Chapter Three

Dave opened his eyes for the first time since leaving that mysterious white room; he opened them to pitch darkness.

He tried getting up, only to realize something was obstructing his entire body.

He felt the object with his hands and concluded that it was his mattress.

He lifted himself off the ground, pushing against the mattress as he went. There was a lot of noise as he did so as if the bed had a lot of junk on top of it as well.

Dave could see the sky above him when he managed to get himself out of the wreckage.

It appeared that the roof and ceiling fell on top of him while he was asleep.

Wait a minute, wasn't there supposed to be some kind of host that was supposed to show up and form some stupid contract with me.

He glanced at his arms and observed that they were far too slender to be his own, and they had less hair than his own.

They didn't have any hair from what he could see.

The arms were so caked in dirt and grime that it was hard to tell what color the skin was. Hold on, don't tell me my random selection was.

He glanced down at his chest; sure enough, there were two very noticeable breasts sticking out, covered in dirt and grime.

His hands, or maybe it would be more accurate to say, her hands, automatically went to exploring his new body in full.

It was at that moment when her hands touched the area between the legs where her family jewels used to be.

She fell to her knees, the shock of all that was happening too much for her to handle.

She couldn't wrap her head around the odds of getting this body, there were hundreds of choices left on the list, and she got this one. The odds would have had to be so low it was ridiculous.

There was something else that was bothering her. The skin felt too real, the sweat leaking down her chest, leaving white skin in its wake, didn't make any sense either.

If she possessed Sarah's body, wouldn't she be unable to sweat, to feel things around her, to speak.

She tilted her head to the side. Could she talk?

"Hello," the voice that left her throat sounded dry and raspy, but it was a woman's voice.

She coughed a few times as she realized just how dry her throat was.

Well, at least I won't be mute, that's something I guess.

But why is my hair so long? The Maid Bot he owned had her hair cut short, barely reaching her shoulders?

Now her hair was touching the ground as she sat on her knees, and it was a different color as before.

Sarah's hair was dark red, but now it looked like it was natural red hair instead, and it almost looked like it was glowing, even in the bright sunlit day.

I guess I'll just go by the name Sarah from now on. It would be weird if I kept calling myself Dave at this point.

Sarah got back to her feet, stretching.

She decided moping around wouldn't solve anything for her.

She glanced around, trying to take in as much information as she could.

The roof and ceiling were gone entirely, except for the parts that were on the ground.

There was only one outside wall still standing, and it had a huge circular hole in the center of it.

She noticed a Boulder on the opposite side of the wall in the yard that was dug into the dirt by several feet.

Her conclusion was, someone sent a massive boulder the size of a Sedan straight through her once pristine home.

The once green land around her yard looked dead and barren, and her truck was missing, stolen from the looks of it.

The sun was directly above, so that would make it midday.

Oh, and she was completely naked, in the middle of a wrecked house, without any access to clothes, a few miles away from any neighbors she had.

Sarah's whole body stiffened as she heard a growling noise. She glanced in all directions, waving her head back and forth.

She relaxed when she didn't see anything; it must have been my imagination.

She heard the growling noise again, this time, however, her hand clutched her stomach, as she came to a realization, it was her stomach growling.

So I'm hungry, thirsty, and completely naked, in the middle of nowhere, oh well, at least it can't get any worse than this.

Sarah walked out of the house, putting her bare feet on the dry, dusty ground outside. There was no sign of grass for as far as the eye could see, no weeds, no cactus, just dry, dusty earth.

There were still trees around, but they looked like a stiff breeze could blow them down, as they were completely bare and lifeless.

She looked towards the hill in the distance, if she remembered correctly, there should be a house on top of the hill that two women lived in; they also had no kids, which was perfect for her, if she wanted to knock on someone's door naked.

She could see the house in the distance just barely.

She squinted her eyes towards the house, trying to see more details, and just like she was looking through a telescope, her eyes locked onto the house, viewing it like she was a stone toss away from it.

The house looked abandoned, she noticed. The windows were covered in dust, and the roof had a massive hole in it that sunk into the attic.

She sighed; I should just go check it out anyway; maybe I'll get lucky and find some clothes in there and perhaps some water and food as well.

Her stomach growled at the thought of food, which decided it then, she was going to make her way to the house.

Sarah was trudging along inside a dead woodland area. She could have taken the road to the house, but she was worried that people might be driving down the road, and she was no exhibitionist, even if this wasn't her original body.

Even though Sarah had been tracking through rough terrain for a couple of miles now, she didn't feel exhaustion like she thought she would have by now.

In her previous life, she would have taken several breaks by now.

She had to admit that this body was in far better shape than she had ever been in her entire life.

The atmosphere in the woods was strange, and she couldn't hear any sounds besides her heavy footsteps.

There were no birds or bugs from what she observed.

It was kind of creepy. Sarah had never been much of a fan of nature, but it was oddly depressing without the background noise.

Not even the trees seemed to dare make a noise. Out of curiosity, Sarah walked up to one of the more giant trees she came across so far. The tree was wide enough that if she were to wrap her arms around it, she probably couldn't touch her fingers together.

Not that she would test that theory; hugging a tree naked did not sound very comfortable.

She stared up the length of the tree; if she were going to guess its height, then it would probably be close to 3 stories tall.

She placed her palm against it curiously, and the tree bark was rough and stable; it didn't feel as though the tree were dead, not that she would know either way.

She knew almost nothing about trees and how they survived. Sarah decided to give the tree a little shove to test its durability. Her palm and fingers sunk into the tree like it was made out of foam.

There was a loud cracking noise as the tree was broken in half, toppling towards the ground. It smashed into the other trees in its collision path, taking out several of their limbs before slamming against the ground with a resounding boom.

Sarah stood there for several seconds with her palm out, and several thoughts flitted through her head all at once.

Sarah concluded that the tree was probably just that dead and was more than likely about to fall over on its own.

She felt the tree where it split in two and was shocked to find that the tree's inside was damp; not at all dry like she thought it should have been.

There's no way, right? There's no freaking way this could be real, but she had to know.

She walked over to another tree; this time, instead of trying to knock it over, she balled her fist to punch it.

She took in a couple of breaths and let it out, attempting to psych herself out.

Ok, this is going to hurt a lot. She stepped forward on her left foot, putting all her weight into the punch.

Her fist shot out faster than she thought was possible, her eyes barely keeping up with the arm as it blurred forward.

Her fist blew apart the trunk of the tree, there was a 3-foot hole separating the trees two half's, but that wasn't all that happened, all the trees behind the tree she hit for several feet, were sent crashing backward as they broke in half from the impact of her punch.

A massive dust cloud formed, sending dust in the direction she punched.

The noise the trees made while they broke in two, were so loud that Sarah was almost sure someone could hear it from miles away, not to mention the booming noise her fist made when it made contact with the tree. Sarah felt her heart quicken in excitement, she went to several more trees and punched them, to her delight they all broke apart, crashing to the ground.

She had to stop after about 20 trees cause her stomach grumbled. The pain this time was so intense that she almost fell to her knees from the pain.

She caught herself on the tree she was about to hit instead.

"So hungry," she groaned, her words coming out raspy from the parched throat.

I should be close to the house by now, and it should just be on the other side of this clearing here.

Then all I got to do is trek up the hill. She sighed; if she had been able to take the road, she would have been there already.

Sarah made it to the steps of the building. Her breathing was ragged and sweat-drenched her whole body, making her dirt-caked skin even grimier than before.

I could use a hot bath right about now, and maybe ill find some water in the house.

She wiped the dust off of a portion of the window and peered inside.

The house looked abandoned; there were objects strewn about as if someone was in a hurry to pack.

She tried the door, but of course, it was locked. She placed her palm against the door and shoved.

The door made a loud crunching noise as the door broke off its hinges and flew into the house, creating a very audible crashing noise as it hit the wall on the opposite side of the room.

"Oops," I need to get a handle over my strength. Otherwise, if I ever meet some people, I could do them harm.

She walked through the door, her eyes adjusting almost instantly to the dark inside. The air inside the house smelled musty like no one had lived in this house for months.
