"You don't sound very sincere," Elliot complained with a frown.
It may have been the alcohol talking, but Adele said, "My mouth is very close to your crotch." After a slight pause, she added, "And I bite...very hard."
Elliot knew better than to think Adele was joking. From the short time he's known her, he found that Daniel wasn't messing around earlier when he said she was insane.
"Don't bite me, you weirdo." Elliot was about to touch her hair when he flinched after feeling a sharp nip through his pants against his thigh. "Did you just bite me?" he whisper-yelled in slight disbelief.
"You called me a weirdo," Adele justified.
Elliot only sighed in response; he wasn't going to waste his breath on a certified madwoman, but then she nipped him again! "What the hell was that for?"
"You just thought that I'm insane," Adele told him.
'So, now she's telepathic,' Elliot thought as he rolled his eyes. 'I should hook her up with my psychiatrist. She needs that pain in the ass woman more than I do.'
"Why aren't you saying anything?" Adele questioned.
"I'm trying to focus," Elliot responded. He placed his hand on her head to restrict her constant head movement. "It'd be helpful if you stayed still."
It turned out that a few of the hairpins that held her updo was stuck in the tablecloth. "I'll have to remove the hairpins," Elliot informed her.
"But my hair would be ruined," Adele whined.
Brianna interrupted their conversation by knocking her fork against her champagne flute glass filled with fruit wine. Only the newlywedded couple's immediate family and close friends knew that Brianna was pregnant and wasn't drinking alcohol because she suddenly cared about her liver.
With a bright smile, Brianna greeted everyone before saying, "I'm sure you're all famished; let's conclude this moment of memories and well wishes with the wedding toast from one of my closest friends in the world."
Everyone's eyes traveled to the end of the table when Brianna said, "Adele." However, they could only see part of the raven-haired beauty's head between Prince Elliot's legs.
Adele started to move her head to free herself since Elliot was moving too slowly. Little did she know, her movements were only making the situation worse. She could already feel the heat of her mother's terrifying rage from behind the table.
Gasps echoed throughout the room as whispers ensued, hushed words being spread of Adele's lack of decorum. Reporters present focused their cameras on her and the young prince, all jotting down their ideas on small notebooks for what tomorrow's headlines would read.
Elliot could feel everyone's burning gazes on them, but he didn't raise his head. It just now occurred to him that he and Adele looked to be in a lewd position to everyone else.
"Could you stop moving?" he whispered to Adele. "Everyone's looking at us, and I think they're misunderstanding what's happening here."
"Does my mother look pissed?" Adele questioned.
Elliot lifted his eyes only to glance at the table before returning his gaze to his hands, quickly removing the hairpins from her hair. "I have no idea who your mother is, and why are there so many hairpins in your hair?"
"The Brazillian woman with the big curly hair," Adele told him.
Elliot looked up again and immediately lowered his head when he met Maria's murderous gaze. "She looks terrifying," he told her. "I should tell everyone what's going on before your mother decides to come over here and skin us both alive."
"No, don't say anything." Adele smiled, pleased with her mother's reaction. "Let everyone continue to think whatever they want."
"But your mother..."
Adele cut him off, "Don't say anything."
Fortunately for Elliot, he didn't have to go through this any longer since he finally removed the last hairpin from Adele's hair.
Adele dropped the empty hip flask in Elliot's lap before getting up from her seat. Her voluminous, thick raven hair was a sexy mess on her head, extending down to her waist. She ran her hand through it, soaking up the attention as lights from the reporters' cameras flashed in her face.
Elliot shook the empty hip flask before looking at the culprit with disbelief. 'I can't believe she drank it all.'
'Also,' Elliot added in his thoughts. 'She looks so...' he trailed off, trying to find the right word. 'Alluring with her hair down.'
Not so surprisingly, he wasn't the only one who thought so. Despite being next to their lovers, the men in the room couldn't help but stare at her with lust.
Elliot thought Adele was gorgeous before, but now she looked so ravishing, even with that drool at the corner of her lips that made a wet line down her chin. His eyes widened, and he quickly tore a piece of the napkin on the table before slipping it into her hand.
Adele looked at the piece of napkin in her hand before looking at Elliot, who mouthed, "There's drool on your face," while touching his face, making a line from the corner of his lips to his chin so she would understand.
Adele chuckled maliciously in her head and wiped her mouth as she spoke, "Sorry, I had to swallow quickly; I didn't think he'd finish so fast."
Hearing her words, Elliot almost choked on his coca-cola. 'Is she trying to make people misunderstand?!'
Adele was referring to the bourbon in the flask and was talking about the hairpins when she said she didn't think he'd finish so fast but intentionally wanted everyone to misunderstand so her mother could suffer a bit more.
Brianna intended to embarrass Adele and even went as far as to allow the media into her wedding, but things weren't going quite as she had hoped. Maria would usually be at Adele's throat by now, but the red-faced woman was just sitting there.
Adele didn't care for the royalty present at the wedding, but her mother did, so though the Brazillian woman wanted to wring her daughter's neck, she remained seated to not cause a scene. Her shameless offspring was embarrassing her enough.
With a rehearsed smile, Adele took up her glass of water.
