Rusty battle

Mrs. Dorry ran swiftly into a room and opened a safe hidden in the closet, she hurriedly searched for the keys and tried to open it. In the safe, there were ominous-looking purple grape fruits with swirly patterns. She hesitated for a second, the sound of battle was still coming. Without waiting anymore she took a bite of the rumored devil fruit, it tasted so unpalatable that she almost choked. Enduring the taste she devoured the fruit to its last bits.

Meanwhile in the other room:

Neo and Dorry's lover's fight was coming to an end as the latter was out of stamina and kneeling on the floor. He had deep cuts and bruises all over his body.

N: "That was a good fight, now die and be a better person in your next life."

"Make it painless!" The man pleaded.

Neo didn't hesitate and with a swift stab in the man's heart, he ended the man's life. He took the daggers and then rushed towards Mrs. Dorry who was in another room using his Observation haki.

Mrs. Dorry could feel an unknown power in her body, after becoming a devil fruit user. She also gained a basic understanding of the powers and the name of the fruit. It was called Sabi Sabi Nomi with the power that allows the user to cause any metallic items to rust and come apart.

She was ecstatic, now she was immune to blades and will have a chance to survive. With newfound confidence, she was ready to face the assassin.

Neo entered the room and saw her holding a sharp knife pointed at him.

"We don't have to fight you know. If you need money I can pay the amount." She tried to negotiate.

It was a futile attempt, Neo rushed towards her and tried to end her life with a dagger but what he didn't expect was that as the dagger almost pierced her, it became rust and broke instantly.

Dorry didn't miss the chance and stabbed Neo in his stomach with all her strength aiming to injure him heavily. He had to use his armament haki at the last moment but it was a little late and he was still injured and it started to bleed.

"You also ate a devil fruit??"

"No! I just sunbathe and become stronger. Damn that hurts like hell." Neo didn't expect to be injured, once again he was reminded of the fact that he was not invincible. In this world, there are strange powers that can harm one's soul and even control the flow of time. He should remain cautious from now on.

He remembered this devil fruit power, in the anime a mob marine called Shu used this power to do a number on Zoro and even broke his sword. It was a very underrated devil fruit power with immense potential. The user also turned a person into rust and killed them because the blood also contain iron.

The user is also immune to swords and bullets as they would disintegrate before injuring the user. Imagine if an admiral-level marine had this power.

Neo decided to not drag on the battle any longer.

D: "Y..You are a Mo..Monster." She screamed and tried to move towards the window but before she could flee Neo's heat vision pierced her from the back and left a gaping hole. Her vision began to dim and she died with an unwilling expression on her face.

Neo sat down and tended to his wounds, if not for his dense muscles he would have been heavily injured. He had underestimated the dangers in this world, he reminded himself to never be careless in the future.

His end of the deal was complete and Jenne will owe him one after this.

It was still midnight, he had read that if a devil fruit user dies the fruit will be spawned nearby. He might as well try his luck, so he started to sweep through the nearby areas using his Sharingan and Haki. After a few hours of looking around the house and then in the neighborhood areas, he spotted an odd-looking purple fruit in the grape vines.

"That's the one". Neo was excited to get his hands on a devil fruit and shouted happily.

He plucked the fruit and made his way toward the inn where Jenne was waiting for his return. The sun was rising on the horizon and a new day was about to begin.
