The leader looked up at me, his eyes pleading.

"Please, not like this. We're not animals to be slaughtered for your amusement!"

"Animals? Please don't compare yourself to them; you'll give them a bad name," I replied, my tone devoid of any pity. 

The other thugs recoiled at my words, a mix of shock and horror on their faces. 

The lanky guy with the scar across his cheek looked down, his hands trembling. It dawned on them that I saw them as far beneath even animals, and this realization struck hard.

If a dog bit me, I might forgive it, understanding that animals acted on instinct and limited intelligence.

But humans, unlike animals, had no such excuse. They made their own choices, driven by their own will.

The distinction was brutal and clear: their actions and decisions were entirely their own, with no room for excuses.
