Rescue

Katarea was a Djinn, and that meant that like most demons she respected power. It is what made it difficult for her to take Bora seriously. While she still considered him as her master, he seemed like a pathetic master. At one point she even wondered about what other demons would say to her if they were aware of her situation.

However this day, the day Bora fought a Boss on his own, Katarea had stars in her eyes seeing him like that. She knew that after this day, she could be proud of being his servant.

« Ethereal Creation : Shotgun ! » Yelled Bora as a shotgun appeared in his hands. However it looked like it was made of smoke. It looked as if it would dissipate with a single breath. And yet, this shotgun was powerful enough to make the Black widow hiss in pain. And Bora used without reloading even once.

« Ethereal Creation: Stun Grenade ! » Bora yelled once again, and this time a grenade appeared in his hands. He removed the pin of the grenade and threw it on a wall. The spider rushed toward the wall and took a step back as the grenade exploded. The spider then looked left and right, up and down, seemingly lost.

Grinning Bora dashed towards the spider, he jumped and tried to stab it, however he closed his eyes while in the air and landed on his back. It seemed that he had reached his limit.

« Master ! » Screamed Katarea, thankfully the spider was still affected by the grenade and didn't attack her. She rushed at Bora's side and slapped him, which made him shot up standing.

« Did I actually faint because of mana exhaustion ? » Asked Bora. Katarea nodded and pushed him as one of the spider's leg came in a flash.

« Damn that thing don't want to die ! » Exclaimed Bora. The spider turned towards them and started to attack them ruthlessly. But since it had lost a lot of legs it couldn't move too much.

Bora and Katarea dodged all it's attacks and went to the other side of the room. Katarea snarled while griping her war axe, ready to counter attack. However Bora stopped her.

« Katarea...Give me your mana. I'm gonna finish it. » Said Bora. Katarea looked conflicted but soon nodded and put her hand on his shoulder, a red energy travelling through her arm and entering Bora's body.

« It's time to end this fight ! » Said Bora. He walked until he was facing the Spider who was ready to attack him, though it most certainly wouldn't reach him. However Bora began to walk without a care in the world. As the second passed he moved faster and faster until he began to run toward the spider.

Just when he entered it's reach and a leg shot towards him, he jumped high and while grabbing his daggers shouted.

« Ethereal Form ! »

Bora's body became like the shotgun and the grenade, like it was made out of smoke. He was now just a cloud of smoke that had an humanoid form.

Katarea looked in a daze as Bora was about to land on the spider but passed right through it, he then stabbed the spider continously. It tried to hit him, but everything went through him. He was now untouchable.

During a whole minute, he used the daggers to completely destroy the spider.

« Phew~This damn spider was really tough. » Said Bora as he dropped to the ground, laying on a rock as e watched the spider's corpse disappear slowly. When it finally disappeared, he got up and walked towards the huge web.

« Katarea grab the loot, I'm gonna help those dumbasses. » Said Bora. He then slashed the web with his daggers, freeing the four hunters. Since they were still uncounscious, Bora decided to slap them until they woke up, which unsurprisingly worked.

« Wha-! » The apparent leader of the group exclaimed as he looked around. The other three woke up and looked as confused as him.

« *Cough* Well hello hunters. I'm the mercenary Bora, and this is my friend Katarea. We accepted a rescue quest and so we came to save you. You are quite lucky the spider didn't eat you. » Said Bora as he helped the Leader get up. The other three got up on shaky legs, and looked at Katarea with surprised clear on their faces. Katarea sighed and went besides Bora, clearly telling him to handle them.

« W-Well thank you Bora. I don't even remember what happened to us to be honest. I think the Guardian attacked us and then brought us here. You really saved us on this one. » Said the leader bowing to Bora as the other did the same. Bora simply waved his hand to tell them that it was okay, and then the whole group decided to run through the dungeon to escape from it as fast as possible, no one wanted to spend a single second in this dungeon.

As they escaped from the cave, the hunters turned to Bora and Katarea.

« Thank you for your help, we'll now return to the Hunter's guild. We'll confirm the success of the quest to your guild, so the reward should come quickly. I'll add a little bonus, to express my gratitude. » Said the Leader. Bora smiled widely and then proceeded to not listen to the hunters as they all introduced themselves. The hunters then went on their way while Bora and Katarea went back to their hotel room.

As soon as they arrived, Katarea took the loots out of her storage and put them on the bed. Bora's eyes widened as the greed appeared in his eyes like always. He scanned each item and then laughed.

« Well it looks like my luck as decided to show itself just when I need it. Now I'm finally going to be useful in fights ! » Exclaimed Bora.

« About that Master, you still haven't told me what your abilities are. » Said Katarea. Bora smirked at her and cleared his throat.

« Well since I've had the time to think about it, I now realized how good they are. So look at my bracelet....And be amazed ! »
