CHAPTER 75 It's not time yet

"Your current fighting style is very inefficient, you act solely on your instincts and reflexes. I didn't teach you to master your senses so that you forget them in the first battle. Although following your instincts is essential in life, following them blindly ignoring everything else turns you into an animal."

'First I have to observe the cave better… the first worm appeared out of nowhere between the wall, its size makes it impossible not to notice it among the moss… it must have come out from somewhere else.'

Then she began to focus more on her surroundings and not just on killing any creature that appears in front of her. She limited herself to using her natural eyes, she decided that she would not use the celestial eyes unless the situation was critical or needed information.

After all, she understood that it was only a loan and at the same time she didn't want things to be too easy.

Saeko took off her shoes and began to constantly hit the ground with her sheathed katana.

She took off her shoes to better feel the ground, thanks to the echo and vibrations she was able to recognize all the terrain that her eyes could not and her sense of smell combined with taste to better find the smelly red centipedes.

The most sensible thing would be to kill the worms outside the cracks and continue advancing, but… Why should I run away from simple centipedes? The mission gives you rewards depending on the number of monsters you kill, withdrawing is not an option… in fact, I should use the cracks to my advantage.'

Without further ado, she stopped hitting the ground and she began to elaborate her new plan.

Now with a complete map of the cave and its creatures, she discovered that there are many more threats than the simple Centipedes, such as the huge anthill with thousands of ants between thirty cm and one meter. The cave was full of all kinds of giant insects and other animals.

She continued walking through the cave taking the simplest paths to her destination, quickly killing the monsters that crossed her path without paying too much attention, if too many gathered on the way she simply changed route.

If her plan went as she expected, it made no sense to kill a small dozen monsters and take more time.

After that, after passing a path of narrow corridors in the form of a labyrinth, she arrived at her planned destination. A normal person would not pay attention to these narrow corridors and even if they did, they would run a huge risk of getting lost or taking a bad corridor and getting stuck.

Of course, that was not the case for Saeko who has a complete map of the entire cave.

I came back, I don't know if they missed me. I don't think so. I thought that on my vacation I could make more progress on my novel, but I found a job and it was more difficult than I thought.
