Ch.71 Closing up the Past

Also, this world can be considered an AU. I tried to add it to the tag but I couldn't find it so I have just mentioned it in the synopsis.

After Chronoa disappeared Shizu traveled the world alone and helped people who were in need of it. After 30 years the story about the hero Chronoa started to fade and the new stories about "The Conqueror of Flames" began to spread.

By this point in time Shizu had travelled most of the world and even made great friends throughout her journey. Her fame kept on increasing and the legends about her kept getting better.

Although due to her suppressing the fire spirit Ifrit her strength had grown stagnant. She knew about it but there was nothing she could do.

Another 20 years passed and Shizu had slowed down as more strong people started to appear. Her role had greatly decreased but her fame didn't decrease in any way.

It was quite troublesome for her as she couldn't go to the city without being surrounded by a large crowd.

As she was travelling through the forest she heard the sound of people crying out in pain. Startled by it she quickly dashed toward the direction of the scream.

Upon arriving there she came upon a scene that would have horrified most people. The dead body of a group of four people was lying on the ground and in the middle of it was a blood-covered young lady.

From her looks she looked like a high schooler, she had short black hair and was wearing a white dress which now had turned red.

There was a knife on her hands with blood dripping out from it, most likely the murder weapon.

She had a cold and calculative eye as she looked at the pile of dead bodies. As Shizu arrived there she noticed her presence and looked at Shizu. 

Thinking of her as a threat she lunged forward with the knife in her hand intending to kill Shizu.

Shizu seeing such an attack coming toward her calmly grabbed the incoming knife. As Shizu grabbed the knife the knife was squeezed and there was no damage to Shizu's hand.

Seeing her attack failing she let go of the knife and tried to give a kick to Shizu. Shizu without any effort grabbed her leg and knocked her to the ground.

"So what's your name?" 

Shizu asked as she removed her and crouched down while giving a smile to the fallen girl. The girl hearing her question and sensing no hostile intention replied.

"Hinata, Hinata Sakaguchi."

"Ah, a beautiful name. You must be confused about being dragged into this new world but don't worry I will help you." Shizu said bluntly. Even though she was sowing the best of intentions for an unknown person it raised a person's guard.

It seems to have done that as Hinata was confused at first but then immediately looked at Shizu with an even guarded face.

Seeing this Shizu realized her blunder and quickly said.

"Sorry if that sounded suspicious. I am not a great talker. As I was saying don't be agitated as I am the same as you."

"Same as me, you mean you are also not from this world?" Hinata asked.

Hearing her question Shizu simply gave a nod which lessened Hinata's guard against her but still she didn't completely let down her guard.

Having this interaction Shizu couldn't help but remember her first meeting with her teacher. Though at that time she was confused but now she is eternally grateful to her who gave her a new opportunity in life.

'Teacher... Hmm, perhaps I should be a teacher.' Shizu thought to herself as she looked at Hinata in front of her.

"Well then Sakaguchi Chan, My name is Shizu. It's nice to meet you." Shizu said with a smile as she stood up.

"Uh... Likewise." Hinata replied.

After that fateful meeting, both Hinata and Shizu traveled together. Hinata learned more about this world and Shizu as she traveled this world with Shizu.

Shizu once proposed to her to be her student which she accepted as she had nothing to lose. Although distant at first she became closer to Shizu and mostly opened up to her after a year of traveling.

During their travel, Shizu found another student Yuuki Kagurazaka an otherworlder just like them. Though Yuuki was four years older than Hinata they mostly got along.

After ten years of traveling, Hinata had learned as much as she could from Shizu and parted ways. Yuuki also moved as he wanted to make an adventurers' guild and remove the current faulty system.

Shizu helped him wholeheartedly and with her being as famous as she is in less than 2 years the adventures system was established and spread throughout the Western nations.

After helping Yuuki Shizu started her travels again but she became less active so her fame started to decrease.

Another five years passed and most of her previous fame had disappeared though she was still famous as Shizu one of the Champions "The Conqueror of Flames".

As she was traveling she got a message from Yuuki telling her about the summoning of children from their world.

He told her about their condition and requested her to tutor them which Shizu promptly

accepted.

Although the kids were scared at first but due to the caring nature of Shizu and her experience with handling kids she made them quickly warm up her her.

She knew of their condition so while teaching she also tried to find a way to cure them. As hard as she tried she wasn't able to find a solution to their problem.

She knew that if she stayed there she wouldn't be able to find a solution so after teaching them for two years she left the academy.

On her journey, she asked her past friends for help but they weren't able to give a definite solution so she continued to travel.

Even after searching for a year, she wasn't able to find a solution and Ifirit was getting harder to suppress.

Even so, with the help of the mask, she was able to keep it at bay and still fight at her full strength.

Today was a normal day for her as always she had taken an A-rank quest to kill some thunder apes that had appeared near the forest of Ingrastia.

She quickly dealt with the monsters but just as she was about to leave she felt a huge presence in the forest.

Thinking that it was a strong monster she quickly sprinted toward that direction. Upon arriving in the place of the initial burst she found a small crater but nothing else.

As she was going to search more she sensed a group of monsters going in a certain direction. Thinking that someone could be in trouble she quickly took out her sword and charged in the direction.

Upon arriving there she saw a young man about 18 perhaps sitting on a stone while the dead body of the wolves lay in front of him.

As a wolf was approaching him even though she knew that he would be able to defend she attacked the wolf and killed it.

After having some small talk both of them started to attack the wolves that were surrounding them.

Even though it was their first time fighting together they were quite coordinated. Shizu felt a sense of familiarity with him or more like his way of fighting.

It reminded her of Chronoa not the skill or style but just the way of fighting increasing her curiosity toward him.

(A/N: Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Now I am mostly finished with her past and have fleshed her out as a character. After all, I can't just let the original story create her character as if I did that it would be a shame to me. After all a fanfic can be called good when the author takes the character and plays around with them and not just blindly following the same plot of the main story. Well, that's what I think anyway.
