74. A Dangerous Deja Vu

"Ms Sarah? Someone is here to see you."

I frown back at the blonde intern, thinking she must have said the wrong thing, "Do you mean someone is calling my phone?"

"No. You have a visitor. Someone is here to see you," she repeats firmly.

My mind goes to George. Maybe he is here to confront me about the cocaine incident with Sammy. Bracing up, I excuse myself from the dressing room to go meet him outside the set.

"Mark? It's you."

My mind relaxes a bit on knowing that I won't be offering an explanation as to why a four year old boy would be playing with a dangerous substance. Even if he is my son, reporting the issue to social workers would have his access to me limited, and I don't want that.

Mark pecks me on both sides of my cheeks before raising the box of pizza he is carrying.

"I brought food."

My eyes narrow at him, "You mean a peace offering?" I retort.

"Are we fighting?"
