The sniffles she heard while staying beside him made her realize that Silas, the man who she was mated to, the man whose eyes were glimmering amber a moment ago, the man who she had been craving to be with, to be held by him closely and warmly was crying.
“Silas,” she whispered his name as she raised her body up to be above him a little while touching his chest; they were both still naked.
Silas's attention couldn't stay away because he loved how she called his name. There were so many emotions in her voice and then he turned to look into her green eyes.
Silas couldn't help it, he burst into tears. “I could have lost you,” he wrapped her immediately as if she'd disappear from his sight if he didn't.
“What was I thinking? How could I have told you everything? You…what if you had been disgusted,” he sounded so scared.
“No, Tabitha, I don't want to see my life without you,” he bit his lower lip, sobbing. “It's scary…” he shook his head, pressing her tightly into his body.
