Chapter 16 A Low Moment

I was still unaware of the reason for Nancy's glare but it all got cleared once I stepped out of the restroom and found her standing beside the man I met just now.

Ignoring them both, I approached the bar while feeling his gaze roaming at me differently.

I couldn’t help but look his way in annoyance, “Did something happen…uhh…?” I paused because I didn’t recall his name yet.

“Oh, Philip is just surprised…” Nancy protectively held the man’s arm and he shrugged a little.

“Nancy told me, you are her step-sister?” There was inquiry in his words.

And I nodded, his face paled, and I knew this wasn't the only thing she had said to him about me.

“Whatever she has told you, I am not interested in clarifying…” I said dismissively but the next moment, he held my arm.

“You should at least clarify…”

Even with his harsh hold, his eyes looked at me in concern.

“Clarify what?” I asked unhappily.

I knew Nancy was no good for me, she must’ve spread the awful rumors that she always did.
