Maybe because I was only focused on talking to Old Donkey, I didn't notice anything we hit. Seeing Old Donkey so nervous, I thought we might have hit someone. I quickly followed Old Donkey in opening the car door and stepping out.
By the time I got around to the front of the car, Old Donkey was already crouching on the ground, peering underneath, as though he was trying to find whatever it was we had collided with.
"Uncle Donkey, what did we hit just now?" I also looked around but didn't see anything.
"Damn spooky, I clearly saw something dart out, and I can be sure we definitely hit something, otherwise there wouldn't have been a muffled sound." Old Donkey frowned, his face full of confusion. Although he spoke of spookiness, he secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
