I wasn't selfish or greedy for my life.

It's just while I was running, someone tried to drag me into the horde of zombie to make a prey. Luckily for me, he just grabbed the corner of my skirt so I could repel with enough strength. I even gave him a kick for trying to throw me into the death. I had died once and I don't want to experience it once more time. If anyone try to kill me, I will kill that person first. That is why I didn't try to help others. Who know when they will try to harm me.

This situation already pissed me off. Just a minute ago, this was still a peaceful school and I was boring to study again. But now, this became a hell that anyone in here was trying to escape and I'm also one of them.

I wasn't a real person lived here, living in this universe and I was not that Ana that people usually knew. That was really bothering me right now, I didn't know the structure of this building. In other words, I was lost at this moment. So I made a gamble, there were two sections that usually was placed in school. The teacher room and security room. I chose the latter because in security room had a lot of tool that could help me a lot and teacher room was, of course, full of zombie. Since many students was learning here so the first thing they think is teacher room. I didn't want to fight those zombie for no benefits.

I had a agile mind so I didn't run on foot without arming for something. I grabbed cleaning tool on the way and I used it to distance myself from zombie. And also I discovered some fun facts that was very useful. From my observation, I could tell that all zombies were blind, they only detect living being through their nose and ears. They were technically blind so I shouldn't make something loud to attract them.

I discovered this quickly because they had too much resemblance with zombie in video game that I once played in previous life. They are slow but they are amazingly strong so don't try to engage them or be surrounded by them. It will only lead the dead end. And their number increased exponentially so don't hope they will disapper.

That also meant the government could only send army to protect in short period and this thing couldn't last longer.

According to the plot in zombie game that I played before, there will appear some group of survivors. This things won't entertain me now. Soon there will be a group of people killing people for sources, food, water, …

Back to the present, I was now on second floor. I could see many zombies blocking my ways so I tried to walk sneakily as much as possible. Some zombies tried to jump on me but I could dodge it. But that won't be a good choice. If I keep dodging, zombies will surround me. So I hid in corner, I grabbed my shoe throwing into class. I kept repeating this methods to this disperse the crowd. I didn't have infinite stamina to kill all of them so I must play this brightly.

Soon I found the security room. I must say this room was messed up. There must be something in here. Finding something not right, I locked the door and walked silently to search the source of my bad feelings.

I could hear something rustle under table. I took a quick glance and I discovered a zombie was eating the security. His face was full of tear and dread. I didn't wait it to look back so I took initiative move. I picked up the broom and aimed for its head. Using full my power, I made it fall aside. I didn't stop, I picked up the broom again and crushed its head until the broom was broken.

I breathed heavily.

"I think I need to take a rest after this. I should have picked something useful than this broom"

"Who could adapt to this kind of development" I stuttered.

While I was complaining about this life, the body behind had the sign of moving.

I could sense that the corpse behind me had already been turned into one.

The corpse was slowly standing up and I was moving far away. I looked around the room to find weapon but sadly, there was a wrench behind the zombie and I needed to walked past it.

"Now or never" I jumped on the table and walked on it.

The zombie seemed to sense me. Its hands reached out to me but I jumped to dodge it. When I nearly the wrench on the table, the zombie suddenly jumped on me. This time I was fallen from the table and the zombie was blocked for short moment.

"You will pay for this" Saying so, I stood back quickly and grabbed the wrench. The moment I grabbed the wrench, the zombie jumped on me.

I was wrestling with zombie on the ground. It tried to bite into my delicate face. I used my hands to get it away from me. The wrench was near me but the zombie was too strong. I used all strength to resist it.

I reached my other hand to the wrench. When I grabbed it, I did a strong push and swung towards its head. It lost balance and fell. Taking this moment, I hit it repeatedly in angry manner.

"Why all of this happen to me" I sat lazily on the chair and opened the board's system. It said [search the source of disease]

It was my mission and I had to complete it.

"System. Are you there? I want to ask you something" I asked in a hoarse voice.

Immediately, there was a reply back.

"Yes, host. What kind of question do you ask?" It's a emotionless voice.

"Yeah, Why you didn't inform me to let me know more"

"Because you didn't ask"

?

I needed to ask you so you can answer.

"Nevermind, so do you having a guidance for me or something likes that "

"No host, you have to deal with it by yourself"

What kind of system wants host to die. Maybe this was AI after all.

I wasn't angry with that answer since I knew It was useless. Anger only makes my brain not thinking clearly.

"So then, do you have a something like a summary of this world"

It was a short silence until it replied back.

"bollocks" I whisper. It was there from the beginning.

My inner felt hurt. If I knew this things sooner, I wouldn't have to run crazily. Then why system didn't send it from the begin.

I started to suspect this system. I had came up many conspiracy but the crazy one was this system indeed had emotions. I needed to raise its intimacy enough to make it corporate with me. I didn't know, maybe I overthought everything. That is my bad habit in the past.

Without saying anymore, I clicked the button and I saw basic thing in this world. It was the history of my current body and how it ended. And her fate ended not very well, she was eaten by zombie. So all I knew is her basic information and her view while she was alive. That's all.

"This is tired. I have no clue to begin with" I groaned in upset.

"Who care this mission. I will make a life in here" I cheered myself up.

"But first I need to get out of here"

Having decided that, I searched everything in this room. There was a school gate key, wrench, crow bar, some phone tap and I found two phones. One is my and others belonged this dead person. And all of things I found wasn't good. There was no food and water. This pressured me to take action.

"Rest in peace, I will take care it from now" I said solemnly.

I started to come up a plan escaping the school.

I had thought the plan, the plan was like this. I opened the school gate and drove the car away. There was a lot of abandoned car in the car park now. Some teachers tried to run with that.

The opening gate was easy. I just lured the zombie in the small building out. It's just that, I have never driven a car before. And I don't want to run in the apocalypse with no food and drink.

This nerved me to take the risk. Since I don't know how to drive a car, no problem, I will know soon.

I succeeded in opening the gate and now stepping into step 2.

'Driving a car and get away.'

I used the security's phone to attract zombie. I played rock music since it's very loud and it worked as I had expected.

There was a car with a key in it. I went in and turned on the engine.

*engine sound*

"Oh hell yeah, let's do this" I said triumphantly.

But the result didn't work out as I had expected.

Instead of making it running forwards, I made it run backwards.

The car crashed into the wall, its horn was reverberating through the school.

"Well, it's embarrassing" I said while hiding my face in car.

"What's a good experience. It seems like I had to run on foot right now"

I got out of the car and ran opposite of the sound of the car.

"Reality's different from game though" I shook my head in disappointment.

The horde of zombie started to get crowded. I needed to hurry.

While I was running, I could see some people also running. From their direction, I could tell that they planned to escape here by bus.

This was a golden chance. As a opportunistic I am, I shouldn't miss this chance.

I ran like my life depended on it. I made a bee-line towards the bus.

It seemed like I wasn't the only opportunistic person. I could see another group of people emerging the building. Not like the first group that was currently engaging, this group was only care about going to the bus. And this group is led by a teacher.

I was still far from them but I still saw clearly.

I raised my caution at the moment that teacher kicking the student's face to make a decoy for zombie.

Honestly, I wanted to kill that guy right now.

"This guy is up no good" I said with contempt.

"I detest most this kind of people"

Disgusting at this rate, but I still ran to the bus.

I saw that they were about to leave.

"Wait for me. I'm still here" I roared out loudly.

But the person heard me is the psychopath who kicked the student.

The only response I got was his smirk. That bastard dared to smirk me.

Then he said something to the driver. I didn't hear clearly what they said but I could understand that this wasn't a good situation for me.

Just as I have expected, the bus started to run.

"Well play. I will make you pay ten time for this"

I was almost near but since the door wasn't opened. I could only grab the bar behind the bus to hold myself.

It's a risky move for me but I had no choice left.

I could only endure myself. This thing was too slippery that I could only barely hold.

Even while holding, the bus even made a short fly making me fly into the top.

Instead holding behind, I was laying low now.

"So this is how 'fast and furious' experience like " I smiled awkwardly.
