Prologue 4 (Part 2) An Acquaintanceship and A Help.

"What is your story?"

He looked at her as he fished his pockets. "What do you mean?"

"I have seen mostly humans here; you, your annoying friend and the guy with a line on his face to his other ear. There might be more but it is just an observation."

He paused, "we were… trafficked and brought here when we got knee deep into debt. I thought joining a gang would secure my family but they always find ways to keep you there; threats, promise of benefits, blackmail and torture." Slixk had told her how he had not willingly gotten his tattoos, even though she thought they looked sick. Now, she understood his reaction when she had commended him. "I had failed them again and the only way I could pay them back was to come to this side of the world. Luckily, I was able to pull some strings and bring my family along." Slixk now held an aged sheet of paper before her face.

"I was surprised how so many of you can be here, especially after the war." She was silent a while drinking the information in front of her. "I need you to take an excuse and change your shifts today."

Kazu Nini had a map before her and cramming it with mental energy was nothing. So when her closest friend these days, Slixk, dropped the blueprint of this warehouse from her eyes, Kazu Nini was solidifying her plans.

"My turn for a shift was yesterday, its Frank's turn." He had told her that her being here had been, several days already and almost a full week.

"Make an excuse or something." Kazu Nini had swallowed her glasses, training with them every second that no one was in the room and getting more fluent with it as time went on, even somewhat improving in her ability. The RestrictionHoldingChip in her manacles had added as a sort of weight lifting for her Ko-jin veins and had tempered them so far. The feeding from her new friend had made her capture more tolerable and it had helped her stabilize her condition, slowly improving as the days went by.

"What are you doing that you must suggest to me take a break over and over?"

Kazu Nini regarded him for a while before telepathically disturbing a glass cup on the table and moving it to his eye level before he had finished the question. She did not say anything just now but he caught on.

"It is a dangerous idea," he could not help but panic as this girl was barely his daughter's age and every time he looked at her, he could not imagine his daughter having such an ordeal to deal with. "Can you handle all the trouble? How wi-"

"You are making it harder for me by trying to plant doubt in my mind, just cooperate."

She could see questions in his face before he sighed and walked back to his seat, unsatisfied and unwilling but drawing in a deep breath. "Get me as much glass as you can and each one will add to my survivability." He looked at her again then nodded his head. "Also, those Telewatches some of you guys have how can I get them?"

"The higher ranks are given. If you noticed, I and Frank do not have them."

"The one who came the other day, the baldy head with a scar across his face, is your superior?"

"A superior yes but only a Domestic Inspector," the man corrected, "about four of them answer to the Subordinate Head for this base."

"The Subordinate Head, is he here all the time?"

"No, but I think he is arriving today."

It might be risky but every extra day here might mean some sort of plan they had for her being easier to accomplish the more she delayed. She had to rake the risk. "What are their cultivation levels?"

"The Branch Inspector Head would be Early Level 8, Bald head would be 7 or 6."

"Why have they not been able to hear us all this while, if their cultivation Levels are so high, it should not be a problem?"

He pointed at the corners of the room to see AudioDampeners and she nodded her head. "Are there any other SenseDampeners I can get?"

From the map earlier, she could tell that they were not too far from where she stayed with her guardian. Only about an hour away, which should be no problem for Mako Nini but she might have to do what she can with what she had.

The man looked at her before finally saying, "I wish you success."

Carrying two bags back with him, he was sure he was going to be followed, so he left one with all the materials Kazu Nini had said that she would need and dropped it behind the pillar on her right before running back to his seat and acting composed.

Frank walked in a heartbeat later and glanced at his friend. Every time he noticed an extra piece of clothing was torn from their prisoner, he shuddered at the thought of it. But then, it had made him gain some respect for his friend as he finally did something which proved he had a spine.

Plus, he did not judge the man. Being captured from his home continent and shipped to another with his entire family had made Slixk very apprehensive of doing any extra or crossing any lines. Plus, if anything, whatever he was doing to the girl meant that he was ruthless enough to carry this gang's name on his back.

"Help me, brother."

Frank raised his head and glanced at the girl in confusion, "with what?"

Frank regarded the Pixie with a mischievous look before staring back at his comrade, "with your shift. I will give you mine for the next time."

"Yo, I have plans t-"

"Just a few more days, brother."

The other man squeezed his face. "Why do you keep on calling me brother?"

"You are the one who believes in the spirit of kinship."

He was about to decline and then Frank raised a finger which made him pause. "You can have her if you want."

"Nooo!"

"I don't mean that way," Frank turned to him and then at Kazu Nini. "You were the one saying that you wanted to avenge the lost souls or something like that." He stood up and left his glass of water on the table. "Have at it, no qualms." [1.]

Frank glanced at the floor then stood up to approach the young Pixie who had begun counting 5 minutes; the time it would take Frank to not get involved. He first rotated a knob that was half outside a small box about its axis then he flicked the box open which shot out a whip with the speed or a blow dart. The man held the whip in his hands and glared at her malevolently. "I would have shown you pity but the atrocity you caused cannot be rep-"

"Whimp." She said the word with so much disgust it took a while for someone who had begun cultivation to process the shock. "You people were used as cannon fodder and when you had no one to blame about the fact that you could not keep a stolen bag from a *little* Pixie girl, you captured me to torture me." She shook her head in disappointment and he reacted by whipping her twice, left and right but when he punched her gut, with all the strength someone at the Divine Early Level of 4, she spat out something from her bowels.

Frank then tried berating her while he would further inflict pain, he realized he could not talk. With glass now around his mouth, she fought against his will to pull it off but when he staggered around when fighting the clamping force on his mouth, his fellow comrades outside the room thought he was raping the girl. Shaking their heads, they resumed to work as the glass had begun entering his own mouth and proceeded to his wind pipe but she wrenched the glass on his face when he was reaching for his ProjectileGun behind his belt so much so that he was flipped in the air and landed on his face. Breaking his teeth to reach inside his mouth, she was close to successful and had him gasping for air from a block of glass in his throat. She watched him kick, with a pained and agonizing expression, then with veins popping out and blood rushing to his head. Finally, his eyes bulging as his mind knew he had lost this fight. Frank was now knocked out and his eyes closed shut.

His comrades outside the door had forgotten that there was supposed to be a NoiseDampener in that room but their imaginations were running too wild to understand the actual situation.

She waited a while, heard no steps, and now withdrew the glass to barge the door, slinking it into the spaces between the frames and the heavy door. The other piece of glass from her spectacles she had previously forced down his throat, she split into two pieces then had them compress themselves till they were paper thin. Rotating them with more effort, she could not wait to gain access to her Ko-jin back but even she was surprised at the response of glass to her right now. Maybe, learning to adapt back to manipulating glass with just the mind alone was more helpful than she thought.

She grinded the pieces of Reinforced Glass at the chain of the Manacles till she dropped to the ground.

Someone banged at the door and Kazu Nini paused. "You can't do too much damage; we have not had our bit of fun yet."

Kazu Nini mimicked male laughter and proceeded to removing the RestrictionHolderChips that she had been burdened with, now hearing the disappointed footsteps of the guard walking away. "Curse you, man."

Kazu Nini felt a wave of nausea as her Ko-jin System felt like it was recovering form intense fever that had lasted for a year, all within the span of a minute. And had to crouch to avoid whimpering too loud as they now assumed her dead or spent.

Next, she raided the pockets of this guy who seemed to have SpaceBoxes - artifacts that had a modest amount of space within them that dwarfed their actual first impression - and was not too impressed. She recovered about 30,000 Bronze Hyur, pills for pain, and a left glove that she had seen on the unconscious man below her feet that she had liked. She also saw arm bands of same color black and took those boxes with her.

She went over to the bag which Frank had left her and amongst the bunch of glass mirrors and glass cups he had brought, she saw the rims of her spectacles, as well as her dolls, which she kissed.

"Love you guys."

Standing back up with terrifying pain swirling in her abdomen, she walked to the door and removed the glass from its crevices and its surface. Hearing no noise, she slowly opened it which granted a narrow view of an empty corridor. The corridor had double doors at the end that probably opened to the main ware house. At the end of the hallway, close to the double doors, she saw a steel armored crate. There was a room to the right and left, and if her memory served her right from what she remembered of the map, the kitchen was after this room.

She heard no movement or voices in this room and decided to slink out. [1.] Her feet were now outside and she stayed to the wall to see someone sleeping with his head on a table in a room full of ammunition for ProjectileGuns its various versions. Kazu Nini saw that the man was facing away and she quietly entered the room. The Young Pixie made a circle to envelope his head and dragged him upwards steadily and not too slowly so that by the time he woke up, the kicking and struggling could not be heard. When she was done with that, she dropped him back on the chair with help from her actual body.

Her Ko-jin channels were still stressed from their extended restraint so she had to pack everything she saw with her own hands into Frank's SpaceBoxes. When they were full, she searched the man and found some on him too. Emptying out the room, she made below him a platform of glass that she used to carry him into the room that was once her holding cell. Waiting again to make sure no one came out to the corridor, she stepped into the Kitchen this time. And someone was now there, awake, but backing her. Kazu Nini had to work quickly and stealthily, so she pointed the nuzzle of one of the ProjectileGuns to the man's nape and he froze.

"Quiet," and that was the last thing he heard before she chopped him across the neck.

She saw SpaceBoxes on this other man and realized that just maybe their backer must be someone who was painfully influential, and although she cursed her luck, she filled the space with all the food and pots and utensils she saw.

Carrying him too, she ran back into her bunker and sealed the door when she returned.
