“I’m very well aware of my position in Derek’s life, you don’t need to remind me, Miss Mills…”

As calmly as possible, I tried to respond but I knew somewhere on my face it was reflected that I didn’t like her comment about me at all.

And it was good, she should know her limits.

Even if she owned billions of people, she didn’t own me at all.

Not yet, not ever.

“Glad to hear this…” She responded more sarcastically and I tried to not scoff at her face.

And just as I finished my dinner, and attempted to leave, out of nowhere, a waiter appeared with dessert and I looked at him, puzzled.

“I didn’t order this,” I told him politely but still he placed it in front of me.

“I ordered it for you…” Miss Mills spoke and I looked at her in suspicion.

“I know my behavior was rude towards you, accept this as my apology, Miss Hood…” Out of the blue, her tone changes into sensible from sarcastic.

I looked at her dumbfounded, when she added, “Please.”
