Chapter 12

Mariam would have taken a day off for today mainly because of the cold and catarrh she's having but she knows how strict Ahmad is especially when it has to do with her neglecting her duties as a receptionist so she just carried herself with heavy heart and left her hotel room .

         Ahmad also stepped out of his room at the same time and they instantly looked at each other .

         He didn't spend a second longer in looking at her so he quickly continued to park his long hair with a black ribbon like he always does .

          Mariam sneezed and quickly left the place not wanting to get another white handkerchief.

     She has to reach Star Multimedia Company before the CEO himself , that'll show him how serious of a receptionist she is .

       Mariam stopped a cab as usual and it took her straight to Star Multimedia company . Mariam got out and paid the cab driver .

   She headed inside the company and she got so relieved to know that she was the first to arrive .

     Mariam got inside and sat down on her office seat . She has been sneezing and coughing .

Mariam has a file she needs to take to Ahmad but because of her condition she decided to send Joseph , who's a cleaner that cleans in the company,  to take it to him .

   'Please take it to him and tell him to sign it then bring it back to me . Thank you ' Mariam said finishing her sentence with another sneeze.Joseph did as she said.

        Just some minutes later , she saw him coming back with the files and she smiled offering him another 'thank you ' .

     ' Actually, He no sign it Ma . ' Joseph said trying to speak and English she can understand.

      'Why not ? ' Mariam asked confusingly.

    'He talk say you must take am by yourself ' Joesph replied

     'Why ? ' Mariam asked still confused

' He talk say it's your job Ma ' Joseph answered

   Mariam sighed and dismissed him with a 'thanks '.

    She stayed with her hand on her forehead for thirteen minutes before she got up and carried the files on her hand to give him.

    She used the elevator that'll lead directly to his office's door , an elevator that only he uses .

      Mariam reached his office door but she didn't knock right ahead , she first took in a deep breath and exhaled it before  opening the door . She walked and dropped it on his desk .

      Mariam saw the same girl that was with him yesterday plaiting his hair again just like she was doing yesterday.

    'Good morning Sir ' Mariam greeted and sneezed just after .

    'Why did you send a cleaner to my office ? ' Ahmad asked and looked at her at the same time .

     Maryam sneezed again and replied 'I thought the reason is obvious sir ' Mariam said and the girl plaiting Ahmad's hair chuckled lightly.

       'No it's not ' Ahmad replied wanting her to tell him by herself .

     'Sir I'm sick but as a responsible receptionist I still came to work ' Mariam said dramatically pointing at herself .

        'Responsible...I see ..' Ahmad said

    'Where do I have to sign ' Ahmad asked even though he knows where to sign .

      Mariam sighed and walked towards him  to show him where to sign . She stood beside him while he was sitting comfortably on his comfy chair .

    Mariam made sure she kept her distance as she point 'here ...here and .....' Mariam said but didn't get to finish her statement and then she put her palm on her forehead .

    Mariam could hear the words Ahmad was saying but not very well .

   'Is everything fine ? '

   ' Crap! '

        Mariam fainted on the CEO himself , the CEO that nobody dares to come close to but coincidentally , it happened .
