I followed the young man he told me his name was Gale he was about 5'10 about an inch taller than me, his blue ears and tail suggested he was a cat beastkin. Getting a closer look at him I noticed that he had a cross engraved on his forehead his yellow eyes pierced me with every step we took. He clutched my shoulder as a precaution, so that I wouldn't run away as we stepped further into town. We came closer to the biggest building in town it wasn't made out of wood like the other buildings instead of stone. The building didn't stand super tall however, but it was somewhat more impressive looking than the rest.
The young man stopped me he gave me a serious look and explained, "You will now meet the boss I will warn you out of the gate since you seem new here he has a huge temper. The boss doesn't take kindly to newcomers in Northfall, be respectful call him Mr. Bellman. That is all I can offer you for advice I think he will be kinder to you since you are relatively young. Anyways enough gawking lets head inside." Gale seemed to at least care for my wellbeing to an extent, so long as I am one of them I wonder if that would change if he knew I was human.
I walked in through the front doors to what I assumed was something of a majors office, or something a long those lines. Gale Kneeled in front of the desk, and beckoned me to do the same, so I followed. I heard Numis whisper in my head, "How disgraceful," I had to ignore her, because the man in front of me was not someone I wanted to anger. The man stood over 6 feet tall he, had silver long hair, his ears slightly poked out of mess of hair, and had a a burn mark over one pigmentless eye, and his other eye was a light silver in color. The man wore purple garments that him from head to toe they were somewhat regal in origin, but had been torn in places. The man had a watch around his neck, and he seemed to be playing with it when we walked in.
Mr. Bellman looked down at me, and Gale, his silver eyes had a somewhat annoyed look on them. Mr. Bellman looked at Gale ignoring me he grunted, "Gale you and that boy better stand up I told you to stop doing that it annoys me." Gale, and I stood up in front of the desk I began to get butterflies in my stomach this man has a presence if nothing else. He seemed to be purposefully avoiding me he nodded to Gale unenthusiastically, "What is it this time Gale?" Gale straightened his back, "Boss this young man was stalking around town he seems harmless enough, but I figured I better take him to you."
"I told you to stop calling me boss too Gale," Mr. Bellman responded. Gale said in a flustered tone, "Yes b- Mr. Bellman." Mr. Bellman sighed, "I also thought I told you only come to me with important shit this kid is harmless just take him into town, and get him sorted." Gale responded, "Yes of course Mr. Bellman right away sir." I gave a sigh of a relief I guess I got lucky he didn't notice anything wrong with me. I turned to leave with Gale I was in a hurry to exit the building before Mr. Bellman noticed anything was different about me. Gale put his hand on the door, and that is when it happened, "Wait! That scent," I heard a loud yell from behind me.
I turned around to see Mr. Bellman standing away from his desk he was directly behind me his eyes were filled with hatred. Mr. Bellman grabbed me by the back of my cloak, "Did you really think you could fool my nose human!" Mr. Bellman slammed me to the ground by the back of my cloak the air got knocked out of my lungs. I looked up to see an angry glare from Mr. Bellman as he towered over me the man wasn't older than his late 20s, but he had the aura of a jaded man in his 40s. Numis screamed into my mind, "Run Kreyol you are no match for this man he will kill you!" I guess even Numis could feel fear as I could feel that this man was not someone I could defeat in my current state.
Mr. Bellman slammed his foot down my my stomach further driving me into a state of panic as I grasped to try to get air into my lungs. Mr. Bellman picked me up by the collar I could see Gale out of the corner of my eyes as white as a sheet. Gale yelled over to Mr. Bellman, "Vesper please wait he's just a kid dammit not the execution grounds." Mr. Bellman carried me towards a door in the back of the building by the throat, so I was unable to struggle to get away. He threw me out the door, and I landed hard on the dirt outside further damaging my body.
Once I regained sense of things I realized that I was in open space behind the building barbed wire covered the tops of the around six foot fence. Mr. Bellman was standing front of me guarding the only other exit out of this death trap. He glared me dead in the eyes his face cold as ice, "Kid you made a big mistake coming here to Northfall I don't know why you are here, but consider yourself dead meat. These grounds are rarely used, but I carry out the execution of criminals here." Gale called out behind him, "Vesper wait come on you can't fall to the level of those humans in Falrock. Execution based on race isn't fair, and you know it."
Mr. Bellman turned around briefly, "Shut it Gale I don't give a shit if he's a kid, or not we have strict rules here. I should also remind you we are at war if this kid was sent here to spy on us what if he found information that could cause our own people to die." Gale seemed to cower away from Vesper when he was angry like this it would seem that talking was futile. Mr. Bellman turned to me again, "Plus he knew what he was doing he tried to trick us with his scent I have no idea how he got in here, but trespassing comes with a price." Mr. Bellman licked his lips seemingly excited, "This rat came into our home trying to take away cheese, but we got him in a mouse trap now!"
Mad eyes leapt towards me in a stunned state I grabbed my new sword I avoided a direct hit, but he still managed to land a grazing blow into my arms. I tried to stand, but Mr. Bellman leapt at me again in a frenzy I swung wide at Mr. Bellman he stepped backwards a bit to avoid its range. I used this chance to stand up I jumped as far back as this cage would let me get in order to gain some distance on Mr. Bellman. Mr. Bellman smiled, "Humans in the past trapped our kind the same way I have done to you now. How does it feel knowing you will die trapped, and afraid only able to run away from my attacks." I noticed a crowd began to form around the fence it would seem that the building being in the center of town meant that many people heard the commotion.
I heard chants of the people of Northfall they seemed excited that a fight was taking place, or rather an execution in this case. Mr. Bellman mocked, "Make this fun for me kid I have been stressed lately with the battles between Falrock, and Northfall." He got on all fours and leapt with inhuman speed towards me again, I attempted to block his razor sharp claws, but in the end he stabbed me near my heart. I staggered back my hand clutching the region next to my heart, I fell back onto the base of the wooden fence. Mr. Bellman cackled, "I missed your heart on purpose I want the final blow to look good for the crowd afterall, but you are good right there kid I will take you out in a moment."
He was having fun he started raising his hands up in the air, and the crowd grew louder as he took a stance. This was it I guess it was a good run, but I can't see how I can beat this guy he is a monster, and I am gravely wounded. Numis called out to me, "I wouldn't call it quits so soon Kreyol I think it is time we make this bastard pay for disrespecting a god." I thought to myself, "Fusion, but isn't it too late for that?" Numis chided, "Kreyol it is never too late to fuse you seem to not realize what you are capable of now. You alone could never beat this monster of a man, but together we can win." Mr. Bellman charged at me for the final attack, but Numis started the fusion before he his charge, and I began to glow. My body began to change, and I felt the same power I had felt when I fought the deer I braced myself for Mr. Bellman's attack.
