The Phone call (I)

The autumn evening feels cool and soft like the clothes wrapping around the body.

The smells of coffee… breeze after the rain…

Everything soothes her heart which was filled with turmoil.

Yu Xin stood there watching the faraway hills. They looked beautiful and calm. The indigo color really complements the setting sun behind it.

It was going to be ordinary day till that phone call in the morning made her feelings complicated.

The phone was ringing for quite a long time. Normally there was no one to call her expect her acquaintance from her work.

She thought it was from Professor Lu because he had been tailing her behind to help him with his extra course for 4th year student since he had not completed and the deadline for completion of project was approaching.

She had already rejected him but still he really had too much of patience to still coy with her stubbornness.

Due to the ringing of her phone for long time for a second she had considered to help him. But her laziness seeped into her mind to remind "NO!!! Means no." she shouldn't waver her feelings. Only once a week she gets her day off. She should enjoy this day by rewarding herself for working like a dog for whole week.

Actually if it was other professor she would have considered of helping but it was this Professor Lu. They are in same department but hell with his personality. He was super lazy and irresponsible middle aged man. He was really pain in the ass. Since the project submission date was nearing he was flying around seeking the help of the teachers who had already completed their lessons in this semester.

Actually her first meeting with Professor Lu was pleasant. He was all smiling and saying this and that. When he knew they were from the same hometown he gave that giant grin saying they are family. Since they share same air and same water in their childhood they should call each other brother and sister.

Then they really became brother and sister.

If she had known his nature in the beginning she would have never considered even looking towards the same direction as him.

The phone rang for hours …

Finally she had decided to answer the phone. First she would decline him politely then if he still insisted on pressing her she would just plug out that telephone line.

She answered the phone," Hello!"

The other side of the phone went silent.

Her patience was really thinning so she singly spoke, "Professor Lu, I am really sorry. I can't help you. I have lot of things to do and-"

"Are you Yu Xin?" a girl voice interrupted her.

It was nasal voice stammering filled with anxious and expection.

She finally looked at the numbers. It was unknown numbers. She tried to remember the persons who had her number but no one came to her mind.

She replied unhurriedly," Yes, How can I help you?"

As she stopped finishing her sentence a long rant of cusswords rang in her ear.

It was really awful. Damn she really was swearing with no stopper in her mouth.

Already her mind was filled with lot of works that had added lot stress in her head adding with this vulgar woman who adding fuel in her terrible mood.
