Genevieve's POV
"You know, you're beginning to concern me with your stares, Genevieve. Are you alright? Is something wrong?" he asked, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.
"No... everything's fine. I'm okay, I'm sorry for staring too long and making you uncomfortable."
He scoffs. "It would take more than a stare to make me uncomfortable," he replied while unbuttoning his shirt.
I know, right.
Looks, they say, can be very deceptive.
I always thought that I could tell a good or bad person right from the moment I set my eyes on them. I thought I had a very strong sense of discernment. But lately... I'll have to take a bow because it has failed me twice now.
First was with Cole. I thought he was a good and responsible gentleman. I thought he was everything I wanted. Hell, I thought he was the best man on the planet.
