Terror of the Future (II)

Zach takes out his blades and rushes towards the hundred goblins that were falling into place when one dies.

"I need someone else up here with me, or it's going to be an extremely tight chance of success with the front line."

Zach said while taking care of some goblins, and slowly getting tired from dealing with it already.

"I got you, don't worry."

Someone from the crowd rushes forward and activates her skill.

"Ice blade storm."

Three words were said. Her ice sword went flying towards the goblin herd, taking out another sword rushing towards the goblins.

"Let's go, I'm not sure what your name is young miss, but thanks for the help, let's get rid of them as swiftly as possible."

"Yeah, I agree. Names can be exchanged at a later date."

Both of them push forwards through the herd, lowering the numbers while others are using their long-range skills, bow and arrow skills, and any other types of skills. Healers heal the injured quickly.

"Hundred arrows of light"

He decapitated 15 more of the goblins while they were still rushing in.

Zach gets hit by a club from one of the goblins and get sent to the ground about to be crushed in, from the club the girl saves him by slicing her sword cleanly through the neck of the goblin.

"Come on, you're the one who asked for help, and you're falling already?"

She said, while laughing a bit, handing out her hand to him.

He signs in response and takes her hand.

"Thanks for the save, but we need to get back to work, there still seems to be some left somehow."

Zach gets up, picks up his weapon, which had dropped to the ground a few moments earlier. They both get in position and continue their push through the herd.

[First Stage – Terror of the Future: has been cleared from the North. Currently waiting for the West position to be cleared. Wave 01/05]

The message from the system popped up for all eyes to see in front of each individual. Everyone was surprised to see that one of the sides of the herds invading their world had already been cleared within two hours.

"Alright, you all saw the message. Let's get to it even faster, so we can hurry and clear this shit. There's only about 20 left anyway."

Zach took up his swords and dashed in with the girl while the others were dealing with some of them that gets passed them. Within 15 minutes, the first wave was successfully cleared on both invading sides.

"Ah jeez t-that was exhausting, but good job everyone."

Zach said while he fell to the floor, dropping his weapons in tiredness from fighting. The battlefield carried the blood of the goblins, and of the wounded, who continued to fight even when injured. It was like a bloodbath filled battlefield. This is just the beginning of it all.

Cain, on the other hand.

"It was a good plan you had back then, Jay. Thanks for the support buffs, it was really helpful not just for me but for everyone on the battlefield. I still can't believe we won that without losing anyone."

Said Cain while breathing heavily from the tiredness of the battle without rest or healing.

"Y-yeah, you could say that again, man. Jay was awesome with those buffs, what were those buffs, man? What's your class?"

Someone in the crowd said while resting on the floor, looking up towards the golden colored sky hiding within the clouds.

Jay took a moment to catch his breath and responded

"My class is 'Priest'. It gave me a few skills when I selected it. The first one, the one I used on you all, was "Goddess of Protection – Shield" it's a pretty weird name, but I mean it boosts one health by 20, and the agility by 25. Sadly, it only buffs the strength stat by 1."

Everyone who was under the skill looks up and all response with the same thing.

"That's a wonderful skill, man"

"Yeah, that is quite wonderful man. I didn't even realize that was even a possibility even though the classes, and the 'skills' we have don't use magic. I wonder what the skills that do use magic are like."

Cain said while almost fully catching his breath.

"Yeah, I mean, my skill is only a 48-hour cooldown, and it's amazing for buffs. I can't imagine the buff skills that use magic considering it's magic and all".

Jay said in response.

Everyone started to laugh a bit since Jay made it a more relaxed time saying that as if it's a game.

"Honestly, though, if that's just how hard the first wave is… I am a bit curious about how the difficulty will increase as the waves increase."

Someone spoke up from the crowd in Zach's group.

Zach looked up at her and responded.

"I'm not entirely sure, but one thing's for certain. It most definitely won't be easier than this in any way imaginable."

Zach said while being tired and thinking of how dreadful the future waves will be and of how much damage they will cause.

"As much as I hate to admit it, but, I think we got lucky just because there was another group willing to help that were already there to stop it. Next time around that may not be the case. It could actually be even worse than that. They could come from every direction… And then what would we do about that?"

Someone spoke up, thinking it was best to tell everyone of the current situation if anybody wanted to betray one another from the group.

"He does make a solid point. It's a lot to take in at once though because of that. For the time being, let's just get some rest and think of the rest later when it happens."

Hoping to calm down the situation, Zach responded while knowing what he said was the cold truth at the end.

.

"Can we just go already? I don't want to watch this pity party anymore jeez. It's embarrassing."

Someone spoke up from within the crowd.

"...I guess you're right in that sense. Alright then, let's move on and just keeep going. I'm going to get going then right away."

Zach spoke up and walks away while thinking of everything they all said, and how much difference there is between people even in a crisis where it depends on everyone to work together in order to survive.

[First Stage — Terror of the Future

Waves cleared 01/05.

Congratulations to every Player who had survived the first wave. Please do continue to support one another through the entire First Stage.]

"I guess I should get going, Zach may be waiting for me already at the training ground."

Cain picks up his belongings, and walks away towards the house where Zach is staying while being curious on when the next wave will begin of this hell invaded world.

After a while of walking Cain finally makes it to the training ground, and drops down to the ground from tiredness

"Ugh, my entire body is sore. I just need to lay here for a bit of time and rest."

Cain then closed his eyes slowly, falling asleep on the training ground.

Somewhere else there was a meeting going on which was supposed to happen earlier, due to the first wave attack that couldn't happen.

"So, what exactly are we going to do now? The first wave has been cleared already and that was when we were going to strike and kill as many people as possible to steal their belongings…but now what should we do boss?"

After hearing that, someone took a few minutes and then turned a chair around towards a wall, getting up from the large circle table and proceeds to say

"Well, considering we missed this opportunity, we'll just have to strike on wave 2. When will that be? The system hasn't said a thing about it yet. Worry not though as we will succeed in wave 2, but if for some reason we fail… well we won't be talking to each other ever again."

He walks away from the table grabbing his jacket.

Everyone there is looking at each other and they all agree to the 'boss's' word to succeed, and they all get up and go their own ways until the next meeting.

Three hours later, Zach arrives at the training ground and sees that Cain is asleep on the ground with his weapon near him dropped on the ground.

He sighed, picked up Cain's weapon and put it up on a wall.

"He really needs to watch out for his sword better otherwise it could be the death of him…well whatever."

Zach began to walk away from the training grounds, looking up towards the beautiful sky with small clouds slowly moving by in the sky. Light shines through the openings, lighting the path as he walks.

"This is the most beautiful sky I have ever seen."

Zach thought as he enters his house, he sits down beside a window with curtains open as he starts to look through his stats, skills, and the system.

A few hours has passed by since Zach left the training grounds, Cain woke up to see his sword on the wall in a safe manner.

"Hm, I guess Zach made it back. He also put my sword up for me, I guess I should thank him on another day."

He said as he got up, walked over to his sword, and looked up at the sky still shining brightly through the openings of the clouds.

"I should check my stats before anything else."

[Stats for player 'Cain Ravens'

Agility: 027

Strength: 033

Magic: 003

Intelligence: 033

Skills: Commander's Voice [A+] Sword's Will [B-]

Available stat points: 005]

"Huh? A new skill? How though, I thought I could only get skills from the class "Commander" though? Maybe it is one..?"

Cain clicked on the newly discovered skill 'Sword's Will'

[Sword's Will — (Passive)

Allows the Player to use the sword more precisely, and allows for more control over any weapon that is classed as 'Sword'.]

"This actually seems useful, I think I'll like this skill more as we go. Especially since it's a passive skill."

Cain says while his eyes are looking around in case of spying, assassination, or any reason at all.

"I'll worry about my stats later. For the time being, I need to get out of here. I've already been here to long."

Cain gripped his sheath tightly with his blade within it, putting the sheath around his waist and walking away from the place where he spent most of his time at since the Tower appearance.

[First Stage — Terror of the Future

Wave 02/05 will start within the next 77 hours.

Make sure to be prepared.]

Everyone got notified for the second wave, some were happy that it was starting so soon, some were sweating from hearing it from the pure amount of nervousness they felt from seeing the message.

Cain begins to think to himself as he read the message.

"Finally, it's about time it's going to start. It does seem really early, though, but I won't complain. I can't really believe it'll be harder this time, but It should reward us even more stat points than the previous wave 01 did."

Cain was happy to read the news about the sudden wave 02 happening.

While Cain, Zach, and everyone else were reading it.

"So, how long do you think they'll last? The previous world #Bv237ZY1 only lasted until the Ninth Stage. I'm curious about how world #001CLU will be able to last, or should we call it 'Earth' as humans call it."

"Hm, there are a few worth looking over, but I don't think it's necessary to offer contracts, or our help yet. After a few more stages then, maybe we can offer a contract or help to the humans of #001CLU."

These beings that simply called a planet, a world, by simple numbers. They're called the 'Guardians'. They offer contracts, help, and their knowledge to the humans they're watching over. In return? They just want entertainment, as they are not permitted by their laws to interfere with the worlds unless its players that have accepted the contract of one.

Cain unsheathes his sword and begins training using both of his skills at once. Looking around the area full of grass, open lands, and the beautiful view of the sky. The sun glaring back down at earth, causing the land to shine with the light radiating from the sun.

"So then, shall we get started this month, boys?"

Everyone begins to say "Yes, Sir!"

At the time when everything has gone to hell, the world has ended, there shall forever exist a group which still wants to destroy all in the path of their ideas.

"Then, let's go ahead and get going. We have an extremely long and dangerous journey ahead of ourselves if we wish to make it to America by next week."

They loaded the cars which still had gasoline within them, and started to drive off towards North America.
