Nightwalker ~when the devil sings

He loathed her. So much so that he was numb from the hatred. He wouldn't kill her~maybe not yet. She glared at him from where she sat on the bed. "Glare all you want since that's what you would be doing from this moment on". "What do you want?" "I will be the musician and you'd be the dancer. Whatever song I sing, you must dance to it. I don't need your will, you just have to obey me". He was the devil himself and this time, she has to be a dancer for him.

Hundred and thirteen. Feeling guilty

Hundred and thirteen. Feeling guilty

Elena and Alvin returned to Elijah's villa. They were brought back home by one of the drivers. The duo looked very poor and wretched and the stench coming from them was unwelcoming. Elena alighted from the car and walked straight into the building, not looking at anyone. She was about to take the stairs when the deep and commanding voice of her boss halted her in her steps.

"Elena" he called her. "Come here" he ordered.

Elena clenched her fists. "I need to wash up. You don't want to talk to me in this state" she said, her tone lifeless.

Elijah stood from his seat, his heart plummeting into a sea of annoyance at how Elena was behaving in front of him. "But I called you. Do you think I care if you stink or not?" he bawled.

Elena let go off the railings and turned around face him. She bowed apologetically. "I'm sorry boss. I was just thinking for your health. I don't want you to have a bad stomach for inhaling this stench of mine" she said.

Alvin also walked in. He came forward and bowed to Ezekiel. Ezekiel dismissed him and let him go but Elena remained there under his command.

"Elena, are you giving me an attitude? What's with the formality?" Elijah questioned, trying to hold himself.

"I'm not giving you an attitude boss. I'm just behaving myself. I'm being a good subordinate" Elena said. She turned around to continue going upstairs but Elijah held her back.

"What's wrong with you, Elena? Why are you acting this way?"

"I'm just tired. I need to rest. So that I would be able to function tomorrow" she stated.

This was the line that finally calmed Elijah down. "I understand. You should have said so from the start. Go and rest. We'll go out in the evening, there's something to celebrate" Elijah said.

"Okay. I will let Alvin know about it" she said.

Elijah frowned. "What Alvin? There's no Alvin. There's just you and I" Elijah stated.

"Oh...okay then. Then I will just get ready" she said and walked upstairs.

Elijah frowned hard at her stiff behavior towards him. He wondered what the problem was. Did 'Ezekiel say something to her against him?' he asked himself. However, after a little thought, he realized that there was nothing that Ezekiel could say to her against him.

Ezekiel walked into the room where Little Noel was staying. He didn't bother knocking. The little boy was seated next to the window, looking out of it. He didn't even realize that someone had walked in. Ezekiel closed the door and settled himself into the cushion that was there.

"What are you looking at?" Ezekiel asked.

That was when Little Noel realized that he wasn't alone. He immediately clenched his tiny fists as he got cold feet at the appearance of Ezekiel. He didn't even know what to say to him. He could only look at Ezekiel.

"Why did you do it?" Ezekiel asked. His face was cold and unfriendly, one that scared the hell out of the little boy. "Did your uncle tell you to do it?"

Little Noel felt the salty liquid sting the corners of his eyes. It was threatening to fall out of his eyes. He clenched his clothes tightly and looked down from the rage filled gaze that was on him. This man wasn't gentle at all.

"I'm sorry" Noel apologized. "I didn't mean to hurt pretty sister. I'd never do anything to hurt her" he said.

"But you did hurt her. And i bet, you're not the one who did it yourself. You uncle sent you didn't he?" Ezekiel asked.

"Yes, he did. I only wanted to help him. He looked very sad and I wanted to help him. He just told me to bring pretty sister to the mall. That was all I had to do" Noel explained.

Ezekiel clenched his fists so hard that his veins popped. He swallowed hard to calm his raging emotions that was swirling like a storm. The last thread of rationality in him kept on reminding him that the person in front of him was a little boy. He only did something to make his uncle happy.

"How is pretty sister? Can I see her?" Noel asked.

Ezekiel looked at him. He heaved a deep sigh, raking his fingers through his hair.

"Come here" he said to him.

Little Noel hesitated. He was really scared of Ezekiel. "Huh?"

"I said come here. Don't you want to see her?" Ezekiel raised his voice a little.

Little Noel finally took heavy steps towards him. He stood in front of Ezekiel, close enough to see his face clearly.

"She is sleeping right now. So, you shouldn't make a sound if not, I will punish you for hurting her. I'm not happy with what you did. For hurting your friend, your pretty sister for your uncle. If you keep doing that, how will you be a man in the future?"

Little Noel sniffed at what Ezekiel was saying. It touched him so much. He felt as though he had betrayed Monalissa. Well...maybe he had actually did.

"You... what's your name?" Ezekiel asked.

"Noel. Noel Lynn" he replied.

"Look here Noel, you don't let people tell you what to do, especially if it's something evil. Be a man of your own. Do not do things like this again. Monalissa doesn't hate you at all but I do hate you, for hurting her. She's a very important person to me, just so you know. You should protect her, don't you think? She saved your life yet you endanger hers?"

Little Noel burst into tears. He finally felt the gravity of what he had done. "I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I won't do something like this anymore" he apologized. "What of her baby?", he asked immediately.

Ezekiel arched a brow at him. "How did you know?"

"Miss Hana was saying it" he replied.

Ezekiel swallowed but didn't say anything. "No need for you to know. Come let's go and see her. Remember, do not make a noise" Ezekiel reminded.

"Yes" Little Noel replied.

The two guys arrived at her room and just as Ezekiel had said, she was sleeping. Little Noel sniffed as tears gathered in his eyes. She looked so pale and tired and this broke the heard of the two guys standing beside her. Doctor Maya stood the moment they walked in.

"Mr Don" she called.

Ezekiel looked at Noel. "Stay with her" he said.

Noel nodded and was more than happy to do that.

Doctor Maya and Ezekiel stepped out to discuss something.

"How's she doctor?" Ezekiel asked.

"She's okay now. I have managed to stop the bleeding. She might have to stay in bed for so days. Her system is very weak at the moment. She's at a very critical stage" she explained.

Ezekiel clenched his teeth. He didn't say anything.

"But, she will be fine. However, she can't get pregnant anytime soon".

"What?!" Ezekiel asked with widened eyes.

"Yeah. Probably after a year or two. There will be little or no complications then" Doctor Maya explained. "You should just take good care of her this period. She needs you now" she added.
