~Chapter 12~

Cassius' PoV

Leaving home for a week is tiresome. However I have to gather these stubborn Alphas. Even if I'm their King, they don't really obey what my command through letters of via messengers. That's why I'm left with no choice but to visit their packs. It also means I have to leave my mate and child behind. I already entrusted some pack warriors to them and I've talked to Kirael that he has to protect his Mother when I'm not around. I told him that he should call if something happened. Since he cannot use mindlink, because he hasn't performed the moon ritual yet. I'm not entirely sure but I feel something off is about to happen.

I don't want to leave but I have to. I'm the Alpha King and I need to do this for the mother and child's sake. Motivating myself to finish the business I got to do.

A week passed and everything was smooth. I'll go home tomorrow, after I wrap things up. Since the Alphas will be going with me, they needed to settle things first. I can't wait for tomorrow to see them both again.

"King!" My Beta came running at me.

"What is it?"

"Kirael requested if he could speak with you." He handed the phone to me.

I wave him off, giving him a signal that I don't want to be disturb.

"Hello kiddo!" I said to Kirael.

"Ugh Dad, I think we have a problem." Kirael whispered over the phone.

"What kind of problem is it? Who would dare cause you problems?" I asked him.

"The Elders have Mom. The guards can't do anything. I just learned of it now, beacuse the guards who were assigned to Mom, link the Uncle who's guarding me." Kirael hesitatedly said.

"Okay don't worry bud, I'll go home right away. I'm actually near our territory, so I'll be there in one and a half hour."

I dropped the call and immediately call on my Beta and Gamma, telling them to take care of the things that's needed to be done. I told them that I'll be coming home first because the Elders got Cleo. I hurriedly get on my car and drive. I'm using a car, because I can't risk revealing that I'm a werewolf. Stepping on the gas, to get home faster.

I saw Kirael at our house's foyer. He was with the Guards I assigned them. Jumping out of the car, I approach him.

"Sorry it took me a while to get here. Is your Mom still not home?" I asked, assessing his sad face.

"We apologize for our incompetence, Alpha King." The Guards bowed at me.

"Tell me what happened!"

"Truthfully, Ms. Theron gave us a break and we went to buy food. She told us that no will harm her, since she's under your protection. But the time we got back, we saw two elders guiding her on the car." The pack warrior told me.

Unfortunately, I don't know what to tell the guards. It was my mate's decision to give them time to rest and before I went on a trip, I reminded her multiple times, that she can let them do anything she wants. If I scold them, my mate will get mad at me. Therefore, I decided to punish them later on.

"Let's go. I know where they are." I told them as I carry Kirael into the car. Driving as fast as I can, to get in Cain's tower.

All of us went inside the building, when we stepped on the 45th floor. The security tried to stop us. I threw one of the security at the door, it immediately swang open. I hid Kirael behind me.

"Who told you that you can do the things you like when I'm not around?" Asking them in a menacing tone.

"And why are inside the building that I own Alpha King?" Cain snap back at me.

"How dare you lay a hand on her?"

We're both at our limits. Anytime our wolves will take over and try to kill one another. Nicholas tried to stop both of us. But it only makes my blood boil. I know that they've interrogated my mate. For sure they also threaten my child's life.

"It seems that the furballs need to get out of the meeting room." Seth lectured, clapping his hands and the security instantly seize hold of us.

"What the hell is this Elder Seth?"

"You're scaring the child. Stop fighting and growling, both of you." Seth answered in an intimidating tone. Then he look at Kirael and ask, "What would you like to eat my little child?"

"Oh my goddess! You look like Mihael." Elder Mateo charmingly said.

The Vampire Elders surrounded Kirael, who was sitting at Cleo's lap. Obviously, he is feeling weird about the situation. My head started to twitch, since their trying to suffocate Kirael by asking a lot of questions and of course by encircling him. I stride over them and stop what they were doing to the child.

"We just want to talk to him." Seth said in defense.

"You're putting the child in an unpleasant situation." I retaliated and get Kirael out of my mates lap. Settling him on my lap instead.

"Its fine, you don't have to do that." Cleo mumbled.

Heavily sighing upon hearing her said that. If I could just tell her the things I want as her mate. If only her wolf acknowledge me and let her know that we're mates. All I can ever tell her is. "No problem at all."

I smiled at her, hoping she can at least notice me.

"Your child looks like Mihael, your grandfather." Helio mentioned.

"What is your insight, my child?" Elle asked Kirael

Kirael looked at her mother, asking for approval. Cleo nodded, encouraging him that its okay to let the Elders know more about them. The last descendant of Theron.

"Uhm...I can see glimpses of the Future." He shyly answered.

Elder Ruelle seemed so excited about our child's ability so he asked about the things, Kirael saw. It was mostly about the Black Moon Pack and how they encounter us. I'm glad that he didn't tell the Elders that he saw glimpses of the future, wherein I was following her Mother like an obedient dog.

"I heard that even if you haven't met you wolf, you can use some of their ability. Since you've awakened your insight Kirael. For sure you can use mindlink to anyone." Elder Nicholas discussed.

"Using mindlink without a wolf spirit is somewhat difficult Elder Nicholas. We can use, only to someone we trust and have greater affection the most." Cleo answered on behalf of her son.

I was quite shock to hear about the Theron's ability and my mind was flooded with thought that Kirael doesn't have affection towards me. Or may be he doesn't trust me. Most probably I haven't done enough. Am I somewhat overthinking the issue of using mindlink? I don't know, I really don't.

When Kirael fell asleep, the Elders decided to let go of us. They even prepared a car to send us home.

"Why did you willingly go with them?" I glance on my mate's way.

"They requested nicely. Isn't it proper to accept the invitation." Cleo stated coldly.

Cleo look at me, trying to know what my thoughts are.

"If keep staring at me, I might melt." I jokingly said to her.

"Can we...perhaps go to our own home now? I was advised by the engineer earlier, that the contruction was done a day ago." Cleo said in a wavering tone.

"That's great! I'll ask someone to pack your things at my house and deliver it first thing in the morning." I smiled her.

They may be part of my pack now, but the thought of th leaving my side is bit difficult to handle. However I don't to push her into something she don't want to, just because I'm her mate.
