Chapter 7

They threatened, tortured and used many other ways to make Adeline spill the beans. But Adeline did not utter anything. Ajax was feeling helpless and pain, anger was visible in his eyes. Zane was also very angry but he couldn't do anything.

After some time the 5 people went towards the forest. "That's my chance to save mom, I have to do it at any cost" Ajax said with confidence and hope. He ran quickly towards his mom and untied her.

Ajax: Mom, are you okay? , what happened? what do they want? why are they behind you? what happened to everyone? where is dad??

Adeline had tears in her eyes yet smiled beautifully and said: My dear, relax don't worry, are you okay? Did those people saw you?  You should go far away from her? And don't worry Mumma and papa will always be there with you, okay?

Ajax started trembling, his lips were dried up he asked painfully: WHY? Why are you saying this? Just tell me what is going on? Please, please tell me what happened? Otherwise, I will go behind those 5 men and ask what you did to my village and you know that I will do that.

Adeline's face went pale after listening to ajax: NO, never go near them if they are nearby always run far away from them, you have to obey me, promise me that if you see any of them in future you will run away, promise me.

Ajax: No, if you will not tell then I will ask them, please tell me everything that happened and why they are after you

Adeline: Okay I will but after I tell promise that you will do as I say okay?

Ajax: Okay I will promise.

Adeline: You are very special as well as cursed Ajax.

Ajax eyes widened and he was shocked as to what his mother was saying.

Adeline: Yes my boy, actually we never told you but normally when a kid gets tiger as his beast it has yellow eyes and is brown coloured. But you have Zane and he is a white tiger with blue eyes so you have 30%extra power than normal kids. That's why you were always above average when learning, practising and every other thing. That's why you are very special.

Ajax was listening with utmost attention and Zane was keeping watch to see if anyone was coming.

Adeline: But your speciality will attract evil eyes. Do you remember the story that your father told about greedy king Luke?

Ajax nodded. Adeline chanted a mantra and a book appeared.

It looked mystical and was hefty.

Adeline: This book tells that the 5 mystic stones can only be brought by the chosen one. The chosen one will be powerful, brave, will have a pure soul and will be kind-hearted. And will have fire as his element and have a blue aura. And you my child, have all that is mentioned. You are the CHOSEN one. You are destined to find those 5 stones and no one else on this Continent can do.

Ajax was stunned after listening to this. That means the 5 people came for him. He was the reason that those people caused havoc to his village, he was the reason that his father is nowhere to be seen and his mom is in this condition. He knelt and was feeling empty and devastated.

Ajax's voice trembled and asked: Mom, where is dad? Why he is not with you?

Adeline's face turned white and tears gushed in after listening to ajax's question. But she wiped her tears, gathered courage and said: He has gone far away my dear, and soon I have to go otherwise he will be angry on me, she said painfully yet with a smile on her face.

Ajax was shocked and tears started falling continuously.

Ajax: NO, no, no!! You two promised me that you two will always be with me. How can you do this? Why this all happened?

Adeline: Calm down ajax, calm down. In life, not everything goes as we want. Destiny has something different for everyone. As for me, I had a loving, caring husband and a brave, understanding child. I am contented with what life gave to me. And now you have to wisely go ahead in your life and never regret anything and don't do anything that will make you feel guilty. Always be on the right path, learn to distinguish between good and evil. Take care of yourself and you can't let anyone take advantage of you , promise me.

Ajax started crying pitifully: Why, why are you telling these things, I will protect you and we will leave and go far away from here and live peacefully okay? Don't worry at all.

Adeline smiled with tears and said: Yes we both will leave and go far away from here.

Suddenly Zane started growling. Those 5 people were approaching  Adeline and Ajax but they were far away so did not pay attention to Ajax and Zane growled only to alert Ajax and his mom . Adeline's leg was hurt badly, but she managed to stand between those men and her son.

Adeline: Zane takes ajax and runs as far as possible from here. I will try to stop them and buy you time as far as possible. Go quick.

Zane was reluctant to leave and so was ajax.

Ajax: No, never I won't leave you, I will fight with all my strength with you.

Adeline: No you are no match for them, just go.

The 5 men were now nearing them. Adeline knew that it will be no good if they catch ajax. She turned towards ajax, handed him the book and told: Directly run away without questioning me, if they catch you, then you will become the reason for the destruction of the entire continent. Your father's sacrifice will go in vain and I won't be able to protect you now. So just leave.

Ajax: No, now whatever happens I will not go away, I lost my father, I don't want to lose you, please.

Adeline knew that ajax won't listen to her. She ordered zane to take ajax and hide him as much as he can.

Once given the order by Adeline, zane can't refuse and had to follow whatever she asked. Zane's eyes filled with tears, pain and misery. Ajax was angered by his mother's action. He told zane not to follow her order and prepare to use their ability of power lunch on those men.

Adeline knew that they were short in terms of time and strength. She pressed ajax's acupoint and he whispered"MUMMA", and passed out.

She caressed his face and kissed his forehead and then looked at zane kissed his forehead too and signalled to take ajax away. Zane had tears in his eyes but he assured with actions that he will take care of ajax.

Zane quickly leapt and ran as fast as possible. Adeline saw her son being taken far from her sight. She felt a piercing pain in her heart. But then she gathered courage and started attacking those men. Nevertheless, she was very weak to fight at that moment. She fought bravely but in the end, an arrow pierced her heart. While taking her last breath she whispered"Take care of yourself my boy, I and your dad will always be by your side as promised. I am coming to you my dear husband and she died with a smile on her face and tears coming out from the corner of her closed eyes.

Here zane was running and he was fearing that those men might be chasing him. He saw a hole in a tree that was big enough to hide him and ajax. He entered that hole and waited patiently yet attentively.

Those men searched everywhere to find that boy but failed. One of them told the other," Tell the boss that they destroyed the village and killed Andrews and Adeline but failed to capture their son."

At night Ajax woke up.

Ajax: MUMMA! Zane where is mom, you did not follow her order, right? You did not leave her alone there to fight, right?

Zane nodded in discord and indicated that he couldn't save her.

Ajax was utterly devastated. He could not believe that his life turned over within a few hours. Now he has nothing left. No one to take care of him. No one to scold him. No one all was destroyed in front of his eyes but he was not able to save anyone neither his village nor his parents.

All his devastation converted into outrage. He looked towards zane and took all his frustration, pain on him.

Ajax: You, you are the reason for my mother's death, you did not save her, you could have saved her but you are a coward. We both could have saved her but you refused to help me.WHY??

Zane tried to relax as he knew that he was in pain but he could not stop him.

Ajax: Now I have nothing, and that is all because of you. So from now on, you will not be my partner, zane. Disappear and never show me your face.

Zane was stunned and was shocked. Ajax needed him. but he is telling him to go. He was his partner, brother. He never left his side. He slept with him, ate with him and now he is telling me to go and never show in front of him.

"NOW!" Ajax said loudly and with tears in his eyes.

Zane had to follow his order and with pain in his eyes yet growled to tell that 'okay then take care of yourself' and disappeared.
