You Have No Idea

Adam didn't even have to think about finding a non-awkward way to bring up Callie potentially staying here to take care of him for a while because she asked if there was anything she could do to help when he had been out of the hospital for less than an hour. 

He didn't expect her to say she needed a bonus to help break her lease. She didn't need to move for him! This was only temporary. 

Finding out she needed to move because of something going on with her was concerning. Needing to move on such short notice meant something bad must have happened. 

Adam was genuinely concerned about her situation but she brushed it off and apologized for being unprofessional and bringing her personal problems into it. There was really no need for that. He was the one being unprofessional here because he stubbornly refused to bring on someone new if he could avoid it given his history of staffing problems.
