Also, this world can be considered an AU. I tried to add it to the tag but I couldn't find it so I have just mentioned it in the synopsis.

The destruction of the Demon lord Leon's castle spread throughout the world increasing the already great fame of Chronoa.
Shizu and Chronoa had been traveling throughout the continent helping people and defeating monsters.
Due to Shizu being seen with Chronoa and her wearing that mask, the news of the hero's successor also spread bringing forth various stories.
Shizu had gotten more open and less emotionless, she had been traveling with Chronoa for years, and after seeing so many people her closed-off heart was opened.
Even so, she still hasn't created a goal for her to live by and is still like a lost lamb on the way to their destination.
.....
It was a normal day for Shizu as always after she started traveling with Chronoa, they had just hunted a monster and were currently resting.
Her outfit had completely changed and she was wearing the same clothing style as Chronoa. During their time of travel, Shizu has come to the conclusion that Chronoa is also an otherworlder like herself.
"Shizu"
As they were having a rest Chronoa looked at Shizu and called her.
"Yes, Sensei," Shizu replied. She had taken Chronoa as a teacher as she has been taught many things by her that will help her survive in this world.
"Did you find anything for you to live for?" Chronoa asked.
After all, this has been the main reason Chronoa had taken Shizu on a journey so that she could find something for herself.
".....No." Shizu simply replied. Even with all the travelling and meeting so many people she still feels alone in this world. Though Chronoa had taught her many things their relation have been of a teacher and a student, and not that of a friend.
Though she has become famous having many people know about her but she still feels like there is a hole in her heart. She feels like the person who is known is the hero student and not Shizu, Shizue Izawa.
Thinking about all of this sadness covered Shizu's face and she became lost in her thoughts.
"You know Shizu you shouldn't give up so soon. After all at some point in time you will find someone or a group of people important to you." Chronoa said as she looked at Shizu's eyes.
"Sensei, Do you have anyone like that?" Shizu asked hearing Chronoa's words.
"Yes, I do," Chronoa replied with a smile on her face, the first one Shizu had seen on her face.
The smile was beautiful and could be described as an artistic masterpiece, not only due to Chronoa's beauty but also because of the feeling released by that smile.
Shizu understood a deep feeling coming from Chronoa but she wasn't able to fully understand it. She had lost her mother at a young age and had killed her only friend in this world with her own hand.
They were the only people that were ever close to her as Leon and his Knights didn't try socializing with her.
Seeing such a smile she lounged for it, she wished to understand it and feel the same feeling Chronoa was feeling.
To be truthful this wasn't the first time Shizue had seen such a smile, the last time was given to her by her mother when she was quite young.
Shizue's family in her previous world couldn't be said to be good. Her father was a drunkard and used to beat her mother and her.
Not being able to handle it anymore and, letting her daughter grow in a peaceful environment she divorced her husband and left the house.
She traveled to the village where her parents used to live and moved into the now-empty house.
Although it was difficult she did everything in her power to raise Shizue well. But it seemed like even the world was against them as the war started and getting food became harder.
Even so, she didn't give up and started working even harder. Shizue seeing her mother work so hard asked a simple question.
"Mother, why do we try so hard to live?"
This a question that wouldn't be asked any kids at her age in the modern period but for the current time period, it was quite appropriate.
The suicide rate was all-time high as people crumbled to the pressure brought by the war. So many of their neighbors had already committed suicide and Shizue had bore witness to it.
Hearing her daughter's question she gave her daughter a warm hug and made her eye level the same as her daughter she spoke.
"Because Life is precious and if we give up then is there any proof that we even existed? My daughter."
As she said that she gave Shizue a beautiful smile that mesmerized Shizue and made her forget about the depressing thought she was having.
That smile was the same smile that Chronoa had just given now. Even if it wasn't intentional Chronoa had managed to create a goal for Shizu to follow.
"Listen here Shizu our time of parting has come. The mask I have given you is very precious and I want you to give it to someone that fills that void in your heart." Chronoa said as she stood up.
"huh??" Shizu made a questioning face upon hearing Chronoa's words.
"I do not understand??" Shizu said.
"Don't worry you will understand in the future," Chronoa said as she started to walk off to the forest.
Shizu just sat there as she looked at the disappearing figure of Chronoa. She could have gone after her but she didn't as she felt like it was a good moment for her to part away.
Chronoa entered the forest and continued to travel without looking back. She traveled a certain distance and entered a deep part of the forest.
"Good luck Shizu sensei, but I will always be his favorite." She whispered.
But as she did so she could for some reason see the smirk of a grey-haired woman which irked her a little.
"Whatever." She grumbled as a teleporting circle materialized beneath her feet.
As she was being teleported she looked at the clock-shaped locket on her hand and gave a warm smile.
For now, all of her jobs and responsibility was finished and most of the pieces were in place, so now she can finally calm down and rest.
'You know that it's not that simple.' The voice of another woman was heard but she simply ignored it.
(A/N: Hope you enjoyed this chapter and some of you may be wondering why I am sowing so much of Shizu's past. Well, the reason is simple, I want to showcase some of the changes that have happened due to the existence of Ryuu. After all, he doesn't only affect the present and future but also the past. Anyway, that's all for now and see you in the next chapter. Goodbye for now.)
